If you climb up a higher dune you can get cell service if needed. If the sand condition is a mess you will not make all the way to the end in 4wd on a full tank of gas. We were out there in March when there was debris everywhere and the sand was horribly deep everwhere. We kept it in 4wd and we were down to 6mpg and we had to turn around at the 35 mile marker to make it back without running out of gas. We came out the next day and ran 2wd most of the way and only used 4wd as needed and we were able to make it to the end. We were in a expedition.

I recommend taking a good first aid kit with a lot of hydrogen peroxide and meat tenderizer for hardheads and jellyfish stings. Great video. Very informative. I’ll probably see you down there. 👍

I always air down. You burn less fuel. Your jeep is light and has a short wheel base. That is why you can get away with not airing down.

Pro tip.............. Air down your tires! Lower PSI gets ya better traction in the sand.

  • @budcat2

I’ve been there. I’ve done that we’ve called that “packing sand” ain’t no way to get it all out. You just gotta pack it out with you.

  • @reeltalkfisherman2024

Awsome what he said about deflating tires, i have a 4 wheel drive and i never deflated. I just take my time and if somethjng does not look good then i don’t risk it.Good info also about camping and wind soeeds

My son-in-law and I set up his 32 ft trailer exactly here, up next to the dunes, a few weeks ago on fathers day weekend.... just before tropical storm Alberto. Sunday was beautiful with white puffy clouds, choppy but relatively normal surf. The high tide was probably 100+ feet from the dunes. Monday was exactly the same. We grilled some steaks Monday night, built a small campfire and sipped a bit of Kentucky's finest. The tide line was still about 100 feet from the dunes. We went to be about
