Im in Htown now but centex for 37 years prior. Granger is okay but the North side is public land hunting and you need a permit. Campsites on tne South side.
Canyon Lake is a bust. Zebra Mussels destroyed the fish population.
Travis is ususlly a bust unless you have a boat to travel. Probably low.
Lake Bastrop is okay but it’s like paddling in a warm bathtub. Southshore campground is nice but mak a reservation. Theres a guy with a bunch of RVs and rents out spots for profit.
Decker Lake is a crowd scene and also a warm bathtub.
Braunig and Calaveras are expensive warm bathtubs but have freshwater redfish.
No info on Medina except that it’s really low.
This was awesome. Took two days to completely watch from beginning to end because of work, but I absolutely loved every second of it.
I haven't heard anything positive about fishing lake Corpus Christi so when I saw your "survival challenge" I thought well here goes a "hold my beer, watch this" moment. Congratulations for making it! And that's pretty hard core that your back up plan is a bag of corn nuts and a Slim Jim. I'm not sure what would be worse starving to death or having to eat that-LOL!

Aluminum Foil. Wrap the fish in foil with butter or olive oil and all your favorite spices. That's the ticket.

The slim jims make good sunfish bait, which can be cut up or used as live bait.

I haven’t watched the whole video yet. But I was wandering why you didn’t use the minnows and fish the legs of the pier for white bass and crappie. Always fish the structure. I like lake Corpus Christi and always catch fish there.

Cooler October weather makes catfish turn on every year in Lake C.C. So your timing is perfect to be catching to eat. Summers can be tricky down there, with strong and hot windy days.

Breakaway has great pomp rigs too, uses 3/0 hooks. I've caught oversized reds on them. What size hooks are on those Stanfield rigs? Cool videos

I tried to tell you where some good bait was. The little cove to the left of your camping spot as you're looking at the water has a ton of shellfish that is killer bait. I used to camp and set my trot line from about your spot to the next little point. The water there was about chest deep and you can walk across.
There's nothing better than Thermacell for bugs. They disappear in a couple minutes.
Food - try not to stress so hard about food. You'll be fine. Occupy your mind with other stuff. The food will come.

Tent was from www.4wheelparts.com/b/camping/tents-awnings/roof-top-tents/_/N-cm5sz trailer was from lowes and custom work was done to make it fit the rooftop tent
