I just flashed my Maestro on my Road Glide. Gauges are working perfectly!!!! Even the MPG are finally reading out correct! Thank you for the update! I agree on the clock request ....
I’m glad we could help!
I’m so glad I found this video. Finally figured out what I had been doing wrong. Now the radio set of gauges are working as they should and I’m awaiting to see if I’m going to still get that dreaded low oil pressure warning message or not.
Glad we could help!
Truly appreciate all your support and walk through on this, I definitely could not do this without you.
Awesome, thank you so much!
I have one other request......can you ask if it would be possible to make one of the gauges a clock? If I am using carplay, it isn't an issue, however if I am using the gauges, It would be nice to make one of them show the current time. Its not a major issue, but would be a cool to have. Thanks for all of the support that you give all of us!
Thank you!
I have found moving the volume to the right controls and navigating functions in the left controls is a better set up. Trying to navigate the menus and keep firm control on the throttle is more complicated than simply having the volume on the right controls.
We mirror the same layout as with the factory radio
Thanks for all your support.
Thank you
Great info , very interested in the SI . Hopefully they can find a fix for the Thundermax ecm communication issue with the gauges . This would be an awesome upgrade with gauge display for a bar and riser setup and save some money on gauge relocation.
If they do an update for thundermax I’ll make a video on it
@@volunteeraudio that’s why I’m here lol
Funny you should bring this up. I want to start my bike yesterday and nothing. Could this have something to do with it the batteries good but the starter will not engage. It’s either a bad starter or perhaps this is the problem. Could it be the problem and how should I check it?
Only an issue on some 2014
@@volunteeraudio mine is a 14 CVO limited
Is it a no start or does it affect the starter not turning over? It’s been on the bike. I did a pre-order this past winter. It’s been running OK no problems till yesterday when I was going to head to Tennessee I’ll have to call. I do not have a computer and I am computer illiterate.
@@volunteeraudio I’ll have to call tomorrow morning. Sorry to bother you on your Sunday.
When you go into bike info, select the three dots, Maestro features, gauges, OBD2 communications is not present. Video says its set automatically but it didn't say the option was no longer available?
They have set it to the correct position now to allow service at the Harley dealership and so that the radio will not clash with diagnostic computers. This is a good thing
The latest firmware is 2.1, we now recommend using 2.1 following these same directions
what is the difference between 1.8 and 1.9
@@mardycarr5511 1.9 added obd2 connectivity when viewing motorcycle info screen to fix the gear selector and to make tpms more accurate
@@volunteeraudio is there a list somewhere of what the firmware fixes so we can see if we need to update most of us need to take bike apart to do updates
@@mardycarr5511 we go over these in our videos, there is no list, 2.2 is the latest firmware
Thanks for your support. What do you have to set to fast forward a song?
Our recommended thumb control layout is listed on our website at www.volunteeraudio.com under install help
Thanks, Folder back/Folder next does not exist anymore. Fast forward no longer works with 1.9, drive SG 2018
My general setting screen doesn't show my device ID what do I need to do
It will in the about tab
Some times i have no sound out of my speakers when i crank my bike have power to amp and radio
Your battery is going bad, if voltage drops below 10 volts while cranking the radio amp will turn off until next ignition cycle
Jay loaded as advised. FYI unfortunately v1.8 breaks my displayed temperature measurement of Centigrade. It forces my Dakota Digital MLX-8414 gauges into fahrenheit ONLY. The radio gauges change between F and C, but the Dakota's are F only. Tried v1.6 that also did the same. So have rolled back to v1.4 (still without my FP3 attached) and the Dakotas are C and I can select either F or C for display on the radio gauges ✊🏻🙏🏻🇬🇧
I will pass this info on to idatalink
I have flashed my MRr2 to go with my 2016 Harley Davidson Street Glide ,Also installed the new Sound stream Reserve HDHU14Si. However my thumb controls don't work. I need recommendations. I do have a screaming Eagles Tuner in my bike?
You most likely have the plugs in to wrong places on the MRR, they are color coded, do not put the black connector in the blue or red port
@@volunteeraudio Thanks for quick response. I have all the colour plug in the right place and I have even reflashed the MRr2 like 4 times to insure the thumb controls match each other in the press and hold in the MRr2
@@thomasayer4552 screaming eagle tuner will not keep thumb controls from working, you may have a bad mrr2 or the flash did not take, we use the MRR in all of our installs
@@volunteeraudio Thanks for responding. I have just tried anther Maestro RR and as soon as I plug into the wiring harness all colours in correct places om maestro RR. I get the Red light flashing twice and the thumb controls don't work. What are the next steps.
Great videos! Do you know if there are any plans to have the MRR compatible with Vance & Hines FP3?
Currently you can disable obd2 communication in the radio and as long as you don’t view gauges or motorcycle info screen there should not be a data clash issue
@@volunteeraudio You are a Super Genius! I had given up on being able to use my FP3 unless I disconnected the radio, made changes and reconnected the radio. And that was very painful. You guys are awesome, thank you very much!!!
Hi
Thank you I received my soundstream HDHU 14SI and I install it in my 2018 CVO ULTRA everything are okay but I tried three different USB cable to try Android Auto but unfortunately it doesn't work only it will change my Android phone. How can I solve this problem?
Try a different phone and an automotive grade usb c charge/sync cable as short as possible, you may have to delete android auto from your phone and redownload
I just received my full system like 3 weeks ago. Is there a way to tell which version is on my MRR?? I have a 2018 CVO Streetglide and as of now it seems like everything is working just fine. The system sounds AWESOME!!
On your box we write the version on the white sticker that was over the tab that keeps the box closed. You can also look in the maestro menu of the radio
@@volunteeraudio got it. Thanks for quick response. I have the 1.4 installed. So I’ll have to pull fairing and get it updated.
how is it possible to change from °fahrenheit to °Celsius and Miles to km ?
You can change the units of measure in the maestro features menu of the radio
Hi Jay,
So having issue with the oil pressure below 10psi keep popping up on the screen after the 1.8 update. I don’t see anyone else in the comments with this issue. I have a 2015 Street Glide. Thanks in advance for any help fixing this issue.
You should be able to disable the warning in the maestro features part of the radio or revert back to 1.7 firmware
@@volunteeraudio Jay thanks! I’ll try those options out.
Jay, I just updated to 1.8 and now I'm unable to customize my guage layout. All options are greyed out. What am I missing?
Bike must be running to view or select gauges
Do i need to flash the bike or just the mrr
Just the mrr
When are they going to get the gear position selector and compass to work???
2022 SGS
Not all bikes have the correct sensor to display gear position, also compass data is only available with certain traction control equipped bikes
My bike is a 2022 Street Glide Special with all the traction controls and ABS. I find it hard to believe it doesn't have the right modules for the gear position and compass. This is a major disappointment cuz my bike still shows the gear and the GTS at least showed what direction I was going!!
@@scottschiller1153 on some bikes gear position does not work until you change the gear selection after the engine is running. Not all years have all sensors from Harley. We find that 2014-2016 actually have more sensor data
Hi Jay. Just stumbled upon your awesome videos, and the more I watch I'm seriously considering the HDHU14si as a replacement to the Boom GTS and its limiting capabilities. I've heard it mentioned, though, that you lose Bluetooth headset capabilities with this unit. Is this still the case even if you have a WHIM installed? Any updates in the chute to add this capability yet? Spent so much $$ on the WHIM & wireless HD-branded headset already - I'd hate to spend just as much to replace the unit and not have that capability. Thanks!
I’m sorry but there is no hardware in this radio to retain Bluetooth headsets so no future update could add the feature either
hello Jay just wondering if there are any screen protectors available for the HDHU 14si
No, it does not need one, it uses optically bonded glass that will not scratch
Would you recommend this for my 14 SG?
Yes
So I have the TT ECM and when I updated the firmware to 1.8 I keep getting a low oil pressure indicator, repeatedly. This occurs despite the oil pressure being above 30 as indicated in the info screen. I have adjusted the pressure sensitivity down to five and it still occurs. Eventually after riding for awhile it goes out. Thoughts?
Not sure what tt stands for but any ecm that is not stock may not work correctly, you can also disable the warning in the menu
I bought my soundstream radio in February from you do I need to update it?
The maestro needs an update, not the radio
@@volunteeraudio ok ya that's what I meant thanks
Can this connect via Bluetooth with a Sena Impulse helmet?
These do not connect to any headset
@@volunteeraudio Well, thats a bummer. Are there currently any on the market that can? Or, have you heard anything from the company hinting toward them making that a possibility with the SI in the future? It's crazy that in 2023 this is still something thats not standard.
@@ms-22 we release future model info once available to us but currently none on the market support headsets
What if I don't have the cable that came it with?
You will need to purchase a usb cable, if radio was bought from Volunteer Audio we included the cable in the radio box
@@volunteeraudioMy V2 doesn't show serial number on the about screen in the standings. Do I have to take everything apart and get it from up under the radio
@@newmoney8128 it has a number on the about screen, it is not called serial number but is the serial number
@@volunteeraudio ik it says Device ID and it's blank
I can’t find the setting for SDVC (speed dependant volume control) I have to constantly raise and lower volume manually with my speed. Am I missing something? Using 1.8 Firmware currently.
Speed volume is only retained if using factory amplifiers
@@volunteeraudio hopefully they can fix this with a firmware update in the future. Thanks for the reply
What brand/model of camera hooks up to this head unit?
We use this one volunteeraudio.com/product/boyo-vtk501hd
I currently have a Sony xav-ax7000 I'm seriously think about replacing it with the Soundstream. Are there any issues with the Soundstream other than updates?
The Soundstream is better in every way, better thumb controls, better display, way better water treatment since it is ipx5
Thanks! I have it in my cart, just need to pull the trigger!
Will it now work with thundermax?
Not gauge display yet
So Jay you say not yet. Is there still hope they will map it to work with Thunder Max? By the way the voltage gauge does work with the TT.
@@mikeburke2219 we are requesting it and are hopeful that they tackle thundermax after stock ecu updates are complete
Dumb question but how to I adjust navigation volume whilst using google maps via android auto. It blows my head off.
Turn the volume of the radio down while it is giving you nav directions
Jay, Does this update fix the problem with the SI not reading information for gauges from Thundermax ECM? Going to order 14+ unit but if SI unit now reads Thundermax ECM will order SI unit. Thanks.
Gauges still do not work when using an aftermarket ecu like thundermax
Thanks Jay just confirms I need to get the 14+ and not the SI.
Has anyone noticed that the system time on the radio resets when the bike is off for an hour or so? I always have to reset the date and time.
Are you using an external wireless CarPlay device? If so they can reset time, also if cranking voltage drops below 10volts it could be a sign of a week battery and will reset the time
@@volunteeraudio I do use a wireless CarPlay device. All of the other settings stay, it’s just the time and date that always reset back to 5pm in July of 2022 😂
@@dmancran yes if it is the RDVFL unit reach out to Rich and he will send you an update to fix it
@@volunteeraudio 👍
Can you use a Chrome Book to do the flash
hi could you please but maestro suggsted thump layout link.
put
I’ll get it up on the site Monday
@@volunteeraudio hi
where can i find it
thank you
Thank you I found it
The 1.8 firmware doesn’t work with aftermarket ECU i.e. Thundermax tuner
Correct
Will this update work with Vance and Hines FP3?
Still no update to sound quality of the radio. XM runs like crap
Xm is low on volume of using the stand alone tuner, it sounds great through CarPlay or android auto using the app, this is a Sirius xm issue but Soundstream is working on an update to improve volume on the Sirius xm source. The app will always sound better because it is a digital source
I added the 1.8 software on my 2021 streetglide special. Now the gear indicator isn't working. It worked with the 1.5 update.
It may be related to ecm info only being transferred while viewing the gauge screen. I have passed this info on to idata
