Am I the only one that would prefer a phone the size of the regular s22 but with the camera from the ultra? I do construction and prefer not to have a tablet to make phone calls when at work, but after work I'd like to have a better camera set up. Battery life isn't much of an issue with my regular s21 5g that I use without a case, stored in my back pocket when not in use, and it's a great size, but the camera isn't really all that good. After a year and a half of use is still a great phone, still looks great, but just give me the real camera instead of making me but the phablet to be able to take great pics with the super zoom features..
S22 Ultra! Coming from a S21 plus, the camera is way better especially in night mode. The nit brightness on the S22 Ultra fights off sun glare in direct sunlight for me also.
The S22+ design is the best i’ve ever seen on a smartphone next to the iPhone X. The design alone might make me go with the S22+ but i love the S pen and 1440p.
@@cedricthehustler yeah honestly that's one of the main reasons I chose the plus variant over the regular one. Also, if you do end up replacing your s22 for the plus, give it a week for the battery life to properly kick in as the s22 series uses adaptive battery. Maybe that could also be a reason why the regular battery isn't that great for you yet cause it uses adaptive battery
I need help. I'm looking to upgrade from my s10 to either the s22+ of s22 but can't decide. The smaller model would be the perfect choice because it's just the best size, but my s10 now has a degraded battery and battery life is of utmost importance to me. Sth that the s22 cannot really offer. Should I go for the s22+ or should I wait for their next galaxy S series phones?
Yeah, those are 2 of my main reasons for going with the plus over the Ultra as well. Another is cost difference(both including and excluding the trade-in value)
the S22 ultra is definitely a better phone but I went with the S22+ because I hate curved displays and the pink gold color was too pretty for me to pass up. I really wish the ultra had the same design as the plus because I definitely would have got the ultra, but I'm satisfied with my S22+ so it's a good choice for me
@mo no I have an s10 and stuff like the screenprotectors really annoy me because of the curve. But I think it looks better. Although with a case on, there really isnt much difference.
For me the decision to go for the Ultra or Plus comes down to the S pen... meaning I'm not a fan of the S pen...I would happily go for the Ultra for the camera specs and screen, but I don't use the S pen and I don't see a point paying for something that I will not use...on the other hand the Plus has lower camera specs...lower screen resolution...I think I will go for the S21 Ultra
@@tylerblack9108 that's true, but you'll also have a pretty high trade in value. So say the s23 next year blows these phones out the water you'll be able to get it for probably more Than half off by trading in an ultra compared to a regular S

Right now I am running a S22 plus with whitedome screen protector and magbak case and it has been perfect for every application so far with zero damage to the phone. I normally prefer a battery case as I spend alot of time watching videos away from a power source, running intensive GPS navigation apps ect with the magbak case you can attach a wireless charging battery to the back giving you that extra capacity while also being able to remove it when you don't want the bulk. If you are like me and don't like updating your phone every couple of years and use them for as long as possible order a good screen protector and case before you purchase the phone so you can slap on the protector and case from the moment you open the box.
The 22+ is a decent phone. I had upgraded from an s21 fe, and now had had the 22+ for one for a year, but the one review that's stands true is trash battery life since the first week of owning.
I was about to get the S22+ but the Ultra is the best Samsung has to offer and the camera is better, also the boxy design is better for my uses, both are great though! Also got the 256GB for 1049$, had to grab it!
Are you still enjoying the s22+ ? I just got one because I broke my s20 :(. I was going to go with the ultra or the Google pixel 6 pro but went with the s22+. So far not overly excited about my choice.
How much SoT is your S22 Ultra having? I want to swtich my Note 20 ultra for the S22 Ultra but I'm concerned about battery life because I have been watching reviews saying the S22U's battery life isn't good. I expect, at least, 7-8h of SoT.
I've moved from the note 20 ultra to the 22 ultra, and the battery life is better, I don't go by screen on time, but I've usually got 40% left at the end of the day, got 2 days a few times too. I've definitely got no regrets.
I'm in similar boat on choosing S22U and S22+. I've seen battery issues on Ultra and people report issues with the Exynos version which I would be getting as I'm based in UK
I personally prefer to use those cheap screen protectors films, as they have no problem "fitting" a curved display, no annoying lines around the phone display cause they are so thin and most importantly; they are really cheap. Like 10€ for a pack of 3 or 4.

Love this guy's videos, but when UA-camrs say "why I switched to " videos then a week later they are back to the ultra version without saying a word is suspect. Why not just say " This is why I might switch "
I review devices so of course I’m going to switch to multiple phones. I’m not sure what the problem is? I switched to the Plus in order to create content for people without the Ultra. I also said in the video multiple times that the Ultra is a better phone.
The only reason I would consider getting the ultra is for the burgundy color they have for it. Lol I have the s22+ now & it works GREAT! I also feel like the ultra is just too bulky, and I wouldn't really use the s pen that much if I did at all. Lol they are basically the same phone, ones just bigger with a curved screen, longer battery life, better camera in some aspects, but for the most part they are basically the same. I just wish they'd give us more red or burgundy colors, specifically for the regular S & S+ phones 🤣
Hey .. ur vdo was awesome and clear .... one thing i wanna know.. im using Note20 ultra.. im planning to buy newer one... whether i can go with 22 ultra or 22 plus.. plz suggest me good one
Am I the only one that went with the standard s22 because of the size. I think tests show battery life the s22+ will have an extra ~7% battery life than the s22 but a part from that there isn't much difference for $200 extra. Plus a personal preference of a smaller/light phone. The S22+ is still amazing and I would pick that over the ultra.
Let me be honest and this is what pisses me off, the s22 plus should have came with a stylus pen. It would be the perfect phone and sold out like crazy.
I agree partially. I don’t think it should have came with a pen BUT I think it should have supported the S Pen Pro so you could have picked it up as an optional accessory.
in my country theres a price difference bit more than the minimum wage. so im going with s22+ since imo s22 ultra is so bulky even though i dont really have small hands and you gotta think like putting it into your pocket too.
I just got the S 22 Ultra over my S10 but i'm really struggleing with the size of the phone. I'm really close to send the s 22 ultra back and get a s 22 plus or s22 but i don't know if it's worth it to switch then. Because i don't get a big technical difference😕 i just want a better batterylife, camera and i would like to have a more updated phone. Maybe I'll wait until the S 23
The S22 Ultra is a better than the S22 Plus, there's no doubting that. But, I think if size is concern or issue than the S22 Plus is a fantastic option. If you don't rely on the S Pen and want a phone that is 90% of the Ultra but also smaller and lighter I think swapping it may be a good choice. But, only do it if you can and it's not going to cost you anything extra.
There's always going to be something "better." That doesn't mean it's better for you. Trying to force yourself to like something because everyone says it's better doesn't make sense. Wait a year for the next one and then what? Have the same problem? You'll still have a choice between the largest phone that has higher specs and one of the smaller phones that is still a top of the line flagship that has more than good enough specs, which you won't think are good enough because something "better" exists. Just get what's right for you.
I had the 22 Ultra but i took it back and traded for the 22 plus...reason why is because the phone is heavy and not useful with one hand...instead you have to always use two hands and its a strain on your hand to try to use just one. But the s22 plus is more like it...great design...light...fits in one hand no problem. Come on Samsung make your premium ultra phone lighter and slim it down like the note 20 so i can hold it in one hand

S22 Ultra! Coming from a S21 plus, the camera is way better especially in night mode. The nit brightness on the S22 Ultra fights off sun glare in direct sunlight for me also.
I love my Ultra as well
Ultra camera is marginally better.
Nit brightness is the same in both phones.
I bought the regular s22 and I have zero regrets. The plus is still huge.
people complain about the battery life on the regular s22
You have small hands then lol
The S22+ design is the best i’ve ever seen on a smartphone next to the iPhone X. The design alone might make me go with the S22+ but i love the S pen and 1440p.
I hope the next phone is flat tired of curved screens
@@keenfuture the + is flat? I think the Ultra needs to stand out and you pay more so curved is better for it.
@@froznfire9531 yes the plus is flat, I would like the ultra features on a flat device. The higher resolution as well
@@keenfuture they should go with flat now. Im leaning towards the plus now because of the screen.
My previous Samsung phone was the note 20 ultra 512 gb. The only thing i hated was the curved screen. Recently i got s22 plus and i love it
Do you still like it ?
@@seanpaterson1602 I’ve had my s22 plus for a month and absolutely loveeeee it
@@hakunamatata9502 ive just got the s22 delivered, was shocked about the battery, thinking about going fort the plus.
I tried the S22 U and it's a beautiful phone but it's too big with a case on it. I plan to get the S23 plus when it comes out
I need help.
I love the ultra camera but I can't justify the price difference
i picked up the s22 plus over the ultra for 2 main reasons, form factor and flat display.
Yeah, those are 2 of my main reasons for going with the plus over the Ultra as well. Another is cost difference(both including and excluding the trade-in value)
@@B33nj4m1n its a top phone, one thing is use a glass screen protector as this display will be a lot more sharper with no glare... and Nova launcher.
If S22+ had a 5k battery and 512 GBs I'd already be buying it, sad they only out those features in the S22 Ultra
the S22 ultra is definitely a better phone but I went with the S22+ because I hate curved displays and the pink gold color was too pretty for me to pass up.
You said the S22+ has a front facing camera of 40mp? Everywhere it is shown as 10mp?
u don t need to double press to show the finger print if u know where it is it works even whitout the animation
I just picked up the S22+ 256GB for 450$ from google fi.
But then you get less update support
@@tylerblack9108 how,?? I think it's still 4-5years
@@tylerblack9108 that's true, but you'll also have a pretty high trade in value. So say the s23 next year blows these phones out the water you'll be able to get it for probably more Than half off by trading in an ultra compared to a regular S
@@tylerblack9108 cause my s10 can trade in for I believe 375$, I can only imagine an s21 ultra would trade in for double that and if not atleast 600-650$
The ultra is only $999 at the moment which makes it a great deal .
Great review Jonathan!
4:37 is the best bit 😂😂
They come out of no where but seem to always know when I'm recording
please please please suggest me, s21 ultra or s22 plus? 10x zoom and 108mp camera or SD 8 gen 1 chip for better photography? average user, not some professional photographer.
This grade is so nice. Do you have a lut pack? Also was this shot on the A7iii?
I was about to get the S22+ but the Ultra is the best Samsung has to offer and the camera is better, also the boxy design is better for my uses, both are great though! Also got the 256GB for 1049$, had to grab it!
Traded in my s21 128g ultra and getting a s22 ultra 256g with a free classic 4 watch for $320...
Always continue to check their sales. They keep evolving.
@@OneStop14thamendmentAuditShop I literally just got that rn too, it is well worth it
hey do you think i should buy the s22+ or the s21 ultra .
Just got my s22plus, thank you for showing that case, I got one right away and love it, it rests on the hand perfectly. Thanks man.
Only reason why I didn't go with the ultra is because I didn't like the curved screen.
Mine is 6 hours max
I'm in similar boat on choosing S22U and S22+. I've seen battery issues on Ultra and people report issues with the Exynos version which I would be getting as I'm based in UK
I regularly get about 5 to 6 hours sot with about 40% battery left. And I'm on the exynos
nice video , may i know is it S22 same as S22+ in camera topics ? is S2 able to use expert RAW ?
Yo whats the game you always play, the one at 4:30?
I personally prefer to use those cheap screen protectors films, as they have no problem "fitting" a curved display, no annoying lines around the phone display cause they are so thin and most importantly; they are really cheap. Like 10€ for a pack of 3 or 4.
The first three minutes feel more like an accessories promo than a review of the phone itself.
I just like those products tbh. I wasn’t sponsored by any of those brands.
@@OT4Tech Ok, cool. The tone and presentation could have been better though.
Thanks I skipped
What is the case you bought? You spoke so fast that I couldn't hear. Thanks!
Get rid of curved screen...plz samsung. and maybe figure out a way to still have s pen but the size and rounded edges of s22+
The Ultra needs a flat screen, not the plus. Its very annoying writing on a curve screen. PLEASE SAMSUNG!!!
Can the S22 Plus take macro photos? How is it for astrophotography?
Jonathan Casey .... Thank you for the review. I currently have a S22+ but the cell company is wanting to suggest to upgrade. Your review helped me decide to keep what I have. Where is this location? Im just a single girl that enjoys traveling and this looks like a place for me to check out. I also like the pictures you took to use in your review.
I was holding on to my s21 ultra to trade it in for the Fold 4 when it gets released but Samsung is giving the S22Ultra away for $200 with the s21 trade. I guess I'll do that and trade in my Fold 3 for the 4
Im leaning towards the S22+, but the + has a 10 Mp front camera not 40 thats only the Ultra.
The difference is visible
Hi Jonathan
I am thinking of buying Samsung S22+ too.
May I know what is the brand, model, price of your friend's camera that shot this video? It's very clear.
Hope you can reply asap. TQVM
I have had a s22 ultra for the past year. I recently came across a s23 + I just don't know what to do with the extra phone if I switch
What microphone did you use to make your video?
Just get an S21 Ultra, its just better
The battery is good, just dont charge it overnight, great performance
Stereo sound is it any good let me know thanks 😊!
Does the phone heat up too much in daily usage coz quite a number of users complained so...
I have a question about s21 I can't find the answer to? I found a data stored list and cant figure out how to get back to it?
I need some help? Please and thank you.
I’ll stick with getting the s22 ultra even if it’s a bit big I love big phones and I want the s pen
got s22 plus 3 days ago realizing the battery draining fast does this get better overtime ???
Yes much better make sure software is all up to date and battery is on optimize
Hi! Has anyone here compared s22 plus and s22 ultra's capability in terms of zoomed-in videos in low light (AKA in concerts). I had an S22 ultra and it was amazing to use in concerts. However, I got robbed and now it's gone. I can't afford another S22 ultra so I am looking for another alternatives. Appreciate your help.
So sorry to hear that, the same thing just happened to my wife and I’m curious about the exact same thing as she enjoys taking pics of the moon. The idea of paying about thousand again is ridiculous. If you got a chance to find out let me know.
Hey I like the cover cases for this where you get it from? Thanks
It's the original Samsung case you can buy it from Samsungs website.
I wasn’t expecting that….
The things that are important to me,
The weight
The tele lens
And that s pen
Is it worth the differences?
What do you recommend 🙏😻
What’s a pocket hook? I searched and search Google and still noting. How did Samsung make a case that utilizes pocket hooks and the world doesn’t know what they are.
carefull dipping phones in water.. water resistant doesnt mean water proof.. i did this to my non cracked s9+ recently.. and it broke my phone from water damage, this is why im getting a s22+ now.. and i lost every picture on the phone as i forgot to back up from the last 12 months
How does your I watch work with the Samsung phone. Notification works??
Still trying to figure out what additions expert raw brings.
great review! It helped me with my decision. ordered the phone, case and protector. that case is almost perfect. I do like a stand because I do many video conferences but that strap most definitely sold me. Thanks
Thanks for this. Been on the fence on which to get for my hubby's phone upgrade. Was considering the Ultra. But your arguments make sense.
I've bought three screen protectors that said they were compatible and not one of them have worked I don't know what to do at this point I usually don't use screen protectors or cases but I paid for this phone outright and don't really want to scratch my $1,000 phone
The flat display is enough for me
Love this guy's videos, but when UA-camrs say "why I switched to " videos then a week later they are back to the ultra version without saying a word is suspect. Why not just say " This is why I might switch "
I review devices so of course I’m going to switch to multiple phones. I’m not sure what the problem is? I switched to the Plus in order to create content for people without the Ultra. I also said in the video multiple times that the Ultra is a better phone.
Are you still using s22 plus?
Thanks for this. Best Advise I can see these days.
All excellent points. Really wish they would make their Ultra phones with a flat screen. It's a premium feature that nobody really wants.
I’m glad it’s curved I got the ultra a couple weeks ago and the curve is very nice actually
I like the curve, it's nice and makes the bezel disappear...
Is that you Daily Driver phone or Iphone? Cuz I’m seeing you wearing an apple watch. Just curious. Very helpful review. Thanks

I noticed this too. Thanks for the video link, I'll also tune in ❤️
The Ultra just has that premium feel that you just don't get with the +
I think the plus feels more premium to me
Bro how are you getting 8 or 9 hours out of your battery life?? I'm getting 5 out of my ultra😶
I think you should stick with your Note 20 Ultra for a little longer, maybe till next year or S24
Good job man, very informative I think I am going to buy the S22 plus tomorrow at Verizon!!
If you use Google Fi, you can get the S22+ for $500 right now with their Black Friday deal, which seems like a steal!
I avoid any device with curbed screen edges.
in my country theres a price difference bit more than the minimum wage. so im going with s22+ since imo s22 ultra is so bulky even though i dont really have small hands and you gotta think like putting it into your pocket too.
Казаксынбы ?
I'm surprised you didn't go to a best buy or somewhere to test out the phone first before you bought it
I'm surprised you didn't go to a best buy or somewhere to test out the phone first before you bought it
There's always going to be something "better." That doesn't mean it's better for you.
Battery life will be worse with s22 base phone
Are you using the S22+ with the apple watch, or do you carry 2 phones?

Just picked up the 22 ultra.. really want to learn about the camera
