Hey pretty. I’m 21 and I feel your pain. I’m in community college right now and I have a job and I feel like I’m behind in life. I see all the people that I graduated with in big universities, meanwhile I’m still in my hometown. But I have to remember that people go at their own pace. I’m only 21! You’re young too, u only 23. I feel like social media makes us feel this way lowkey. It’s all smokes and mirrors.

Have you considered joining meetup or a book club? I, too, yearn for social interaction & female friendships. Online relationships don’t help stave off the loneliness. I’m tired of staring at screens 😂 I need in-person interaction. Book clubs & meetup has helped me tremendously. Since you live in Atlanta, there should be plenty of social or hobby groups available.
Yea, I have so many genuine and long term friendships online but we don’t get to hang out and spend time together of course. I’m in the black girl social club and we meet a few times a month. Haven’t tried meetup but I’ll download the app. I’d love to join a book club. I guess part of my issue is, when I meet people we may have great conversation and enjoy meeting up.. but it stops there. It feels like the window to build long lasting friendships is closed.
@@TsahaiLayne I get that. I’ve learned not everyone we meet is going to be our next best friend or boyfriend/husband. Sometimes we have to accept a connection or interaction for what it is & not have too many expectations from it 😊

I feel you :) I'm 36, married, no kids and I'm autistic. Most people my age already have kids or have been married mutliple times and it's really hard to relate to. I have PCOS so getting pregnant has been really hard. I don't have any friends outside of my marriage and I do feel lonely pretty often since hubby goes to work all day. There's only so much online chatting one can do :( it gets boring and many chat sites grown adults act like they're still in high school, it's ridiculous. I pray you find what you're looking for in marriage and friends ♥
I feel you 💔, I’m 20 from Houston Texas. Me and my boyfriend live together but have conflicting work schedules so we barely get to spend genuine time together. I went to 5 different highschools due to a super rocky home life, so making friends was hard and literally my last friend I had left from highschool , we are starting to drift apart and it is so heartbreaking. I sorta think we are just outgrowing eachother because I see them on social media with other ppl but when I hit them up they are always busy… I am an introvert so it’s so hard going up to new people and making friends and even if I wasn’t an introvert like where are you even supposed to make friends as an adult? I’m tired of feeling like I have a ton of bricks on me everytime I get out the bed and I’m just dragging myself through life watching the months go by.
I am 40, and I can tell you I felt just as you did at 23 and 24...but I promise you it gets so much better. Nearly every woman I know in her 40's is thriving and doing what they want free from expectation of others. You, and any other woman in this very terrifying stage of life, will get there!
I can honestly say all through my 20s and half of my 30s I had the same two girlfriends. Now in my mid-40s I have zero friends. You will do one of three things grow together grow apart or outgrow each other. That’s any relationship in life. I do have my moments of feeling like I’m in the sunken place. But then I will be a witness to someone else’s drama behind a friendship and feel better off. I definitely relate though.
I feel the same way. I’m very blessed to have my family but sometimes it would be nice to hang out with people and women my age that I feel genuine connection to. So if you’ve figured it out, let me know😅 in the meantime, I’m going do what I can to just make life fun and fulfilling on my own. Stay strong. This is is such a hard thing to go through so I’m praying for those of us who are in this season.

And a funny thing is people that are related to you or friends with you or just know you in general don't realize how alone you feel and they disregard your feelings and they toss them to the wayside i have that happen to me quite a bit

Hon I'm giving you The biggest Airhug . My advice is to seek counseling if you haven't already . It would probably help you work through some of these feelings and gain a different perspective on your current situation . I'd also recommend taking a break from all social media platforms because as much as it can be a tool for connection , it can also feel isolating as well . So I'd say step away . If you have friends or family that you trust enough to confide in , I would definitely reach out to them . Sometimes when we keep our emotions bottled up they can feel magnified in our own minds .
