@@calwerz I'm sorry that romanians and Romanian was the majority even before hungarians came to europe and they kept this way until the fall of Austro-Hungary. See what lands actually historically belong to Hungary and which to Romania. The magyarisation process isolated these people in the heart of Romania. I don't know any reasons, besides political influences, of these people asking for independence since they live like in Hungary, surrounded by Hungarian and hungarians or magyars.

Romania was founded as a centralized state only in the 19 th century. The Dacians were not Romans. And the Romans themselves were new-comers to those lands, too.

Dacia was evacuated at 271 AD, and the roman population went back to Moesia. Later the free Dacians lived together with the barbaric Germanic tribes, and they assimilated. The modern Romanians are descendants of the Vlach Shepherds of the Balkan, and they arrived to Transylvania in the 13th century. Most of your core lexicon same as in the Albanian language.

I would like to remind you about the great relationship Turkey and Romania has had for more than 100 years. So many Turks have come to Romania, they opened businesses and are respectable citizens of this country. Not to mention the port city of Constanta, where you can see a model of friendship and good cohabitation between the two cultures and religions.
After 1878,when Romania and Turkey turned from adversaries to be example of friendly ties during 134 years of their diplomatic relations both countries have built a strong Partnership centered upon their common experience able to facilitate understanding issues the whole region being confronted with.
In 1934, when Turkey was led by the great state-man Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Romania together with Turkey, Yugoslavia and Greece set up the Balkan Entente, one year after the signature by the Romanian Foreign Minister Nicolae Titulescu and the Turkish Foreign Minister Tevfik Rustu Aras of the "Treaty of Friendship, Non-aggression, Arbitration and Conciliation between Romania and the Republic of Turkey".
This tradition was reflected in and influenced by the relaunch of the Romanian-Turkish relations after 1989, when they witnessed an ever ascending trend.
Turkey has constantly supported Romania‘s candidature for NATO, Romania having participated for the first time as a NATO member at the Istanbul Summit between 28-29 June 2004, which also has a symbolic value for the level of the relations between the two countries; in its turn, Romania strongly supports Turkey’s aspirations for European integration.
Trust me, Romanians are 1000 times friendlier to Turks than Hungarians are.
@@marcfaur There were nearly 1 million Romanians working in Turkey not to long ago. The only reason they left is because Romanians were allowed to travel and work in other European countries. I dont have a personal problem with Romanians (I have 2 Romanians working for me in the UK)but Romania betrayed the Ottomans working together with the Russians. The same Russians that screwed the Romanians with Moldova shortly after that.

How about a proper/balanced historical background These people are Ethnic Hungarian native to Transylvania what is known as Székely Land they are not foreigners.For roughly 1,000 years Transylvania was a territory of Hungry by the time of ww1 as we know was part of the Austrio-Hungrian empire. Looking at the figures geographical and ethnic maps past and present there was a Hungarian majority in the region with a significant Romanian minority this was the status quo for a long time until the end of the war when the empire collapsed.
As a consequence Hungry lost 75% of its territory in 1919 the Romanian army invaded and conquered Transylvania, as a form of revenge for past Hungarian repression regions along the modern border with hungry with a majority Hungarian population were to be depopulated and replaced with Romanians this would make any attempt to reunify Székely Land (the last majority Hungarian regions) with the rest of hungry geographically and ethnically impossible without a war and a second round of population transfer.
During ww2 both Hungry and Romania were lets say cautious allies of Nazi Germany Admiral Horthy Regent of hungry with German support pressured Romania into giving parts of Transylvania in return for a guarantee of Romania's territorial integrity. When Germany lost the borders were reversed and as we know both Hungry and Romania became communist states trapped behind the iron curtain. Under the Ceaușescu regime their was an open program of cultural suppression for ethnic Hungarians the legacy continues today which is why these people are calling for greater Independence\ autonomy from Bucharest.
