I would say romania has a good relationship with albania because they gave us our national anthem and were the first country to recognize albania. They also helped in the albanian civil war in 1997. We are also related languages

French here, I love Romanian food and the simplicity of Romanian people, who always seem to speak a bit of French. I also like their sense of sarcasm and dark humour.
that 's now, thirty years ago french was number one in all schools, especially in the rural area and small cities. after 1989, things changed and english came first.
At one point in history Romania even referred to France as their "older Latin sister." 🇫🇷 ❤ 🇷🇴

We got "Puna de Atacama" which is next to the Atacama desert but in the Argentine side 🙂 this region is amazing... Both countries are definitely worth visiting from North to South. I visited Romania in 1997 in a camper van. Loved the country and the people and hope to return some day. One thing that this video doesn't mention so much is just how beautiful the countryside is.

Today I learnt: The Romanian monarchy and the German monarchy were cousins.

The '90's in Romania was a no-laws land with lots of highlevel politicians and friends getting richer on previously established trade-routes and pacts and selling functional industries (alongside with non-functional) to the bigger bribe. So naturally a lot of the buyers were only interested in keeping the land for a quick buck in 10 years time and closed down the factory (selling everything from inside). Since Ceausescu micromanaged things (poorly, but still he knew about them) it wasn't a good thing keeping him alive in case he begun to tell stories about our new leaders and his former "best friends".

Seeing as Ceausescu got murdered by his old cronies in order to assure their indefinite grip on power, so 100% unlike the way it happened in France or Mexico, his death really brought nobody anything good.

I am from Slovakia and our national dish is basically variation of Romanian food. There in the history Romanian pastor of kettle migrated through the Carpathia to Slovakia and brought with them art of making cheese. Cheese is called branza in Romanian. We make cheese which we call bryndza and it is specific to our region and it is its name something like emental or mozzarella has its name. It does not means just cheese in our language but you can see its source from Romanian language is there. This cheese is used for our national dish and we can not go without it. Similar cheeses to our bryndza just call branza can be found in Romanian shops. They are however made out of cow milk not like our bryndza from sheep milk.

@@ND-ku4yo Yeah, Vlachs are cool people, the last link between Romanians and the rest of Latin world. I think they don't really consider themselves to be Romanian, just their cousins, and they can be found all over Balkans, not just in Serbia, though Serbia has the biggest population.

Nördisk In romanian,we pronounce 95% of the things the way we write them, for example in english apple is pronounced “epăl”so if it was a Romanian word we wold probably pronounce it like that.There are a some exceptions,of course,but normally it’s like this.I’d really like to tell you how dobrogea is pronounced but I can’t have an audio recording so I can’t really explain the way they are pronounced.
Should be pronounced "Dobroudzha" which is kind of a south slavic word... if you know what I mean...

As a Bulgarian, it's interesting to notice how many similarities there are between both countries, same weird weddings and traditions (my mother still keeps a piece of my baby hair :D), similar costumes and dances, same national dishes - mamaliga (or kachamak), sarmale (or sarma), same struggles through ottoman times, communism and EU accession, same historical mistakes (like joining the axis in ww2 in a desperate attempt to regain lost territories), same territorial disputes (we claim Northern Dobruja, they claim the South :D), same issues with an attached artificial country created out of nowhere (Romania - Moldova, Bulgaria - North Macedonia), same mentality in general, same gypsy problem, that is embarrassing both countries throughout Europe :D and so on. It's like we are some kind of brothers from a different mother.
Romanians don't linger for southern Dobrogea :) ...actually it's not really clear why we wnt there...from a distant point of view, it looks like in 1913 in Bucharest, everyone was scared of the new southern expanding neighbour :) ...so they got first step to Balcik...small invasion...nobody died from bullets, but from difteria...in that area were brought aromanians ( vlachs from the balkans/makedonia) - persecuted population of the Otoman Empire..so in 1940, when Bulgaria got it back, nobody made a big thing out of this loss. Populations exchange and that was it. It is nice to go in summer in Bulgarian Dobrogea, ina that "other country feeling"...Romanians love to visit Balcik because of the Queen Mary heritage..the Castle
Check out The Vlacho Bulgar Empire. Around 900-1300 we were one nation ocupping almost all the balkan peninsula until The Ottomans came in. That explain The presence of Aromanian and Megleno Romanian în Greece and Albania and Istro Romanian în Croatia and the similarities between România and his slav brothers + Greece and Albania.

We should collaborate more. Also, this is controversial but imo the Eastern European countries (including Poland and the Baltic countries) should form an alliance to protect ourselves from Russian attacks. Not just militarily, but also in informatic/economic/political ways. Russia is the only reason people call us Eastern European, because when they see Russian on the map, their eyes run away scared, leaving the impression that Europe is smaller than it is.

We are basically the same people, we were thracians the north thracians (dacians) got romanised and the sout thracians you bulgarians got slavisied thats the only difference. We were part of the same nation even after that in form of the Vlaho Bulgar empire. We are orthodox, same traditions and customs, same DNA. Romania and Bulgaria could literally unit to one country and beside the language there would be no single problem. I had a bulgarian girlfriend once and since then i realised how similar we are.
