    Hey! Nice windshirt! I need to snag one of those.

    I’m not connected or biased. It’s great kit. They also make a great light weight top and bottom you can wear while drying your regular gear after a river crossing etc.

    Based on the old British zoot suits that were made from used parachutes..popular with guys doing jungle warfare school etc.

      Yes sir! What are “wet dry drills” that the Brit’s do in the jungle? I’ve heard about them but we don’t use that term in the US Army.

      @@AdaptorDieChannel .part of your night routine..change out of wet kit into dry kit for sleeping in..then change back into the damp wet kit the following morning..basically the zoot suit is like pj.

    Great channel. Do you do the smock thing ? I dont fully understand them

    • @AdaptorDieChannel
      @AdaptorDieChannel  2 роки тому +1

      I really like a good smock. They’re cool! It’s a different concept compared to what the US Military does. But I like it. Prepared Pathfinder (a British Mil guy) explains his 1st 2nd and 3rd line kit very well. He has a series on UA-cam. For smock related stuff, that’ll be the 1st line kit video.

    Personally I Think windbreakers and the like are pretty underrated pieces of gear. If it’s not absolutely pouring rain and your moving quickly a windbreaker is a great choice. This seems like a good alternative to the ecws one too

    • @AdaptorDieChannel
      @AdaptorDieChannel  2 роки тому +1

      I think windbreakers get annoying because it’s just one more thing to pack and I usually already have a rain jacket. With that said, this suit is SOOO compact and light, you can’t go wrong.

    Beanie on top of the oversized hood? Care to explain uour theory?

    • @AdaptorDieChannel
      @AdaptorDieChannel  5 місяців тому +1

      When it’s crazy windy and the hood won’t stay up, I have put my beanie over top of it while resting. It keeps the hood up, creates a vapor barrier, and keeps my head and neck area warm. It doesn’t look cool, but I’m warm. It works for me with this specific piece of kit. I don’t run around with this configuration, just in the long halt or patrol base type situation where I’m breaking out the snivel gear.

      @@AdaptorDieChannel oh crap. I hadn't considered that. I remember thinking they should put a draw cord in the hood. Thanks. That's a good trick I'll remember 😁

    Seems like there could be a lot of great uses for this. Quick camo, an extra layer for wind or cold, PJs, or like Steve above me said, something to wear while your clothes dry. I may have to snag one and see what it works for.

      I think you are right… you need a set! In dry climates I could see this having an even bigger application since you wouldn’t generally carry rain gear most of the year. But it gets windy AF in the low/high desert.
