I'm 61 and it still gives me the creeps. That opening music/sound/noise gave me nightmares. Not a patch on Thunderbirds but just as memorable but for the wrong reasons 😎
I also used to watch this series back in around '64 or so in Australia. Curious - I just realised how realistically human the key characters are. Roberta Leigh and her partner did an extraordinary job in creating the series with next to no money all those years ago - apparently the ten minute pilot was made in a 'filthy garage'...
I’m 65 and loved this series as a 4 year old 😊😊 I fell in love withe the beautiful Venusian Marla…of course 😄😄😄 It disappeared for six decades and its wonderful to see it again…especially restored digitally…and….in colour too 😲😲😲 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😊 The stories are brilliant…as are the puppets, the voices, gadgets and scenery 😊👍👍 Far ahead of their time…Roberta Leigh was a multi-talented woman….for 1962….this was genial work 😊 Thank you Iain for restoring my fond memories of childhood and one if the crown jewels of British early tv and scifi too 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😊😉
I was 3 in 1962 and have no memory of this show at all. Not surprising I guess. I absolutely love it though. I didn’t discover this even existed until yesterday.
@@IKP1000 I made a video of how to put your playlist in the order you want. That's if you wish to move this number 11 episode between 10 and 12. It's relatively quick and simple.
Thoroughly enjoying these - for the first time in well over 50 years. Favourite TV show as a kid. Seeing them in colour is real bonus too. Well done Iain and a big thanks.
Thanks for the kind comment and encouragement Peter! That's what keeps me going when, as today , working on the next one, the software isn't working properly and everything keeps crashing....
This was one of my favorite TV shows when I was a young kid (along with Supercar). But I actually found some of the episodes a bit scary. Even now, you can see that the plots are a lot darker than the usual Saturday morning cartoon fare back then. You're doing a good job restoring them--in full color. Super!
This series touches on a lot of heavy subjects-poaching, slavery, terrorism, and a disease caused by people being too long in zero gravity, even fake meat. The woman who created this series and wrote the episodes was way ahead of her time.
Thank you so much for this, I was very young when this was on the telly but i remember it very fondly. For some reason IMDB lists this program as Planet Patrol ?
Hi Stephen, it was renamed Planet Patrol in the USA to avoid confusion with the 1950s American live-action series of the same name. There's a lot more here about the series on Wiki. Enjoy! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_Patrol_(1962_TV_series)
These are more entertaining than any new Star Wars film from Hollywood. The sound effects are charming. John Williams would have ruined it with his annoying music.
Thank you!!! I will never forget the music of the Galasphere 347!!! More than 50 years ago on Sunday mornings...
I'm 64 and still getting a thrill from this series.

Probably the greatest show on earth.

Excellent stuff. Loved this as a kid.

My pleasure! Thanks for the kind comment. I'm 60 so missed it first time round.
This really deserves the colour treatment; it was truly ahead of its time.
I was absolutely fascinated by this aged 4 in 1962. Honestly I still remember it..Amazing to see this again.

Now 67 and still love this show. Even better with your great work.
Thanks for your kind comment Steven! So glad you are enjoying it.
Or Derek, sorry ;-)

No wonder we children of the 60s grew up to love techno.
Thanks for this Iain-thought Marla looked a little hungover in the opening frames but thats what you get working for Colonel Rayburn i guess!!😂😂

Thanks for the work, I appreciate these colorized episodes.
Thank you for your kind comment. That reminds me to get on with the next episode ;-)
@@IKP1000 Are these coloured versions available to purchase.
I must have missed Space Patrol when I was a kid. But at 65 years old, it's really enjoyable
If you lived in the U.S. everyone missed it.
This is as good as anything, better than most crap. I love it:)
Phew, that was a close call, I was sweating.
:-) There's never a dull moment on Space Patrol is there?!
Well done, Mr Petrie, a great idea to colourise the episodes. Although I've got the Network box-set, it's a treat to see your versions.
4:37 ^^
Splendid work and many thanks for uploading :^)
Husky’s got a way with words.
Excellent👍🏻
So they made a Japanese puppet 17:22 for a 3 second shot? Thats dedication.
Who else can't stop laughing! This is amazing. All the stop action shows back then including Super Car but this one is the funniest HAHAahAHAHHHA
The second Space Patrol villain I know of that sounds like he’s from Brooklyn

They replete this on Talking Pictures . I think Joe Meek did the intro and outro music.
WOW! I loved this show! I never knew that it was in color. Did you do it? Awesome work! Thank you for this! ✝️❤️✌️
It was not in color. The tuber gave it color.
Great kids tv programmes unlike the cgi today and playstation games and cartoons 🤔🙄
These are more entertaining than any new Star Wars film from Hollywood. The sound effects are charming. John Williams would have ruined it with his annoying music.
This really isn't a kids program thanks to Husky😆
I would love to buy this set in color on dvd or bluray. Where can I get it ?
0:20 Raroo RAroo roo roo RA roo LOL
Ra-roo ra-rooo roo roo roo raroo!
I just wish they'd decide between Galasphere 024 and 347...lol
There's supposed to be about twenty of them!!
Never seen this show. must not have aired much in America.
Was produced in 1962....You probably weren't alive then.
7:18 ROTF hahaahhhahahaahaaaa
This marionette program investigation was exponentially better than the New York 9/11 event! 🤔🌇
Doesn't the woman sound like Miss Piggy?
It’s 1962 but still, the sexist remarks are...remarkable.
Stop imposing your wet-blanket modern-day woke orthodoxy on a program made for kids 60 years ago
Those fucking voices
