As usual, Dr. Berg has zeroed in on a good cure and re-balancing solution. I had the classic frequent urination problems, couldn't sleep more than 4 hours. Jumping up to go all day long. I followed this regimen carefully and my symptoms disappeared in three weeks, actually a little less. Thank you good sir; I am so happy now.

For the last 3 years I have been diagnosed with Interstitial cystitis. I have been on Keto - No sugar and no carbohydrates since August 2019. I have noticed a considerable change in nocturnal urination. I went from 18 times x night to 4-2 x night. I was using so much toilet paper and had to nap during the day. When you get up so many times at night you can't possibly have a good and productive life. As soon as i cut down ALL sugar and ALL carbs, I saw some results. I emptied ALL of my cupboards (non keto items) all at once. The best thing I ever did. God Bless Dr. Berg !

I don't eat much sugar BUT the culprit for me was grains. I admit, I love them. Sandwiches, rice, corn tortilla chips, etc. I quit all of them and IMMEDIATELY decreased the number of times I peed at night. I was going at least every 2 hours and day or night, whenever I felt the urge to go, it was so intense I didn't know if I could make it to the bathroom in time. Within a week of NO grains the urgency was completely gone and I was sleeping through the night without needing to get up even once. Sleep is so much better now!

I dealt with this for years and no longer experience it. Yes, it can be caused by diabetes but for me it was anxiety related. If your frequent urination is anxiety related then it will go away once you reduce your anxiety, reduce your stress (including reducing stimulants) and learn to under react and even embrace the symptom. Before I realised that it was anxiety I actually used to worry that it was being caused by diabetes, which made my anxiety worse. I think it is definitely wise though to cut out sugar as it is not good for diabetes or anxiety. I learned about fasting on one of your videos though a few years back and boy does fasting make a difference to your anxiety. Keep up the good work :)

Number #1 -- I stopped sugar six months ago. I have dropped from 250 to 200 pounds.
I drink more water more often during the day.
Number #2 -- I drink more water in the 2-3 hours BEFORE I sleep, probably about 24-32 ounces of water.
This gives my body the water needed to do it nightly tasks of cleaning the body internally.
In the first hour after I awaken I drink 16-24 ounces of water.
Result -- I urinate less frequently at night 1-2 times at most. When I do urinate it is a good amount with no strain.
I sleep much better with one less hour in bed each night because I am so well-rested.

For about 6 months, without fail, I used to wake up to pee after 2 hours of sleep, then after another 3 hours of sleep. I had a heavy cold recently, and I was so tired that I slept all night for a few nights.Since then I never wake up after 2 hours for a pee and only wakeup after about 5 or 6 hours now. I think your brain gets used to the same thing sometimes and repeats a pattern. So there's probably a few reasons why we wake up to pee.

    • @maricamaas5555
      @maricamaas5555 4 роки тому +1

Having a cold can mean the body is curing itself; getting rid of toxins by working up a fever, expelling mucus, etc.
Regular daily fasting (16/8 eating window), as well as extended periods assists the body in detoxification; can also be combined with coffee enema, gallbladder/liver cleanse etc.
For increased metabolism try adding IBT (Inclined Bed Therapy.)

I used to urinate a lot at night, and I think it has something to do with melatonin and all the blue light nowadays, so your body doesn't know when it's night. When I bought a pair of blue light blocker glasses, right away, I noticed I would only urinate once or not at all at night. So that could also be a reason for excessive urination at night. I recommend everyone to try it, you will probably sleep deeper and and have less disturbances at night, because your body actually knows it's night time. The glasses are only 10-20$. So the risk reward is huge.

As a Type II diabetic I would often get up for or five times a night to pee. Then I went on an extended fast and within a week I was sleeping through the night. After the fast I gradually went back to my old eating pattern, lots of fruit, lots of sugar and after a couple of months I was back to getting up several times a night. Now that I have eliminated sugars, fruits and grains from my diet it is a rare night that I get up to pee. A really good clue about it being s sugar problem was when I wiped down the rim of the toilet with some toilet paper and shreds of it stuck to the very sticky urine. My thought was that when the body has been poisoned it tries every way possible to get rid of the poison. Sweat and urine are two good avenues.

One other thing which makes you wake up at night to urinate is sleep apnea. There are many people who eat healthy and take care of their fitness and still wake up several times a night to urinate. I had this happen to me to the point where I couldn't function after waking up at least six times a night. Your body tries to signal you when you stop breathing for extended periods of time and in most cases will give you shaking leg syndrome however if this doesn't work it will wake you up to urinate.

I prefer full fat everything, whole organic milk with D3, whole milk plain yogurt, Greek yogurt, all organic, I could eat an entire can of ripe olives, non GMO, my smoothies are whole milk plain yogurt unsweetened if I can get it, 100 gms spinach, 1 or 2 tablespoons organic peanut butter, almond milk unsweetened plain or vanilla extract added, some organic ground flaxseed, collagen powder, organic, plus about a cup and half organic berries, blueberries, strawberries, plus 1 whole organic banana. I may have left something out. I try not to drink a lot of liquids in the evening because I will be up and down at least 3 to sometimes 4, 5, times until I just give up and just get up around 5am!!! What do you recommend? I think I might need B vitamins, potassium, and K2. I study nutrition for a hobby! 🤣❤ and maybe Zinc and Magnesium, otherwise I am overall pretty healthy, have mobility issues, and something else I do not wish to discuss here in this open dialogue. I reduced my coffee consumption to only one cup and added herbal organic teas. I've pretty much switched to organic light maple syrup or organic stevia for sweetener and sometimes organic honey. What do you think doc? I also eat mostly organic vegetables and lots of leafy greens plus I love eggs, organic pastured chicks. Veggies high in protein. Like bean, legumes, chickpeas, organic tomatoes. Etc.
