    Good job explaining the oil change procedures

  • @tommyperkinshuntingfishing8424

    Good morning Eddie, let me tell you a little story about my experience with that Shell Rotella oil. Back when I was hauling logs for a living, the owner of the logging outfit bought us 4 brand new peterbuilts with them big caterpillar engines in em. This slick willy salesman had been trying to sale him a barrel of high dollar synthetic oil that was a little over twice the price per drum as the Rotella. So he told us to bring our trucks in and we put the Rotella in 2 trucks and the synthetic in the other 2. He said run em 10,000 miles and then bring em in for an oil change. So we did that and he took a sample from each truck and sent them off to a lab. The high dollar synthetic oil was broke down if I remember correctly almost twice more than the Rotella. So nothing but Rotella for my tractor.

    2020 1626 HST owner here. Absolutely great video. Thank you! I recently have been having an issue with my hydrolics sputtering and it sounds like it is sucking air sometimes. I also hear a bad knock but the motor runs good. I'm hoping my hydrolic pump doesn't have a bad piston. Maybe the filters are bad? I dunno

    Preciate this video! I got a Mahindra 2816 needing a full service so it's given me some good guidance. Side note, on the 6-8 minute mark, did you put the large o-ring on differently on the fuel filter? Looked like it came out of the groove, but you put it back on around the outside? Either way, takes nothing away from the upload, just thought I'd help ya out for helping us out ya know. If I didn't see it wrong of course.

    Do you think that oil goes black so quick because its lifting all the contaminants from the engine and holding them in the oil the same way the detergent in your washing machine does with with your washing. I would look at it as a good thing as it's lifing all that crud out your engine and drawing it through your oil filter and all that would be left would be the carbon soot from the ignition.

    • @papawsplace
      @papawsplace  Рік тому +1

      I'm not sure why this oil turns black so much faster than some of the other oils. I know back in the day Quaker State oil would turn black faster than other oils also.

    • @OShackHennessy
      @OShackHennessy Рік тому

      Some soot leaks into the oil pan through the gap in the piston rings after the combustion process. It’s normal for diesel engines and happens fairly quickly but it’s not a problem.
