FYI, 16inch geissele uppers run a “geissele length” gas system which is basically geissele’s proprietary intermediate gas length. Although I do believe their older 16inch uppers were actually mid length.
@@MBenda2199 yep, intermediate and geissele of which are so close to each other but not identical. Essentially 16-18” rifles run the most efficient when paired with such gas lengths. Allegedly.
My 11.5 super duty upper has run pretty good out of the box. I’ve got about 5500rds through it suppressed with no issues. Pretty well gassed and plenty accurate for my needs and skill level 👌🏻
Sorry about the wind noise in this one. My Ronin will not balance with the shotgun mic on the top of the camera so we had to use the factory mic for this video.
I got my 16in super duty last year around Christmas and have run 2200 rounds through it exactly and geissele knocked it out of the park with this one. I was able to get a 1in group with it at 100 yards using a 4x acog, and I have heard people say that theirs won't run steel or underpowered cheaper stuff like pmc but mine runs anything i put in it from tula to Hornady match. I like it so much I am going to buy another one.
I've got a KP-15 lower itching for an upper, and G$ is the top option at the moment. I want a 20" barel for it though, so I guess I'll be running the DDC upper and rail, and a Criterion barrel. It's next on my list once I finish up my three LR-308's.
Maybe I imagined it, but I thought Geissele used to make a super duty 18” rifle. Maybe before they switched to the mod 1. Do you gain that much velocity going from 18-20”?
im super annoyed that the new QD insert isnt anti rotational. kind of a deal breaker for me, i know its petty but my "mod 0?", without the insert, was anti rotational.
Hello, I am a sports shooter and I am French living in France. I just received my Geissele automatics super Duty in 14.5 inches. I am a little disappointed because the thickness of the lower is 1.5 millimeters thick, the thickness of an AK 47. Compare to other brands like Daniel defense or Aero precision, or colt it’s very, very thin. It’s a 2023 model. I saw in youtube other Geissele automatics that are thicker. Do you think that the fact that it is very thin can be a robustness problem? 1.5 millimeters is very, very thin. Do you think I made the right choice? Merci beaucoup. Best regards
Firstly it’s cool to know what folks from other countries can own firearms wise so thanks for taking the time to comment. Regarding lower thickness: I didn’t feel as if the lowers were thin enough to be a point of concern. However, you could always email Geissele for some added reassurance!
@@distastedefense Hello, Thank you for your answers. Do you have an address, because for me it’s a little difficult to find it. Thanks you very much Best regards
For me, the RC2 mini + 11.5 was the best gas wise. This is coming from the lefty perspective though. It will bark, a bit more compared to an RC2 full size of course.
@@distastedefense no doubt. I just usually don’t sell duty rifles because I shoot them a lot. If I could only have one it’d problem be a 14.5 bcm elw but my 11.5 is my nighttime gun and I like having both as there’s not much I can’t do between them

KAC, LMT, Hodge, HK, Radian. Then what, pay a grand less, get a geissele and it’s a bad deal? FYI you can get a G upper for a better bargain than a BCM if you wait for a sale (G does those a lot)

Is there proprietary gas length longer than mid length?

How does the 16" with their proprietary gas system feel? Is it noticeably smoother than a 16" mid length?
