mine too ! ive got the bug, i put 2 appal pips in a pot and they are growing ,i also did the same with 2 conkers and the conkers are 9in high now . to say i am buzzing is a understatement.
I have stored my Black Cherry 🍒 (Prunus serotina) seeds in a cool dry location that is in the refrigerator. I have observed that during seed storage, some of the cherry pits were germinating without cracking the cherry pits. So all cherry pits do not need to be cracked because cherry pits can still germinate. I did not cold stratify them. I just kept the Black Cherry seed pits viable for longer periods of time. I have collected Black Cherries in Late July. After collecting Black Cherry seeds, I kept them dry for about 2 days before storing them in a cool dry location that is in the refrigerator. You can germinate cherry seed pits without cracking the cherry pit.
When you put the seeds in the plastic container for the fridge do you seal the container or just lay the lid on the top. Thanks I had no idea that the seed was inside I would have planted the pit whole right out of the cherry. Thanks for the good information.
I put the seed in a paper towel when I crack it to prevent it from going everywhere-I think I saw someone else do this. Previously I was searching the floor for seeds and pieces
I’ve seen other videos, not use the fridge, because technically, they were already cold stratified, when bought at the store because they were already refrigerated. They will germinate within a week or so.
@@resettheworld7211 no luck. They molded. No sprouts. Not sure what I did wrong. Funny you commented now because I just started collecting seeds again for attempt number two.
Do you have to water the seeds while they’re in the refrigerator? I have tried this method with apple seeds and the paper dries out and the apple seeds don’t sprout.
I put a bunch of seads on the fridge two weeks ago today and a bunch are already showing signs of growth. Do they need to stay in the full 2-3 months to keep growing? Will they die if I take them out early?
@@jahone694 I left them in until the roots were long. I also took out the ones that were only long enough to have a small curve to the root. Just a few days after I took them out they all started to sprout. They will grow as long as there is a defined root growing from the seed even if its quite small. Quite a few of them died from their roots getting mushy and then my dirt got bugs in it so I only have 3 left right now. I also grew three healthy peach trees the same way. I also didn't have a proper setup yet so they didn't get proper sun for a while. They needed a lot more sun than they were getting by my east facing window. I found you get a much better result if you put thim in wet dirt and cinnamon instead of a wet paper towel and cinnamon when they need to stay in the fridge. So many got moldy with the paper towel and I didn't see any significant progress in growth until I put them in dirt. Just make sure to check on them often and to aerate the soil regularly.
I used the sharp pliers to only make a small hole snipping off just the end of the pit. Then I used cuticle clippers to do the rest since they are sharp and thin they can get in-between the seed and the pit good without causing unwanted damage.
Thank you so much for this video! Maybe I can finally enjoy some success growing cherry trees from seed.
This just changed my life ...omg

I am literally stunned... I'll have to try this method because I'm not having luck so far

Thank you for the helpful video. When should I plant them outside?
waiting with you. ...for answer
@@nkel6111plant them outside in early spring
after the last frost of winter, early spring!
Very good job nice video Thanks
Hi Victor! Thanks a lot! 👍
I’ve seen that you should add cinnamon to the seeds to avoid bacterial growth
Planting two hundred bushes seeds right now. (Just found out that the bush in my backyard was a cherry bush and finally grew them.)
Would I do an Apple tree seeds and lemon tree seeds the same way..:curious 😊
Thanks for the cherry tree information 👍🏼
Can I plant them in the fall ?
it takes years before most fruits start to grow fruit and cherries is one of them around 3-5 years
Love this amazing video 🥰
Do u continue to water it when in fridge in container
In my experience, you don't usually have to. It doesn't hurt to check, but you basically create a closed ecosystem so the water can't escape.

when do we want them sprouted for? Spring?
Just put 30 seeds in the fridge using your method. Fingers crossed 🤞
Any luck?

I'll find a very difficult to hear the things you are saying with all that loud background music.
You're difficult. It was easy for me.
Do we need to re spray the seeds with water during 3 months germination? If yes please tell duration.
Few months or three months ?
thank you🍒✔

Do ot early....
How'd they turn out?

Wow, 3 months is a while. I thought they would take a little while like apple
I use a vice to slowly apply pressure until it cracks
Good good
any one who tried this technique and really worked?i did this for blue berrries did not work though
Does he say 3 weeks in the fridge?
I did this for my guava. But they didnt geeminate. I dunno why. They just mold and die
Using hammer made it so easy and fast to open
What is the best kind of soil to use?
generally good-draining soil, maybe mix some sand and compost in
whats most important is where one is located and the season. what can u share ???
i live in zone 7 and they grow fine here, google says zones 5-9. plant it outside after the last frost of winter
Why do we need to freeze them. In the old centuries there were no fridges. How did they grow their trees?
the fridge/freezer is supposed to simulate the winter months :)
To save you from anxiety of waiting 3 months just put the seeds into a prepared (humid) ground
One day you'll wake up and find all of them grown
This is the way that always worked with me
Why do you have 2 cups?
water collection, hole in the first cup to go down and in the second cup itll evaporate
You damage the nail cutter. With a wooden vise or a small metal vise.
Darm i damaged all but 2 of my seeds 😢
you place seeds upside down in earh wrong
ITS SO HARD TI CRUSH THE OUTSIDE SEES WITHOUT DAMAGING THE INSIDE ONE AHHHHHHHH

Please say 'waTer' not 'waDer'. I hate Americanisation (bastardisation)of the English language. Other than that, nice video, Thank you.
3 months is not quick
3 months to germinate..and 3-5 years to harvest..shesh ill just buy it
More importantly, the cherries from the seed trees will be nothing like the cherries they came from.
Ha!
its still very cool to do!
@@chugginbeers but they'll be healthier for your body, probably, having not been grown with chemical fertilizers ever at all
Lol what if you just wanna grow some cool different trees/plants?!?
DO NOT REFRIGERATE!!!!!
