Worked at guest service for two years. You can return upto $500 every year, BUT since it’s salvaged items, he will probably only get the price it was salvaged out at. So the lowest price in the system. So that’ll take forever haha
No! Much of it was clearly marked lower than $5.00 when Target had it on clearance. Nothing worse than going to a liquidation store and seeing a price higher than the last clearance price for said item when it was in its store of origin. Bad idea. Prices all MUST best least 1.00 cheaper than last marked clearance price.
Your overthinking it Make 5 piles, $1,$2,$3,$4,$5 have a tent sale in a mall parking lot on a 3 day weekend, employ some needy people. At the end let the needy people take what they want. Then call St. Vincent D'Paul to pickup the rest. YOur profit will be about $30-40,000.
Personally, I would quick sort things / pull clearance tags / zip tie shoes. (That was a great suggestion!) Anything MSRP over 20.00, I'd eBay / poshmark / etc. Anything under 20.00, I'd do your idea of $5.00 sale days one week, $3.00 second week. 1.00 third week. I'd donate anything left at that point to get the dregs off my plate. You could use week four and do a fill a bag for $5.00 sale as an alternative to donating.
Selling a lot of this stuff on ebay would be a disaster between time taken listing, shipping, dealing with returns and answering buyer questions. A little higher margin given time wasted won't be worth it, perhaps just cherry pick some higher valued items. Selling on consignment would work great as you'd move volume and could still get 4x your money. Renting a store for a month and advertising big blowout sale would work great too. If you price items at $3 would think many people gladly buy 6-7 pieces of new clothing for $20.
Ive been exactly where youre at now. My reasoning was the same, the ROI on paper was what convinced me. We did eBay listings and I'll NEVER do it again. Between the Listings, questions, and returns made it a nightmare. The returns especially bare a cost you don't really factor in we experienced about 1 out of 3 items being returns. eBay's new return policy makes it wayyy to easy to return clothes. consignment shops wouldn't be a bad idea, but it'd be tough to keep your stuff and the shops stuff separated. The business would have to inventory it, give you a sales report weekly etc. Sounds like a nightmare to me. IMO if i did it again I'd either have warehouse sales or wholesale it to someone else, take your profit and move on! Just my opinion though! Good luck!
Admittedly I had little experience selling clothes. But after 200+ listings your get better at it. But even Amazon's return rate is 25-30% on clothes. People wear it, may like it or may not. Doesn't fit like they want etc, it's coming back. New clothes are a night mare I'd never do again.
WTF? I just went into Target and there are racks and racks of clothing on sale 30-70%. Clothing is oversaturated EVERYWHERE. My advice to you: Open a popup shop and advertise everything for $5 and/or one bag full for $10. Anywho, you're lucky to have storage space :)
I wouldn't remove the tags. I'd put a color coded tag over them. Then you can just put up a color coded price chart, adjusting prices however you want.
Heck, he's got enough merch to open his own consignment store. Id hire a couple college kids majoring in business , talk to a professor + see if they'd like to maybe get extra credit, earn extra $, whatever.
Target sells their own brands, and are known for overpricing their merchandise. ie. you can't buy high end jeans there, it is all high priced and only their jean own brand. Poshmark would not want them. Not like they sell Chanel handbags or something.
Some consignment stores, especially kids one will buy it. Esp the shoes. I’d take those to a kids consignment store. Maybe brand new bathinsuits at a beach consignment store. But mostly they skip target unless it’s unique. I’ve worked at 5. Managed one that did 1 million a year in sales
Not sure how long ago this was filmed but do you have much left? I wish there was a way to see some more of what you bought... Im a lil on the thicker side and makes it so hard to find clothes my size that fit me good... So if I could just buy this way I would be stuck with it and wouldn't have a choice but to like it.. Right?? No I'm seriously asking...
quickest way to get the clearance tag off......scissors. cut off the clearance part and leave the regular part. atleast on the tags that have those areas separate. on the ones that dont....cut off the clearance part and leave the rest of the tag with no pricing. and id just do any of this on the items that are under 5 dollar. even still, 11,000 tags will be a nightmare to do. even just doing the 5 and under tags and having even 5,000 of those, youd have to look at all 11,000 to find the 5's. itll suck. leave the tags alone........if it dont sell at 5, then, 4, then 3, then 2. etc.....itll eventually get down under the clearance price then youre in the clear and you spent zero dollars on processing tags.
I have found the best way to remove sticky price tags is using a blow dryer. I clamp it to my table and hold the tag in my hand and just heat the sticky price tag for a few second and then peel it off. I think you have a great investment I would hate to see you waste it because of a little work to remove tags. I think removing the tags is worth it.
Hi I really need to get into this kind of business but I don’t know the best site to order from, please where did you get this pallet from again? Your response will be greatly appreciate.
Hey as far as the tags are concerned for the clearance stuff, have a blow dryer blow it on the tag for a minute less than a minute you know and almost immediately the heat from the blow-dryer will melt the glue that is holding the tags on. And you don't get the tearing or anything like that with it either. I used to be a reseller myself and that's how I learned to get the tags off real quick take care Deb
15 seconds a tag --> 4 tags a minute -> 240 tags an hour -> @ $10/hour that's 4.2 cents per tag. Worth it. Can also sort by size/garment type at the same time.
This is the worst time to give. Everyone is already giving so much that charities are being overloaded, but come February, people will snap out of the giving spirit and charities will be struggling. THAT is the time to give! And that will time out well, because I plan to be done selling by then and that would be when the remainder gets donated
Coming from a family who has been unable to get out from under a huge amount of used book and antique store inventory after closing their shop, I would highly suggest selling it wholesale as quickly as possible. Absolutely don't list individually on eBay. The time, paid labour, shipping, returns, eBay and PayPal fees, etc, not to mention the huge amount of competition for this type of clothing on eBay is so not worth it. I would try to sell it by the box to stores, or do a pop up scenario like you mentioned. I would def go for the quick flip. The less you have to handle the individual items, the better. The longer it languishes, it will start to get stale and out of fashion in a hurry, and storage isn't free.
How did they get in touch with you or vice versa? Did you have a pre-existing relationship with the store going out of business? Did you see they were going out of business and contact them? How did the negotiations go?
I think you should sell it the fastest way. Popup sale, so in a few days it is over. If you consign, you may not sell everything quick, what if it sits for a few months in the shops not good for you (and you have to rely on them to get it prepared for sale. That could take them a long time). Selling on ebay would be crazy because it would be labor intense and the stuff may not sell fast either. Mystery ebay boxes may work, but specify no returns or that will be a mess.
Hello, I was wondering how you made out with all of these pallets of clothing. Would be great to hear an update to this in a video or simply a comment back from you. I have recently began to sell some clothing on Poshmark. I would love to have the room to tackle a project like this. Thanks.
I like your pop up quick sale Idea. I think day 1-3 should be half off lowest ticked price. Day 4-7 60% off. Day 8-10 70% off. Day 11-14 80% off. Then consider donating whats left to get a nice tax write off.
You can always make money, but you can’t get back your time. And time is limited for all of us. I think your best bet is try to sale it all to stores and at least double your money. Yes eBay would be cool but the time investment is not worth it. Sell quick, sell all of it and move on. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
How is ebay not worth it? Many people spend more time and money per item acquiring these items. Just need to be smart about it and sell the higher value items on ebay and those valued under 15 on those other ways he talked about. Time investment is all dependent on the individual person. A billionaires time and somone working at minimum wage is completely different.
I agree, sell it all to a liquidator, post it on FBA or sell it to a few mom and pop shops for 1/3 the retail price. Just get rid of it, most of it is likely fast fashion anyways.
I'd do warehouse sales, consignment store and ebay. Renting floor space is awfully expensive and maybe you can move it all without the extra expense. Good luck, I hope you make a hefty profit! Also I'd watch all 7 hours haha.
More than enough product there to test all your options and see which works best. Good experiment to improve future investments. Or just light it all on fire, I hear it gets cold up there in the winter.
Hi there, for starters you could sort it into winter and summer gear, except shoes and kids stuff. Don't be overwhelmed with this, take a good break over the holidays, and you will figure exactly what you need to do. You've been doing a great job so far. Merry Christmas.
@@Syzygy629 ebay would be SOOOO much work. Yes you make more, but So much time to list, pack, ship. The garage sale/sale to other resellers is the way to go.
@@wiseandfunfox I've had yard sales before + personally I'd rather take a whipping than ever have one again. Dragging it out, weather, bugs, assholes, dragging it back in ect. I'd photo it, post it and shelve it+ forget about it until time to go grab it off the shelf to ship. This couple bought kmart store clothing, I've bought 2 lots. It also has me bookmark the store+ looking @ their other items. www.m.ebay.com/sch/i.html?sid=marknmandee&isRefine=true&_pgn=1
TJ MAXX AND OUTLET MALLS USE MSRP that are totally meaningless. The Target items first sold at those ticketed prices and MAY have been on unmarked sale(s) before going on those marked clearance prices. The Target original prices aren't just fabricated to make the "outlet" price look amazing. Designer Outlets are a joke for the most part.
Not a chance. Many business import from manufacturers at very low cost. They are not going to waste their time on this which has to many varities of products they most likely do not sell. Nigeria also imports a lot of use clothing at very low cost which would be more profitable.
43 Hooks Pond Road,Mount Olive,MS.39119 Twins grandmother died and left them homeless. They are size 10 and size 13 if you had planned on helping out those in need
You are insane putting your address here and info about your twins and their sizes!!! Absolutely insane. I hope they do not go missing because you wanted to possibly score some free junk from Target. Go to a small city near you( if you're in a small town), and dumpster dive.. watch UA-cam videos and learn how. You'd be amazed at how much you can find this way. Or to a local charity or church and ask if they have a free clothes program. But her wiz lady, or man, do not put your address on UA-cam. My freaking Gawwwwd.
I think it’s awesome that you are doing that well to be able to buy that much inventory. I hope I can get enough money to someday be able to buy at least half of what you bought.
we've bought target stuff as well, we spent an entire day peeling tags and still had boxes and boxes left, so we started just tearing off the entire tag , and just sell them on the 5 dollar table, it worked out.
Except for the fact that mystery boxes are against tos.. Might as well do as much of it as you can until Ebay really puts a foot down. Just do yourself and everyone else a favor and make them good mystery boxes. Plenty of ROI for them. There are far too many scammers selling junk mystery boxes these days =( Cheers guys.
How much would those go for if you put them on pallets with a minimum bid that would make you a nice profit? Maybe you could just post mixed pallet auctions on a few and see what happens...
Honestly, I'd remove them tags for you for free lol but I'm on the other side of the world :/ ..I'd empty the box on the sofa, put the tv on and get de-tagging!
I totally forgot you were in Wisconsin. Hi neighbor. You know 7-Mile Fair is open year round & have buildings that you can set up monthly. Try calling the office & see what they have available & the cost. I think you can see on their website, also. I'm not sure about Wilmot or Northern Wisconsin.
@Ryan Actually, in America it is cheaper to eat unhealthy food and drinks than eating healthy. :( It is very expensive to eat healthy! Also, 38 is not huge in a man's pants. Not sure why you consider that huge.
I think its pretty cool that you are pretty much the pioneer in this business. Its incredible how strong you are as a business man. I bet you end up inventing a better platform for everyone to sell their own.
One acronym for what to do with all this - FBA Enterprise. Just get everything to Amazon and forget you ever bought it. You will likely pull in at the very least 100k in profits. Best part its all passive and you can focus on your other day to day job or start working on a new hustle.
I’d only be able to write off my cost which would ultimately end up in a tax savings of like $1500 or so. I would be better off not buying it in the first place if I just donated it all, from a business standpoint at least.
When the items have a white tag on them that says def salvage it means something is wrong, for example a tiny rip, deodorant mark, or a stain. When they have the white sticker with missed salvaged means when the item was clearanced out it wasn't pulled off the floor at the time it was supposed to or it was a return. When theres no white sticker but a yellow or red clearance tag then that just means it was clearanced out.
Milwauakee m18 Cordless Heat Gun for the labels. Expensive tool but you will not regret it once you you pull those labels off clean every single time like they were never there
I think which ever selling option you decide to go with any or all will make you money , good buying on your part , well done....be a bit of a headache to quit all those pallets but good buying all the same , well done...
Used to work for goodwill Easter seals in mn they call this new buy and put red tags on the stuff and up price it. If you can find a market to sell you will make so much!! We had to cross off all target words though on tags, because you can return any target brand item with out a receipt.
I'm in a similar boat. I picked up a TON of items that I will have a hard time turning a profit on ebay with. Not that you couldn't turn a profit on all that on ebay, but listing each item would be insanely labor intensive. If I just listed everything so I got at least $1 profit/sale I'd easily triple my money but I'd be laboring far under minimum wage.. I think I'll stick to $20+ items under 1lb for online listings.. I'll have to set up at a flea market or do a yard sale and try to get $1-$5 off each item. the funny thing is I have mountains of wireless keyboards and mice, all of which have good new energizer AAA batteries. This is a very recent lot so all the batteries haven't been draining out for months. Anyway.. Worst case scenario I get 4 batteries from each kb/m worth about $.75-$1 each new even if the electronics are broken. Sell them off in bulk for .25 cents each and I'd make my money back on each pallet.. not including the hundreds of items left.. Found a s3 watch in my last pallet which almost paid for the whole gaylord. Man I love this game!
Springtime flea market. Dump it on some tarps at 5 bucks each and let the people dig. You'll be surprised how folks like to shop that way. In the meantime list the better items on eBay. Especially multiple listing items. Good luck.
Target has cool band T shirts!! You could return some high end stuff to a local target!! Lol MERRY CHRISTMAS!!🎄 OHHH shit I just realized this was last year, it just popped up on my feed!! How did you get rid of it & how much did you make??
I really enjoyed this video!! I'm so excited for you, and looking forward to hearing about what you do, and how it's all working out! That move took some guts. Must have been quite an adrenaline rush pulling that trigger.
Use goo gone for the clearance tags lay out bunch of items on a table dab some Goo Gone on all the labels with a cotton ball don't over soak, then about 10 or 15 minutes later go back and all the stickers should peel right off. On the tough ones you can use a blow dryer too.
Another option is your pop-up retail idea, but instead of piecing it all out, hold a live auction. Auction of each box, or repack a specific number of items into each individual box, and auction off each box as a sealed mystery box. Whatever the plan, you've got a lot of work ahead of you.....good luck! Thanks for sharing the video!!
If they peeled 2 tags per minute you would have 120 tags per hour peeled. $10 per hour labor would take 87.5 hours to peel all of the tags off. $875 total to peel every tag. When divided by the 10,500 items it would come to about .08 or .09 per item. I think it would be well worth it. If the potential buyer is seeing the original retail they will be inclined to spend more! Small investment for a potentially massive return! A dime per item could mean selling a lot more, at a quicker pace and for a higher price!
Interesting. I didn’t actually do the math to figure it out. I just thought it would end up being like 50¢ per item. I guess I may have to do that if I end up retailing them myself
Return it all to Target stores for $200,000 in store credit.

Hi there, for starters you could sort it into winter and summer gear, except shoes and kids stuff. Don't be overwhelmed with this, take a good break over the holidays, and you will figure exactly what you need to do. You've been doing a great job so far. Merry Christmas.
The time factor is the big thing here! Time is money.
I like the 5 day sale idea, wouldn't go less than $1, but again is time and cost.
I agree. I'd prebox it, photo, shelve it, ebay it, ship it + rake in the dough.
It also has me bookmark the store+ looking @ their other items. www.m.ebay.com/sch/i.html?sid=marknmandee&isRefine=true&_pgn=1
what was that thing that just flew by at 1:20 ?
what is convenience fee ...? sounds like a BS fee to ne
Super Dave just left the same comment😂
I think the convenience part was them putting it in boxes and wrapping it in the plastic and sending in on the pallets what a bunch of BS
Where do you buy those pallets?
Those RRP prices are bullshit by the way, I'd be surprised if it's worth even 25% of $200,000
Target usually sells clothing at MSRP. Macy’s, Kohl’s, jc penny, etc are the ones where everything is always on sale and msrp is a myth lol
The outlet stores in the midwest are the real deal but the outlet stores on the east coast are a joke
Even if it’s worth 5% of MSRP, he still profits. 🤑
Clothing always has an enormous markup.
All you need now is a double stall flea market booth. You bought everything at fifty cents each, sell everything for five dollars each.
Give it all to me , please 😂
Where do you sell your items online
If you had someone who owns a boutique in Nigeria, you could make good returns shipping down here.
Not a chance. Many business import from manufacturers at very low cost. They are not going to waste their time on this which has to many varities of products they most likely do not sell. Nigeria also imports a lot of use clothing at very low cost which would be more profitable.
What site did you buy these items

You are insane putting your address here and info about your twins and their sizes!!!
Absolutely insane.
I hope they do not go missing because you wanted to possibly score some free junk from Target.
Go to a small city near you( if you're in a small town), and dumpster dive.. watch UA-cam videos and learn how. You'd be amazed at how much you can find this way.
Or to a local charity or church and ask if they have a free clothes program.
But her wiz lady, or man, do not put your address on UA-cam. My freaking Gawwwwd.

Hey,
Been hooked on your videos side lastnight. Please how can someone start this? Where and how I buy these pallets?

How did you find out about this for sale?
I think it’s awesome that you are doing that well to be able to buy that much inventory. I hope I can get enough money to someday be able to buy at least half of what you bought.
Buying this amount of stuff is not that hard :) just have to get it direct and not pay the middle man
@@tjdecker1986 and how I can buy direct from the store?
we've bought target stuff as well, we spent an entire day peeling tags and still had boxes and boxes left, so we started just tearing off the entire tag , and just sell them on the 5 dollar table, it worked out.
Do eBay clothing mystery boxes
Except for the fact that mystery boxes are against tos.. Might as well do as much of it as you can until Ebay really puts a foot down. Just do yourself and everyone else a favor and make them good mystery boxes. Plenty of ROI for them. There are far too many scammers selling junk mystery boxes these days =(
Cheers guys.
@@reforgedcriterion1471 they have stepped down their enforcinment against the boxes. At least for sellers with mostly excellent ratings.
How much would those go for if you put them on pallets with a minimum bid that would make you a nice profit? Maybe you could just post mixed pallet auctions on a few and see what happens...
And I’m a year late nvm 😂
Honestly, I'd remove them tags for you for free lol but I'm on the other side of the world :/ ..I'd empty the box on the sofa, put the tv on and get de-tagging!

I totally forgot you were in Wisconsin. Hi neighbor. You know 7-Mile Fair is open year round & have buildings that you can set up monthly. Try calling the office & see what they have available & the cost. I think you can see on their website, also. I'm not sure about Wilmot or Northern Wisconsin.
Charity starts here. Lol. Pants w 38 L 32. 3x shirts. Lol

@Ryan
Actually, in America it is cheaper to eat unhealthy food and drinks than eating healthy. :( It is very expensive to eat healthy! Also, 38 is not huge in a man's pants. Not sure why you consider that huge.

Hows it going w the Target stuff?
Move it the fastest way quick money and reinvest in the next pallet lol
Cash flow is king.
where do you buy this or what site?
Oh that looks like so much fun to going through.. 😀
I think its pretty cool that you are pretty much the pioneer in this business. Its incredible how strong you are as a business man. I bet you end up inventing a better platform for everyone to sell their own.
I wanna see what's in the damn boxes ! Less talky more looky!!
One acronym for what to do with all this - FBA Enterprise. Just get everything to Amazon and forget you ever bought it. You will likely pull in at the very least 100k in profits. Best part its all passive and you can focus on your other day to day job or start working on a new hustle.
i hate whenever this guys is talking about listing stuffs on eBay, he always stated the crappy stuffs are to be listed on eBay.... ridiculous..
We bought a truckload from Kmart. Tags suck. I used a blade to remove the clearance tags.
"Target stuff is not cheap, crappy". Lol. Really? Guess you never shopped there before.
DT58103 ya right, congrats on your big warehouse full of cheap crap. I think this guy has “issues” making decisions like this.
It's walmart quality. So eh. More or less so. Its okay quality.
how do you find these types of deals? do you just look for clearance sales, or stores closing?
donate it to goodwill
LMAO
Donations used to be a good tax write off but they seem to have made that a lot harder
I’d only be able to write off my cost which would ultimately end up in a tax savings of like $1500 or so. I would be better off not buying it in the first place if I just donated it all, from a business standpoint at least.
NOOOOOO, NOT GOODWILL, THEY charge too much for their things they also send a lot of it overseas and make money on it.
No way...goodwill is nothing but a rip-off...they make huge profits!!
where did you get from
When the items have a white tag on them that says def salvage it means something is wrong, for example a tiny rip, deodorant mark, or a stain. When they have the white sticker with missed salvaged means when the item was clearanced out it wasn't pulled off the floor at the time it was supposed to or it was a return. When theres no white sticker but a yellow or red clearance tag then that just means it was clearanced out.
How much do you want for the Manssiere?
Hi :) my way if getting stickers off quickly - a hairdryer! A little blast heat should make it quick work. Hope that helps x
Do you have any full or part-time employees that list items/ship items on EBay, etc??
Question - what would the price be per garment be after you include the shipping and convenience fees? I’m sure it’s still awesome but I’m curious.
I really enjoyed this video!! I'm so excited for you, and looking forward to hearing about what you do, and how it's all working out! That move took some guts. Must have been quite an adrenaline rush pulling that trigger.
What was the final outcome?
Tell me how do you buy it and where otherwise how does one get a hold of all these boxes of stuff???
This came from a store that closed. It’s not common to find it nearly that cheap
Use goo gone for the clearance tags lay out bunch of items on a table dab some Goo Gone on all the labels with a cotton ball don't over soak, then about 10 or 15 minutes later go back and all the stickers should peel right off. On the tough ones you can use a blow dryer too.
Hey @resale rabbit -- any update on this?
How did you hear about the sale? Was it an auction or sale ? Mary Christmas 🎅
How do you go about buying from the warehouses?
Dawn Brainard I show people where on my UA-cam channel
