Thank you for making your videos. I just inherited my fathers eBay inventory, he passed away exactly 18 years to the day that he began selling on eBay, and I wasn't sure what I'm going to do with it all. I rented a 26" long U-Haul and it was completely filled. Watching your very helpful videos is taking away my fears and I hope to be selling soon on eBay.
You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink! I followed your advice on VCRS/Combos about a year ago and they now account for about half my sales! Great profits.
Such a great tip to "think outside of the box" when it comes to sourcing. We attend a lot of estate sales which is where we buy the majority of our items. I can't tell you how many amazing things I've found in the corner of a garage covered in dust. Some of our best sellers were found taking the time to run some comps on things I never would have thought would sell. Recently found a vintage boxing match timer/bell that so many people passed by. I bought it for $2 and it sold for around $100. Patience pays!
Hard work pays off. "I will beat you with the hard work. You play the short game and I will bust my ass and I will beat you everytime" - Pete. No substitute for hard work. Gotta be smart, but also hustle hard. Happy New years Pete!
Pete is right. I always walked by medical boots / braces. After taking his advice I found a brace for club foot made in Sweden. I bought it for $6 and flipped it in less than 24 hours for $90. Thanks Pete!
I really enjoyed the way this video played out. Very calm and not talking too fast. I Will continue to watch your videos and you have inspired me to start thrifting for profit in 2019
Just bought a C-64 for myself, shoulda checked your store first! What a terrific month for you guys Pete, well deserved. 2019 is gonna kick ass, Happy New Year!
Pete my best one this last week was I picked up a Bose wave cd/ radio in ivory for 50.00 and sold it in three days at 175.00 . I love watching you videos, Thank you for them and your help please keep them coming. I lost have been donning hood with VCRS and Combos I can fix lot of VCRS if I have to because I did that before as a living. So far I have had good luck just picking them up at Goodwill and Salvation Army Cheap 7.00 - 13.00 and selling them for 30.00 - 60.00
You're always so honest and divulging of so much info. You have a good thing going and I'm happy for you. Thanks for all the info and Entertainment Pete!
How the hell can anyone be rude or mean or disrespectful to this guy? I love this guy. You have and give good deal, your always trying to help the little guy and you have great attitude. You love animals. Karma is going to be kind to you. Love your advise and videos thank you Peter!!!
I just put them in a regular box, some times ave to modify the top down to fit but it works and I estimate the shipping do far been ok to close by 2.00. Like you said combos are better but all sell fast for me so far. Thanks to Pete's tips good profits as well
I'm completely agree regarding VHS's. I'm selling them like crazy. My listings with them don't last longer than 2 days. Now these are best pickups ever. Thank Pete for great tip!!!!
Hi Peter! Great video of the bread and butter items you are selling and getting great money for! I looked at the same items here in Canada at thrift stores and re-store it stores too and the prices are very high and not worth it to ship from Canada, but I can tell you that the vintage porcelain, glass and collectibles do really well too. Usually less than 4 lbs. Men's shirts and ladies clothing does really well for us and the return rate is 3% per year. Also we do a mix of drop shipping from our suppliers directly to our customers and all of our sales are in the USA! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and am always learning and trying new items to sell. Some work and some don't but it's a fun business that I am running from home full time as I have retired from working a job for the last 20 years! Happy new year to you and your family, your employees too! Keep up the great videos and thank you for sharing your knowledge!!! My nationality is Croatian! Came to Canada in 1974! God Bless!!!
Great video!!! I work in furniture and actually have several steelcase (bpi)base power indeed in my garage and never thought to list them. We normally scrap the wire from them but you open my eyes to a better option. We toss them all the time by the dozens.
Thanks Pete Love these videos, they are very helpful. I am part time seller and recently picked up a pair of Danner boots at Goodwill and made good money on them after seeing them on your channel. Thanks again really appreciate your content.
Creeping in in my VHS hustle. Well I knew people would catch on but I have been doing this for the last 8 years and I have been able to average about $1500 a month in sales.
I have a room filled with vintage audio gear I have been collecting for over twenty years. Vintage stereo gear is red hot right now...might be time to sell a few items!!
Your videos are my favorite to watch while listing. Thanks so much for creating great, practical content that I always learn from as well as feel inspired by.
Thank you for your info Pete! I appreciate it. I’m trying to learn all I can to start reselling. I’m tired of working so hard just to pay the bills with nothing left over. I’m learning a lot from you and I appreciate it. Tracy from Texas
Pete--great video! Like the smaller stuff that sells! Helps everyone out who might not have the room for VCR's/Stereo's etc! Keep up the great work Sir! Cheers Mate!
I grab vcr's at yard sales every weekend for $5. I sold 4 the week before xmas. One of them sold 20 minutes after listing!.. I add a new blank tape, and the a/v cables to all my vcrs(Tip from Pete vid)-. They do sell, believe it people.. Thanks Pete, I was mainly a clothes, shoes seller but your early vids opened my eyes to electronics.. Steve
Pick & Roll I agree I o the same I can't keep them in stock they sell it's in a few days and or good profits as well. I wonder if I am selling them to cheap (LOL) , but I am listing them around same as every one I see do I don't know
I believe you about the VCRs because people need to understand theres always a market for everything ! People buy and collect the craziest things ! Thanks for explaining ! Now subscribing to your Channel
I backed off VCR's because I was getting a lot of Not As Described and broken in shipping complaints despite testing them all before listing and trying to pack carefully. Same goes with turntables.
Pete, you made a video very similar to this in 2017 and couraging all of us to have a great 2018. At that point I was focused and determined. I am happy to say the 2018 was awesome and it's all because of you. Looking forward to 2019 brother keep it going
Kudos, Pete. An inspiration. This was my worst December on ebay....ever. I'm at a loss. Working on changing my game and scoring better product. Cheers!
4 Head VCR's, VCR/DVD Combos, 3 Head Cassette decks, Pioneer 8 Track players, and vintage turntables are always good sellers if you in then for the right price. I never have any problem selling them. I also do very well with Chrome Type II Blank cassettes. If they are N.O.S. and still sealed. I get between $5 to $10 each for them depending on brand, and vintage. I pay between .25 cents to $1.00 each for them. Other odd but great sellers are Reel to Reel tapes, and 8 Tracks that are in good condition. Have a great New Year Pete.
Bread and butter items vary from person to person. I was glad to sell 20-40 $ price range, then I looked at a buddy of mine's listings, some low 70's$ prices but most between 150-400$ price range. $4000 a month is still good for doing something that you like. But it does not compare to $15 -20 thousand-dollar months my buddy has. The stuff is out there, I'm stepping up my treasure hunting game!
Thank you for your candid and honest perspective of the business. i have been needing to replace my job income as a lay off 2 years ago and have found eBay to be a kind market. Thanks for being selfless in sharing...keep these videos coming...- List-A-Lot!
You always have great content! Thank you for taking the time to help us think "outside the box." I know I always need help thinking differently about those items I look to sell.
Vintage electronics sell every time I list one. People who say otherwise are the ones who should not be trying to make money on eBay because they don't have a clue. Everyone collects something. I buy $10 tape decks and get anywhere from $50 to $200 depending on the item.
Thank you so much for sharing! Yes, I have walked by items in thrift stores just like the ones you sold. Have you done videos on how to ship/packaging?
Good sales and flip on the VCR's...Amazing you did good...Here in most yard sales one can't even sell one in nice working condition for $15.00 with remote...Guess too many people here do their research and know they can go to any thrift store and buy those for from $5.99-$10.00....Cassette decks or any other vintage stereo good name brands so make a good flip...
VCRs are a great find if they work. I've brought home so many that simply eat tapes. As far as the cassette decks go, the belts are usually stretched out so they won't play. I do agree, both are great sellers...if they work.
I still sell VCRs and DVD players, but you're right they have to be good brands and 4 or 6 head. Tape decks, not so much, but now and then. There is one problem with some VCRs. there is a part inside that floats on one screw and a spring. If it gets knocked out of place during shipping, it will not take a tape. Easy fix, but your buyer won't be happy. SOME CB radios sell well. Oddly the 23 channel type will sell better than the 40's Some brands bring ridiculous money.
Hi there, new to your channel and an avid 'ebayer' during certain seasons. I appreciate you sharing so much valuable information with us all on UA-cam. I have bookmarked your page and will be following your videos from now on. My girlfriend is from Poland so your accent is familiar to me. Haha. I live in Key West Florida so a lot of what I sell is bar ware type stuff but you've got me thinking about expanding my inventory and branching out to more ideas of how to maximize my profits on ebay. I watched your live stream last night and was trying to get your ebay handle so I could check out your store but I missed it when you said it. I know you mention it a lot but I just began watching your vids. You seem very knowledgeable and strict in your ways and that is something I can appreciate when running an operation like this. Thanks again for sharing your 'recipes for success' with anyone and everyone tuning in. Bravo, sir!
Pete I want to thank you for taking the time to share with us some items that we can learn and make money on please dont listen to people hating on you actually trying to help people. i sold a vcr / dvd combo with no remote for 50$ i got at garage sale for 2$. So thank you these videos are very helpful !! Have a great 2019 i will be looking forward to the next video
First time viewing your videos, and really inspiring! I have a garage full of great stuff like this I will get going on selling, plus plan to embark on some treasure-hunting trips to the local thrift stores. Thanks, Pete.
Thank you so much for the tips! Considering they are not making any more tape decks or VCR's they will continue to increase in value because people still want to listen and watch tapes.
Thrift stores have caught on. I went to one recently and they had all the "worthy" items locked in a glass display case (Jordan sneakers, Louie bags, Gucci sunglasses).
Hey man. Great videos. I used to be a power seller on Ebay like 10 years ago while working 60 hours a week at a normal job. Unfortunately I ruptured 2 discs in my lower back and had 5 surgery's thanks to one botched surgery. I didn't sue because that's not me. Anyway I've been wanting to get back into it and just wanted to say what an inspiration you are.
I would like to see a video of what doesn't sell. I would like to see what you have to throw in to your dumpster. I can't believe that you sell everything that you acquire. This would help sellers not to waste their time.
Extreme Cleanout Solutions Other sellers keep relisting with a lower price or put them onsale until they sell. Other sellers will create an auction that starts at a penny to clear out inventory that hasn’t sold.
Very interesting assortment you sold here. You asked if people would just pass by some of the things you bought and the answer is YES! Heck... some of it, I'd have no idea WHAT it was. Those cubicle connectors, for instance... Would you have recognized them for what they were if someone hadn't told you? BUT... we all learn from watching each other and there's ALWAYS something else to learn about. I watched the video till the end, but UA-cam is making it hard NOT to pay to skip ads since NOW, I'm finding 5 minute ads with no "skip" allowed. Yours had one of those long ones at the beginning and another in the middle! I just mute and come back in a few minutes. Happy New Year and congrats on good sales for the one that is now over!
Hey Pete, your right on the money about old electronics, I recently was fortunate enough to find a brand new in the box high end VCR Toshiba bought for 100 sold for 800 with shipping within two weeks, happy new year to you Pete and thanks for all your efforts in your vids. All the best in 2019!
at the flea market again . i picked up two boxes with 60 pairs of vintage salvatore shoes with original boxes for only 30 dollars. some were brand new. they were all ladies shoes and one size only. i sold one pair and made my money back times 2.
I am new to the channel. Love the videos. I've been laid up over the holidays with a slipped disc in my back. Done nothing but watch your videos. Love the content. Best wishes for 2019.
Pete, I make 70k a year at my job, but started a little ebay business on the side to supplement my income. My biggest problem is deciding to use the Buy it Now feature or run auctions. I mostly sell retro toys, old graded sportscards and retro video games...I could really use your input. Thanks for all the inspirational and knowledgeable videos. Happy New Year to you and the gang!
People are yearning for the old times they are starting to realize that all online stuff may not be the way to go. Happy new year ! May the next year be your best year yet.
Can you show how you pack these VHS players for shipping? I live in Maryland, and work a full time job at bike shop. As a side hustle, I got into buying and reselling stuff from thrift stores since April of 2018. In just that short period, I have noticed flocks and flocks of people who pick the hell out of my thrift spots. It seems to get harder and harder to find anything of value anymore. I mean, shelves are picked clean, practically. I admit... I have walked by many of the things you point out in this video, so you have re-kindled my hopes. I also see plenty of people walking past these same things, as well. I have found some electronics in the past that sells pretty well, and fast.. Old tape transcribers (especially the Panasonic ones), and old portable CD players and mini-cassette recorders... The newer and fresher they are, the faster and more money you get. It's crazy. Literally, overnight, they sell for $100 or more - and I only paid a few bucks on them. My local Salvation Army has boat loads of VHS and tape decks, printers and receivers. Looks like I need to do more homework!
@Craigslist Hunter People use old technology to retrieve "lost" footage only once available on vhs/beta/8track etc. This can be especially useful to Audio + Visual artist. Not everything is available in the digital domain. Old stereos and telephony equipment (phones, intercom boxes, switchers,PBX) can also be a source for (no longer available) signal processing chips use to repair/build synthesizers.
Thank you for reminding me of ReStore. We have one and I love looking around in there just for ME, but kinda forgot about it over the past year or so. Now that I'm a picker, oh man I can't wait to go and see what they have that's worth way more money.
Ugh. So I went a few days ago and the place has gone downhill BAD. Tons of empty shelves and almost entirely new, unused items, priced barely below normal retail. I sure miss the ReStore in the town where I lived previously--it was mostly scavenged items from home tear-downs, including crazy valuable ANTIQUE hardware and fixtures, priced so low it was practically free.
Please do a video on how you do income taxes and keep track of all the stuff you write off for income taxes..like gas, shop supplies, insurance etc etc. Im totally confused about that, especially keeping track of write offs.
I sell lots (300+ in the past 2 years) of VCRs and specialy ordered boxes for them. I got 18x14x6 boxes ($0.98) to fit most VCRs, 20x14x8 ($1.23) for combos. Just use 24” bubblewrap pref 12” and use 3 connecting sheet 2’x3’ total 1/4 bubbles. I double the ends over in the back to protect the input/output terminals and fold the sizes like a present. Boxes sizes leave 1-2” in every direction (top bottom front back and sides) for packaging peanuts. None break in shipping after using this method. But for DVD Dubbing Combos I use slightly larger 22x16x10 ($1.45) mostly because they sell $125-$250 so worth the extra couple inches. Ps. If you wrap the cord the size of your hand there is room in the back to pack the remote and av cables can be wrapped with power cord, these size boxes don’t have room for tapes though.
A packaging supply company. They usually have the best prices because they broker from manufacturer to businesses. The one I use is Garnell Packaging, they are a local family owned one. You will have to search for your closest one. They typically keep common supplies like bubble wrap and packaging peanuts in stock and commonly ordered boxes, may need to wait a couple weeks for special sizes.
Hello from South Louisiana here ✌️ New Subscriber I think I will enjoy learning more from you. I've been an eBay member since 2004 but all these years I never really focused on using it for Sales until recently. So I hope to build up and thanks.

Just curious how are the sales on ebay going?
You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink! I followed your advice on VCRS/Combos about a year ago and they now account for about half my sales! Great profits.
VCR's....everyone needs something to watch SIMPLE JACK with
@BitMex TradesBoth.. DVD/VCR's but they typically are VHS recordable. Sometimes they are DVD recordable which are the BIG💵💵💰👍👌

Bravo, sir!
Great video Pete, especially like the pointers on the vintage electronics that sell. I've had similar experience. Have a GREAT NEW YEAR!!!!
VCR, Tapedecks, alarm clocks from the past not current. Plus small radios and am/fm tape decks. I sell them on ebay all day long.
I love the variety of items you are selling. Quite inspirational really! Thanks...
I continue to be amazed at your supreme resourcefulness!
PETE IS THE GOAT OF UA-cam RESELLERS!
Thrift stores have caught on. I went to one recently and they had all the "worthy" items locked in a glass display case (Jordan sneakers, Louie bags, Gucci sunglasses).
Happy New Year Pete, to you and your family!!!
Wow, you did great on that watch!!!
Thanks for sharing!!!
Great video, Pete!
Thank you, for posting!
All the best to you and your family for 2019!
good new year to you and yours keep up the good videos always in your corner you are the man in reselling will always watch
Thanks for all the vid this year. So informative. Look forward to more in 2019. Happy New Year's!!!
I am new to the channel. Love the videos. I've been laid up over the holidays with a slipped disc in my back. Done nothing but watch your videos. Love the content. Best wishes for 2019.
Thanks peter !! I am going to make it happen in 2019 . Thanks for inspiring me everyday. Happy 2019 .God Bless xxx
Happy New Year to you and the gang!
big daddy coool buy it now 100% also hop on amazon for retro games in good condition.

Very open and sincere guy. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Pete - happy new year - best wishes for a prosperous 2019! Cheers!
I really enjoy your videos. They are entertaining as well as informative. Thank you
Love these kind of videos Pete , thanks. Keep making them please.
You are a freaking genius!
Thanks so much for the info!
There is gold in the overlooked.
Peace!
Thanks for the video, Pete! All the best to you this New Year!
Love your work Thanks for all the eBay selling inspiration mate
@Craigslist Hunter People use old technology to retrieve "lost" footage only once available on vhs/beta/8track etc. This can be especially useful to Audio + Visual artist. Not everything is available in the digital domain. Old stereos and telephony equipment (phones, intercom boxes, switchers,PBX) can also be a source for (no longer available) signal processing chips use to repair/build synthesizers.
That gives me so many ideas and a drive to get out there and hunt for items.
Thanks for the video.
Great advice as always. I learn a lot with your channel. Happy new year from Argentina!
Great video, Pete! Just got my first pair of Lacrosse boots for today $12.50. Happy New Year
Great sales Pete! Thanks for sharing! Happy New Year!
Pete knows his stuff, thanks for sharing Pete.
These videos are absolute gold. Thank you
Thank you very much for the info 😁 I also love looking at everything behind you, so cool!! Reminds me of the IT Crowd 😂🤩
Becky Kastelz ...hi Becky.😊😊
He runs a brick and mortar so I am sure his situation is different than yours. Google your questions and find videos from other resellers . :)
It doesn't cost too much to get a professional and it's worth it!
@Rex Erection I shouldn't have laughed at this as much as I did haha
@@christysdeals4u Accountants are not cheap what are you talking about?
@@daria4082 I guess shop around? Find someone through a friend or relative.. depends on how many schedules you are filing, too, probably.
Happy New Year Pete. Please extend my good wishes to all of your employees
Thanks for the info! Can you do a video about packaging VCRs and DVD/VCR combos and box sizes you use?
For real, I gotta look into that. I am a picky about how I ship items.
@@zacharywissinger3996 Thank you very much!
Zachary Wissinger Where do you order special boxes?
A packaging supply company. They usually have the best prices because they broker from manufacturer to businesses. The one I use is Garnell Packaging, they are a local family owned one. You will have to search for your closest one. They typically keep common supplies like bubble wrap and packaging peanuts in stock and commonly ordered boxes, may need to wait a couple weeks for special sizes.
I live in the UK and just checked eBay listings for VCR,s he's spot on they sell for decent money.
Hello from South Louisiana here ✌️ New Subscriber I think I will enjoy learning more from you. I've been an eBay member since 2004 but all these years I never really focused on using it for Sales until recently. So I hope to build up and thanks.
