Very True. In 2022, Taiwan's Court decided that the 17th Karmapa is guilty for his sexual assault accusation based on voice recordings and videos. And there has been three different women came forward to tell their stories.

Ramakrishna paramhansa used to say to his disciples: watch a sadhu by the day- and by the night. Only then trust him....

Lord Buddha has said listen to his teachings only that fits with your logic, you can also be critical of his teachings
So if some lama has hurt your then Buddha has stated that could happen that’s why you have to be an open minded but guard Buddha’s teachings as the main source but not of some nonsense lama’s

Siddhartha gautam or Buddha is Indo European name and concept. Tibetian monks are from different culture and race and often misinterpret Buddhas teachings.

If one need to achieve, cultivation of longevity, abundance of food is part of the cultivation

What Is The Truth Of Buddhism.

So how do you want to know that when somebody tells you something (for example about a vajrayana teacher), that this is actually the pure, objective truth?
Even if you observe something yourself you can not be sure to be free of your very subjective interpretation of that situation.
Take everything with a grain of salt and take human psychology into account for all involved individuals (that includes witnesses)

petrairene Does objective truth actually exist?

    • @petrairene
      @petrairene 6 років тому +1

Definitely. I can say, "Peter has raped me" or " Tom has committed tax fraud" or "Mathew has murdered Susan" and that's either true or it is not.
I mean, there are situations where you have a gray area and two people can genuinely interpret a situation in two different ways, but there are also situations where there is an objective truth and people might just interpret the incident differently because of psychological reasons.
For example the rapist could have been in his (twisted) mind convinced that the victim wanted it.

Good points raised, I recently discovered that the meditation teacher Culadasa had been sleeping with sex workers (he is married). It was disappointing given his high level of attainments and his insistence on moral virtue.

I guess I could say several things about this video. One, there are unethical people in every aspect of life, some more than others (politics or sales?). Second, different cultures' views on issues regarding correct conduct are different. This makes intercultural interactions quite difficult to say the least. Third, on any spiritual path, people will encounter their wounds and their trauma--their darkness, and they will often project them onto people around them--transference. So, did the teacher do something wrong or did the student have issues about being taken advantage of or mistreated in some way? Either might be possible. Lastly, Vajrayana focuses strongly on Guru yoga, but the Guru visualized in solitary practice can be Vajra Guru rather than any particular embodied human. Once a person has taken refuge, they can do the preliminaries and start a Yidam practice, and attain a great deal without sitting next to any Lama. Knowing this, some of this video misses the point. Each person moves toward their own awakening in their own way; often the tools are more important than biased believes about the tool makers or tool dispensers which can then make the individual stop practicing. It is also a great excuse when the individual doesn't want to face the next trauma.

Study hustles and you will 100% know what is going on behind closed doors. People only have to be truthful with their family. That's it. This idea that everyone is one big family goes against the very basis of nature. And God's creation. Go to college if you want to learn.

Chador2017 I don't want students. I'm not a teacher, just someone trying to process my way out of the messy situation I got myself into and speaking for others doing the same thing. I don't expect anyone not going through this process to understand.

The Dalai Lama is NOT A GURU, does not require adulation etc, & is the first one to tell you he is only a man. His teachings boil down to learn from all sources & 'just be good'!

Truth is not something "non-conceptual". "Non-conceptuality" is the very opposite of truth.
