It's been already seven years, that's crazy! I remember I actually was in Dzogchen Beara at the time, just staying in the hostel. And no one talked about it, a friend told me about the letter. Luckily I already had left years ago, as it at some point had felt too dogmatic to me. Nevertheless it was shocking and I just did recently another deep dive and found your videos. Thank you for having the courage to speak the truth. I for sure have learned my lesson about gurus, narcissism and co. Good luck with your other channel, I subscribed. 🙂

You don't need religion. You don't need a spiritual teacher. Nor is there anything to seek because the idea of a separate seeker is an illusion. When the clutter falls away, what is left? The answer to that is available to anyone, right now, without teachers or books or meditation. Those are only pointers, like my wordy comment.

Great! Sounds like you got out of a dogmatic cult. I don't trust the teachings of Siddharta Gautama, his descriptions of the process and the experience in there, do not convince me that he has what he claimed to have. I wish you do sonoran dessert Toad Venom, in a safe facilitated environment, so that you get confirmation that this power is possible to get in this life, to hold eternal. Then, from that intense experience, begin the attempt to be like that. I like that a lot, it is a good starting position, much better than devotion. This is safety, in a way. I run a channel, U do instructions, however it is better understood as sharing my experience, without the value judgment. I speak with fascination from my experiences. But a smart person can get dogzen from that.

I heard about some people's spiritual experiences. I don't think it is something that I have to hold hard. Mine and others. It was what it was, and it would not be healthy if I cling to it. That would lead to delusion. If there is something bigger than I am than it is not in my hands. The most I can do is trying to accept reality, trying to live up to my values, not be a hypocrite, not be harmful to others, give energy to positive things, don't give energy to things that hurt others. To hang on to a spiritual experience to feel special, to feel more spiritual than others are narcissistic. Just because someone had an experience, it doesn't mean they are special. At least I didn't see them more compassionate or "better". It is much harder to practice the mundane task to be real than to chase "experiences". I rather have a friend who is trustworthy, reliable and never experienced "oneness" than a "shaman " who has a spiritual business taking people on Ayahuasca ceremonies weekly.

Religious experience happened because there is more to the word that we see. But it is not own by any religion, group, method etc... People who teach methods how to reach and go through the experience may not be special or good people. When you sit on a bus to do sightseeing in a city, it doesn't mean the busdriver is a person full of integrity.

First of all, Sogyal Rinpoche is a lay teachers, in the native Bhuddhist community, lay teachers are never given so much in high regard. This kind of incident usually don't happen in native Bhuddhist community, why ? Bcaus, in the native Bhuddhist community, devotees usually keep a distance in relationship between teachers and students. Many western students doesn't follow that and then any incidents happens then instead of holding such accused person and organisations accountable, they target whole Bhuddhist tradition bcaus western people are all about taking advantage of other, if they goes in your favour then it is all right, if its is not then it is condemned. Whatever, you see and learn in rigpa as a advance Bhuddhist Tantra iw not even a 1% of original Bhuddhist Tantra. This are all popular Tantra by which people are exploited. Thats why, it is always important to start from the foundation of Buddha Dhamma. Otherwise, in the name of Vajrayan tradition, you might be learning something else. Usually, Bhuddhist organisation and temples away from the native Bhuddhist community in overseas are more likely to involve in such crimes bcas native Bhuddhist community usually act as a check and balances for any so called teachers whether Monastic or Non-Monastic. Seems , Tahila has made a good amount of money from her books. At the end, for western people, everything is about career and Money..

I have been involved with a Mahayana Buddhist tradition for many years, it is a beautiful way to live. I have never been abused by ordained Sangha. I don't understand lay practitioners ever entering a sexual relationship with a monk. Of course there will always be abusive people in powerful positions but we have to take responsibilty for ourselves. Why do women get into these situations?

Instead of doing politics and doing business through a book launch, you should file a police complain qnd launch q criminal trial against all who are part in the crime. When you have never ever learn 1% of Bhuddhist tradition Tantra. Then how , could you abuse a Bhuddhist tradition. Teaching had not exploits you, those pseudo teachers had exploited you not by buddha Dharma. When you are exploited in a foreign land, which has their own legal system and you a victim. Then you have to go to police station qnd launch a case. Police is not going to come to you through prayer. You cannot expect and blame other teachers to do something when they do not live in your foreign country.

  • @korashortss

I hope, my message is not late. Why such case of exploitation doesn't happen with native Bhuddhist community especially in india. It is because native people always keep border line between guru and student. Western students usually don't follow that, and i personally, don't trust those teachers both Monastic and Non-Monastic who live very far away from the native Bhuddhist community like tibetans, ladak, khunu, bhutia and arunachalu and sikkimist community to overseas places. Where they don't have that check and balance from the native community. Not only that, disgrace practioners both Monastic and Non-Monastic always flew to overseas and there they become a teacher. Just do a observation, majority of native community pay more respects to the Monastic monks, who always stay in robes even if they are in overseas.this is opposite in case of western students. Native people are by birth followers of Mahayan and Vajrayan tradition. Still, they devote their time also in practice of Bhuddhist foundation practices instead of directly jumping into a core inner yoga or Vajrayan practices which has a discussion on various body anatomy and application of various body parts only for the purpose of controlling thatbuntamed minds. Since, many such people live in overseas. There, law and justice is very systematic and as and when such incidents of assault happen. Right away, lodge a police company and initiate a criminal trial instead of requesting other teacher for support. It is very difficult for teachers in india to support a case against someone claimed teacher who resides in overseas because such disgrace teachers are in overseas and there is a complete advance law and justice system. Such nature of act is criminal case and uninvited statement from teacher's in india can unnecessary become a interference in their criminal investigation. Remember, place of criminal trial is where, the crime actually happens in a place. You should force yourself to file a criminal case against such pseudo teachers because such a action will become a service to the Buddha Dhamma. One things, i also noticed that foreign students always engaged in meditation, you won't see native lay Bhuddhist community doing meditation day and night. There is no use of meditation without a slightest practice of Bodhichitta and Shunyata. One more information, whoever exploit you in the name of Bhuddhist Tantra, which is in reality not even a 1% of Bhuddhist Tantra. These are so called modern day " popular Tantra" means to exploit others in the name of Tantra by exploiting others. Whenever, there is a teaching by anybody , always ask a hard question. Then you will come to know the scholarship of such teachers. I support you, launch a criminal case or i hope you already started against other then soyal Rinpoche. 🙏🙏🙏

I’m beginning to use the Angel of water because I want Jesus included. People need to worship. But I don’t need some gigantic belief system invented by men long ago. I appreciate that many people just plain go into these Buddhist spaces and do whatever. But I think something about the educated American woman, well rounded, rejects the info. I’d rather study brain waves and that science along with the fact that I see how I create whatever state I want. But I like my new imaginary friend Angel ofWater taken from the Essences who Jesus belonged.

Violence can be a way of inducing awakening if we believe the stories and when violence was used you could make the argument that it was right for Milarepa considering the context in which he was embedded. But if it even is a way among many one should only do so in very extreme cases and with the utmost care and even that is diplomatic as even extreme cases (ignoring the ones in the stories) have the problem of backfiring really easily no matter how much care is given because both the student as the guru do not really know what opening that door will bring about. I don't care how incredible and wise the guru is, someone helping another to wake up can only know clearly that the other person is not awake and sure identification is very much intertwined with someones psychology but they are not one and the same. It is therefore important to emphasize the difference between giving someone psychological advice/help versus waking someone up to the ultimate truth. Good guesses can be made on what can help people wake up based on teaching experience but this is often confused with psychological advice. Buddhism has a part that points to ultimate truth (emptiness) and a part on other stuff that can help the (illusory) person to live a good life (concentration, ethics) this is buddhism taking the role of psychological help claims about ending suffering are bullshit maybe you could interpretate this by removing the sufferer from the suffering but suffering will never end. And then there are religious/metaphysical parts of relative reality and like karma (eventhough karma is usually construed as something descriptive it has normative connotations, but this is a seperate topic) and especially in vajrayana with the bardo teachings and other supernatural stuff. When it comes to waking up violence is never really needed. And the fact that a tradition like vajrayana has violence as a build in thing shows at first a misunderstanding concerning the differentiation between awakening and psychological help and second that it can easily be used for manipulation seen by the large amounts of cases gone wrong. Right now you are 100% seeing all the truth that could ever be. You think you are not seeing it but it is impossible to avoid. You are fully enlightened and you could never be otherwise. The simple ordinary awareness that you have of anything that arises either in the world, or in your mind is the truth. There is nothing more to enlightenment than realizing directly that what is appearing in awareness, “before” you take claim of it, is the truth. The Ultimate Reality is that there is not, nor has there ever been a you to take claim of any object of awareness. There is no self. Enlightenment is simply pure selfless awareness of everything that arises moment to moment. It is a ghostly feeling of non-being combined with hammering clarity. It is a shimmering beauty beyond earthly description that is felt by emptiness. You are that emptiness and have always been that. There has only ever been enlightenment. There has only ever been existence/awareness. Feel the emptiness, your non-being as the universe expands to infinity. Walk into a crowded room and never find yourself. If you can do these then you will know you are already enlightened and in that knowing you will realize you have always known this and yet have never existed to know it. Whether you rest in your ignorance or your knowledge, you have arrived.

For someone with such aversion agains Buddhist teachers she surely tries a lot to be one. She has a strange inclination towards generalizations, strange reluctance to be grateful for the valuable teachings she obviously received, and to the teachers who provided them, strange confusion about conspiracy theories while supporting one herself (lamas designing an abusive devotional system). She’s harboring a complete lack of original meaning of guru devotion, and what seems as a modern dismissal of a need for a qualified guide. For someone being ‘a student and practitioner of Tibetan Buddhism for 20+ years’, it’s quite striking to advocate against Tibetan Buddhist teachers in whole, as opposed to understanding relativity and advise people to follow qualified masters after thoroughly verifying their qualifications. In essence, she seems to be acting from the very same kind of mind she’s warning others against.
