The ultimate passive intake in action. Paired with the Extending Reverse Stacker this new design is not only feasible but practical. Now including a four bar on top of a double reverse four bar and active stack release.
DR4B Extending Reverse Stacker (V3) - The Ultimate Passive Intake, for VEX VRC Tower Takeover game!
Looks like a really cool design. The center of mass is a lot closer to the center than some of the previous designs I've seen from you guys
We did really well, also made it 13th place in our worlds division. You? (if you played)
An intellectual, I see.
that extendable stacking device is actually ingenious.
You've improved a lot since the first design, very nice.
This is pretty incredible. So far my team is working on a tray bit with our other small team likely going with a similar idea soon. We’ve got ours about 98% done, and it’s somewhat similar to Goofy if you’ve ever looked them up. With some alterations of course. I’m sure this type of reverse stacker will be the main opposition to tray bots this year. Good luck to you all, and may the best bot win
Nice job
Hope you win worlds
Roxanne Shankland don’t u want to
I got 5th out of 1200
Nice design. Really helpful
I think, like some people might have said, this design can be improved if theres more options for picking up the cubes. I think rather than just vertically, you can go horizontally into it if you leave the front face of the prism open, and have a similar passive intake that lies horizontally. Since the horizontal passive intake prevents it from sliding horizontally while the vertical prevents it from sliding down, you dont need a release mechanism because it will slide down when the vertical releases. I think not the entire front face needs to be open, but just a small hole enough for a cube and maybe a 1-2 inch window for safety.
Oh, wow! I just realized that the grabber is 100% mechanical! very impressive design!
Imaginator Studios what is the grabber?
This is really nice, the only real problem I can identify is the possible difficulty that can be found on trying to fit in two stacks, which can be fixed relatively easily
I actually think v2 was better ngl
These get better and better
I’ve been working on an intake almost exactly like this, now people will think I stole, rip
TheOrcinusOrca7121E same here :(
It's VRC, "borrowing" designs is almost part of the game ;)
@@jrobilliard6499 lets just say i've been doing a lot of "borrowing" from 1961 ;)
Amazing design
I thought it was such a good design, I decided to use it (I know, I’m a copier). I built it just to figure out that the linear slides were to frickin heavy for the lift, if you have any suggestions, that would be much appreciated.
Bronx Bombers strings maybe in a x shape
Amazing and thank you for sharing!
Goddamn it, stop posting good designs
Whoa, there, bud.
Are you guys actually going to use these designs now that perhaps hundreds of people have already copied your ideas?
Imagine thinking this design is good!
These animations shouldn't be used to design your bot or use the idea. They don't show you the problems and such, it just shows an idea that might work
How would the cubes release if you extend it outwards? And what design software do you use?
Op
What's the release mechanism like? I also see a possible issue with the passive not being able to grip on the parts that aren't so wide
If you bring the lift down all the way it should grip the same spot every time
To releas u use string like a pulley
Can you guys please make more tower takeover robot animations, I am in need of some ideas. Like if you agree
I already had that idea 😭 now everyone's gonna use it!!
Intake mechanism looks pretty slow - and cycle times will be very important in this game. Maybe an intake which can pick up cubes horizontally (like teams used in FRC Power Up) could be faster?
Hello. I am a player and coachfrom China. It's really cool about ur video. How to make it? VEX VIRTUAL WORLD or something else?
Are you guys able to pick up cubes at any orientation or just head on because that's kinda make or break for this design
I think its head on but its running as an h-drive so it has the ability to position itself more accurately
What software do you use to cad your designs?
I too need to know this.
Could we see your design ideas for the ultimate passive intake?
what are the parts used to build the passive intake (what grips the cubes and lets other cubes push it further upwards?) thanks
What program did you use to make this?
blender
Damn I had the same idea with the extending intake
ب التوفييقق💙💙✔️ ،
نحن بعد بنسوي نفس ها انشاللهه💜💜✔️.
دعواتكم 🙂💛💛.
How many years have you competed already?
Is there an available CAD or Solidworks model?
I don't understand how the passive intake opens up when the four bar extends all the way out
the passive intake extends when you feed it with cubes, that's why it's called passive.
You use string so when ever the intake extends it will work like a pulley
I too sing America
Can anyone point me to a place that shows how the section with the blocks pivots out of the center to place the stack. I see the pivoting arms, just not sure how its connected to the motor.
what will you do for autonomous mode?
Are we able to use these designs?
If only my brain was half as big
so the little clamps move regardless of the fact that it should only go when you grab a cube?
my impression is that the clamps move a little bit passively when you pick up a cube to "let the cube in", and when the four-bar extends, some kind of string/linkage system (not shown in video I don't think) pulls back the clamps when the 4-bar extends outwards.
@@kirbyfu2615 oops, i had the volume of the video put all the way down so i couldnt hear the explanation in the beginning of the video ;-;
can anybody explain how this works and the claw?
what program do you use ?
is it possible to do 2 cubes in the bigger goal with this design?
wym? like side by side?
@@skobotinrobotics241 most likely
@@skobotinrobotics241 yea thats what i meant
They cut a spacer in half
Edit: And a 5 wide C channel 6 long

Literal hacks
How does the intake release the cubes when the 4bar is extended
String, some sort of that mechanism, that will act like a sort of pulley.
What program is this?
Blender
Can I get the 3d files to get a closer look
The arm gears look a lil too small eh?
How does it release the cubes?
I don't think they actually show the mechanism necessary, but it would probably involve string or something to pull back the clamps when the 4-bar extends outwards
OK thanks
I don’t really understand. Can someone explain this to me?
We explain the design as a voiceover in the video
Srikar D. Govindarajula I know, but I’m still kinda confused
@@1.21jiggawatts2 what are you confused about
They don't really show how the clamps release, I don't think that there's a mechanism in this model. However, it probably involves string or linkages or something
Alexander Lacy OMG NO WAY MY FAVORITE UA-camR
Check out the FRC, its better, not to mention the fact that they copied the contest from FIRST. VEX copied the whole thing, if you want to bave real fun go to FRC
If you want to lose to 118 and 148 and 254 go to FRC
No
They are good teams and they work super hard what do you expect, not to mention... what core values do you have in VRC???
Your right in addition if you want to have more freedom to do more complex designs do FRC. I think with your amazing mind you will excel in FRC. I have been doing FRC for the past 2 years and trust me you won’t even look back
Why can't both exist in harmony? I really don't get the "FIRST and only FIRST" mentality that some FRC participants have. I run both and they both have their pros and cons.
What software did you guys use to render this design?
