In 1976 I had a meeting with the President of Elektra Records, Mel Posner. While I was in his office he asked his secretary to get a tape from the vault. She came back with a reel to reel tape. He put it on a tape player in his office and this was the song he played me. It was fantastic to hear a Doors recording that no one had heard at that time other than a few people at Elektra. I alway remembered that day. He then asked me what my favorite Doors album was and I answered Strange Days. Thanks Mel for the memory.
I was 17 when I bought "The Doors Box Set" and jewels like this were included. What a fantastic set. The book inside is amazing, with words from Ray, Robbie and John.
The beauty of UA-cam! I was 18 years old I bought a doors compilation cd. When I heard this it blew my mind! 44 years old now and I’ve found it again, still blows my mind. Wow
I never danced once in my life and I never heard a song mellow me out and made me forget everything for a bit. But God how can you not wanna dance to this. For just a quick blues song it's really great.
Mystery Train...those words by Jim....no one went there he was trying Mystery Train and his band didn't go there Jim grew up on Elvis s Mystery Train and then some.
one of their best, however there is half a minute missing at the end , hear how it cuts off at the end, still thank you so much , Daniel for posting this and to Josko in comments for the lyrics
The original song is 16 minutes and 38 seconds long so I don't understand what METUBE is saying about "WHY EDIT THIS?" This is the full version of the released song on the CD and I own it....
Digamos que para woodstock avandaro isle of wight el rock declino en sus hippiosa psychedelic .... como supo jim que sociologos y otros escritores contemporaneos lo afirmaron como supo este cabecita dura de jim la verdad de esto .??? Aver sociologos y conocedores resuelvan aqui esa incognita.
today's "rock" is almost intentionally alienating its own audience. it's no longer reflecting our collective feelings, fears and hardships. it's i fully believe going down the same path classical music did in the beginning of the 20th century. it became so out of touch and pretentious that it died.

This was also very prophetic in Jim Morrison's case.
El espiritu rebelde del rock no puede morir jim quedate tranquilo
Amazing controlled craziness as only The Doors could do.

Jimmy personified the rock in this song

Timeless
Actually timeful

It's got a 'Parthengenesis' Canned Heat feel about it; both are equally good.

c'est une dédicace sur la pochette lol
so good rock n roll, before it became corporation alized and fucked music over to what its become, with exceptions of a few.
Is it just me or is this the *worst* way they could've cut this down?
😂
I liked the music, but not the B.S. he said!
Why?
This is terrible
Wrong
An improv in the middle of the night by a drunk band ain't gonna be perfection, it was meant to be for fun. :)
....also it's a 64-minute performance edited to incoherence, so there's that. XD
