Dirty Whiteboy @ 50 I'm considered old, too. I gathered it's from the hysterical song from "Lonely Island." You're never too old to stop knowing what's going on. There's still some great things happening, despite all of our society's insanity. PEACE!

This album proves The Doors would have eased into the 70's without a problem, right along with The Stones and Led Zeppelin. Unlike some 60's bands The Doors would have been a major driving force through-out the 70's and beyond...

Absolutely! In fact, there was a huge resurgence of interest in the Doors in the late 70's and early 80's. Ray Manzarek then said Jim was way ahead of his time...and he still is!

Same goes for the rest of the band, most people focus on Jim but in my eyes each member of the band were equally gifted, they were one of a kind, immaculate some may say, one of my favourites bands of all time and the first I turn when I feel low, their time together was short lived but the quality and quantity of what they created during that time was astonishing and totally unique and will never be equalled, Jim was the Lizard King but could only do anything with the Doors behind him... Gotta run, got my SG and Robby trying to teach me, no matter how much I try even with the man himself can't recreate Mr Krieger feel

As a Deadhead, ever hear their cover in 66 when they were still just a primitive psychedelic bar band? There's one or two recorded versions, circa Nov/Dec 66. It's a happy little tune in their approach. Much different lyrically, as all these old blues songs were depending on who did them.

Great points!! Great band!! Manzerek sort of set them apart from other bands too. (I think he is on keys and some songs are centered around that keyboard) I can say as an artist, an always starving one however, that creating art is essential to any chance of climbing from that depression (as you say) or frustration of words failing us. All too often words pale to ideas. Jim M was not starving by The End (pun very intended lol) but obviously always frustrated. Lucky us. 🫤 Too bad we didn’t get another decade or more of his genius.

does your fear of death actually make you embrace it to the point where you come here and curse God himself Jesus Christ is God and if you don't believe in his death burial and Resurrection you have no hope in this world you have no peace that passeth understanding. good luck to you man and God bless. just so you know the Roman Orthodox church and the Catholic Church denies by grace through faith that you are saved and that not of yourself lest any man should boast so only 7% of Christians even claim to believe what the Bible says and you shouldn't judge us until you open that Bible yourself and understand what the fruit of the spirit is. Jim Morrison embraced death to his own destruction please do not follow him sir. you're more than welcome to look at my channel to find proof after proof mathematical archaeological scientific and every other type of proof that there is that Jesus Christ is God and he predicted the beginning to the end he truly is the Alpha and Omega.

Not sure why but i just woke up and had to here this song tonight. Morrison was a poetic genius. I in fact had a book of his poems that I cherished and stupidly let a so called friend borrow it and no matter how much I asked for it back he would never return it to me. Can you even imagine?? Pure hard core lyrics and rock to go with it. How lucky were we to be alive to witness Morrison and all his genius.

Whenever I'm really down, I find one of these tunes, alternate version, or concert and I'm in a entire, opposite state. It's better than therapy. Maybe it is.
Love this song. Robbie is just a beast like no other. Its reslly even hard to compare him to anyone specific cause he did his own style. His attitude now, then and thru the years was stellar. Much more free, and laid back, in his own mind. He's playing these unique riffs, and cuts and it's like he's not even trying and killing it.

I love this solo, it is not best I've heard in terms of composition, but I consider it fits perfectly with the mood of this song, it conveys depression, mental disorder, and some sort of fury.
