Congratulations! I watch the UA-camr Mossy Bottom and Moss will forever be linked in my mind with the sweetest, most soft-spoken Englishman rebuilding in a cottage in rural Ireland. Calm, tranquility, sweetness and nature. Just lovely.
Happy New Year and Baby Name Monday, SJ!! I was wondering if you could do a video of baby names that have songs with their name? Examples: "Sweet Caroline," "Hey There Delilah," "Hey Jude"...
I love Kestrel, Wilder, Hemlock, Everest, Devereaux, and Zephyr! And funny enough, I just made the connection between Everest and Devereaux myself yesterday. Such cool sibling names! Ottilie or the variations on the spelling is so cool! It means wealthy or fortunate. I live in a part of Australia that was settled by German migrants and about 50% of the old 100-200 year head stones are all Ottilie. Hopefully it's not too morbid but cemeteries are excellent places for interesting old fashioned names that need a revival.

I’ve been obsessed with the name Evergreen for a little girl for a long time I haven’t seen it on any name lists or heard anyone called it but I just think it’s so pretty. Maybe Evie as a nickname. So cute! 🤗 I also have Wilder and Hemlock on my list and Forest for a girl! As well as Elowen or Elowyn for a girl which means (elm tree) so pretty as well.
I live in Montana! I’m delighted to see it on this list! I’ve met a boy with this name, and I also know a woman named Montana Sky (which is breathtaking)! Hemlock deserves a place on the charts. Stunning!
Rhodes is actually really cute. My Fiance and I- 8 years ago when we were 16 we went on our first holiday together to Rhodes. He’s half Italian and half Greek. Rhodes Baccaro? What do you guys think?
omg thats so adorable! its absolutely perfect! rhodes is such a cool name plus it has significance in ur and ur fiances relationship too! im freaking out over here! i think its adorable how everything fits so perfectly!!!! also the ro in ur surname goes well with the rho sound in rhodes! even the syllables match!!!! yayayay!
I know a little boy named Bryer which I first thought was a little girly but spelled with a ‘ye’ instead of ‘ia’ makes the name more masculine too me which I really like!
We just had a baby boy. His name is Alfred Louis, nickname Alfie. :) I realize it's a pretty common name in the UK. We live in Austria and Alfred is not used at all. I think there were only a couple of Alfreds born in the last few decades, so it's pretty rare (which was very important to us). Alfie is not used at all as a name as well; I think it's not even ranked. Louis has gained in popularity in the last few years and is in the Top 20 - however, we used it to honor my husband's late uncle who's name was Alois. I've been following you for quite a while now and got the name Alfie from your videos and fell in love with it. :)
Wolfgang is my four-year-old nephews name. I remember a woman who had a son named Talon who died on a motorcycle. I never forgot that story because of his name
I just realised this video is from 2 years ago. So many of these names have become popular in the past year. So I've had Moss/Mossy on my list for years, however it is quite a popular nn for Morris where I live amongst men 50+ and when I mentioned it on a baby name group nobody seemed to like it. Tempest is another name I've had on my list since I was a teenager. Love it.
I could never use the name Moss at i just associate it with the character from the "IT Crowd" tv programme! He's the least wild Moss you could ever imagine! I do love "Vallie" as a shortened version of Valentina!
I remember reading somewhere that the creators of BMW came up with the name Topanga because of that canyon; something like they were driving on the freeway and saw a sign for it and decided to use that as the name for the character. Some other nature names I like are Delta, River, Flora or Fleur, Luna, Mariposa (butterfly in Spanish) and Estrella (Spanish pronunciation as it is the Spanish word for star).
I love the name Rhode, so without the s at the end. This is also the name of the oldest of the Oceanids from Greek mythology. Actually most names that I love are from one of the Oceanids, like Acaste, Calypso, Dione, Electra, Melia, Merope, Styx, Xanthe and many more! Really recommend looking up the list of names of the Oceanids!
I have a little boy River born in May. My husband really pushed for it, I had to be convinced but now absolutely love it. So I think you have great taste 😊
@@hayleybarnes8789 ah congrats! Kinda jealous I love the name so much haha! When me and my husband have kids I think we’ll use river for our first whether it’s a boy or girl🥰 it’s the other way round for us I love it and I’m still convincing my husband lol!
I also av a lil boy river. Love this name so much . I am now expecting another baby not sure why I'm having so after a girls name n boy something wat goes well with river. But finding it so hard
Love these new nature names, especially Valley and Vine! I actually think Briar Linen could be really pretty - maybe not as a double barrel but a first and middle. Also love Prairie because it has this really beautiful familiarity to me, and you helped me realize it's because Prairie rhymes with Mary. Forever grateful for even more future child name inspo, SJ
I'm the middle of the video, a commercial for a body product with Aloe came on...and I thought that Aloe could be a really interesting and pretty name.
Yes! I am so happy you made this SJ! My number 1 girl’s name has always been Ember which fits in well here, and I also love Lark and Dove. For boys I love Cove and Arrow. Also Fox is quite a lovely gender neutral name? Xxx
Thanks for adding Valley to my baby list! It's beautiful and matches the theme I would love to have if I had girls. Me my Mum (Valerie) and my Sister (Viola) all start with V so I'd love to keep that for my baby😍 Valley is also the name of a band I love with a lot of emotional attachment, so it's perfect PS: Never heard Kestrel as a name for a person but it's really cool
Have you hears the name Vorriey? I had a friend with the name as a little girl and she’s the only one I’ve met but I always liked it. Pronounced Vor-ee
I've always liked girl names that start with v. My favourite right now are Valeria, Violeta (i pronounced as ee) and Vesna (slavic goddess of spring). The last one kinda goes with the nature theme haha
There’s a girl in my class named Roslind but I thought that Rosalind would be a great name for a little girl because it sounds more like Rose which I like
I absolutely love this list SJ! I really like the name Falcon but cant use it because here in Australia Falcon is classed as a very chav name its high up on the bogan list of names here! Lol
Happy new year - right, already feels a little better! Love Briar for a girl and Vine for a boy! We are expecting our little one in July. So excited! Addicted to your videos!
I would love a list of short cute names starting with letter A. Too specific? 😅 Also rare and beautiful Swedish/ Norwegian / Danish / Icelandic names would be nice. 🤩
Thinking of outdoor ocean sailing adventure names for a boy. Ridley - small sea turtle Tropic - short for tropical Reef - ocean coral/rock Coast - seaside Ocean - the sea Anybody have other “unique” ideas similar to this theme?
hey! on a show i watch some of the babies names are on your theme and i really like them! here they are: saylor- gender neutral but i definitely love it for a boy! layke- i would personally spell it traditionally, just lake, but i love this name! rivers- this is a little girls name in the show, but i think it could work for a boy! (especially if you drop the s and leave it at river) blu- this isn’t quite on your theme but you could probably stretch it to “the ocean blue” or something like that i also think that cory could be good, a shortened version of coral! hope this helps!
Briar Rose is one of my all time favorites. I love all things Disney, we went to Disney World on our honeymoon, and I read the book Briar Rose in college and just fell in love. Still working on convincing my husband, but hopefully one day.
My current audio book I’m listening to is Before We Were Yours, the names are so good. Queenie, Briny, Rill, Silas, Camellia, Lark, Fern, & Gabion. I definitely recommend a listen Lark & Fern as girls names totally fit this list
I absolutely LOVE Moss- it’s my favourite baby name! Unfortunately, my boyfriend’s grandad used to have a dog named moss... I’m thinking maybe Amos as a nice alternative with Moss as a nickname?
Happy New Year SJ to you and yours and thank you for another great list 😍 Another wild nature name for girls that I think would be a great, less popular alternative to Ivy is Fern or Ferne! I also like Bryony which is a wild climbing vine.
I love Bryony as an alternative to Ivy and Fern is so sweet, gentle and quirky , just like Ivy but as you said both are far less common than Ivy and also quite lovely.
We’re bringing home a new puppy in a month and we’re going to name her Sidra, it means like a star in Latin and I feel it’s a refreshing change from the popular name Stella.
As soon as you mentioned the place Tuscany I wondered why that hasn't been snapped up as a baby name yet? It's a very beautiful place and seems to fit as a name all on its own. Place names are popular and Tuscany sounds cool.
in Spanish, Montana would actually be written as Montaña and pronounced mont-anya which is a nice idea for a name that's is kinda similar to Anya. thanks for the video SJ :)
i’m only 15 but i LOVE baby names and my dream is to have a boy named denver and a girl named montana and call her mo !!! (i also love the name arizona with either ari or zona for a nickname. as you can tell i love place names haha) what do you think ? are those too out there ? denver and mo ? let me know ☺️
I live in an area with a huge native American population (Navajo specifically) and I think they have some great names! Talon, Nizhoni (pronounced ni-sho-nee/means beautiful), and Shandiin ("shan-deen" which means sunshine) are some of my favorites! They're also pretty popular here but I doubt anyone outside of the southwest U.S. has heard them.
Loves all these names! My best friends little boy is about a year and half old, she named him Oxly Wilder, nicknamed him Ox. She loved the idea of him being able to grow into the name Ox once he hits his young adult years. Had never heard either names until she had him. Was instantly in love with both names.
I really need some help for a middle name spot for Rosabel (rosa-belle ponunciation) - would be grateful for any help from you guys!! We have the surname Grey. Love the video as always SJ ❤ Devereux is beautiful 😍
Thank you everyone! We are quite set on Rosabel as one name because we think it is pretty together so definitely like a shorter middle name 🥰 Alma is pretty! As is Marie. Just don't want her to sound too twee either so was wondering whether to go a little more edgy! We loved Rosabel Ray but it rhymes with Grey so think it might sound a little silly haha! Thank you so much for the inspo.
I like Rosabel Sienna, Rosabel Elara or Rosabel Linnea a lot. I think they sound quite cool with your surname. Rosabel Lavender Grey is also a nice one if you like the color theme

I love these names but some of them just sound so much better in your accent than mine 🤣
my exact thought when she said Kastrel
I have the same problem but with language. I really like the name Wilder, but when I think of people in my country saying it I just shudder, haha!
Lol yes, I'm Australian and while I am very well spoken, I can also be a real occa and some of these names just sound terrible with an Aussie accent.
Oh my goodness this was my thought exactly lol 😂😂🤍🤍

I live in Montana! I’m delighted to see it on this list! I’ve met a boy with this name, and I also know a woman named Montana Sky (which is breathtaking)!
Hemlock deserves a place on the charts. Stunning!
Rhodes is actually really cute. My Fiance and I- 8 years ago when we were 16 we went on our first holiday together to Rhodes. He’s half Italian and half Greek. Rhodes Baccaro? What do you guys think?
omg thats so adorable! its absolutely perfect! rhodes is such a cool name plus it has significance in ur and ur fiances relationship too! im freaking out over here! i think its adorable how everything fits so perfectly!!!! also the ro in ur surname goes well with the rho sound in rhodes! even the syllables match!!!! yayayay!
Love your channel! I binged all your baby name videos while pregnant. We welcomed Paloma Thea in October 2020 ❤️
Congratulations!!!
Congratulations! Paloma was on my list but we had a boy.
Congratulations! Gorgeous name!
I don't think Valley would work in Wales. A Valley girl is not particularly a compliment 😜
I know a little boy named Bryer which I first thought was a little girly but spelled with a ‘ye’ instead of ‘ia’ makes the name more masculine too me which I really like!
It made me think of Breyer's ice cream. Yum.
My baby girl will be named Briar-Grace!!
Beautiful! I love it🤍
I love it!! congrats 🥰
Jordan Page on UA-cam has a son named Devereux and a girl named Joss
I love the name Coast!
Video idea: favorite girl/boy names starting with each letter of the alphabet
I was surprised that Sage and Cove weren’t on the list! They’re very popular, especially here in Australia
We just had a baby boy. His name is Alfred Louis, nickname Alfie. :)
I realize it's a pretty common name in the UK.
Hey SJ, what do you think of Henley? It nature related and means “high meadow”
Ask Don Henley
Wolfgang is my four-year-old nephews name.
I remember a woman who had a son named Talon who died on a motorcycle. I never forgot that story because of his name
I just realised this video is from 2 years ago. So many of these names have become popular in the past year. So I've had Moss/Mossy on my list for years, however it is quite a popular nn for Morris where I live amongst men 50+ and when I mentioned it on a baby name group nobody seemed to like it. Tempest is another name I've had on my list since I was a teenager. Love it.
What an excellent list of unique names! I love Lathan and Zephyr :D
List idea: Lord of the Rings inspired names!
love the name Arwen from Lord of the Rings !!
Called my boy Wilder last April! Love it
I wish I could use it but out last name ends in ‘er’ and I think it would clash :(
My granny’s maiden name is briar so would have a family connection with me.
I love that!!! And also love your name 🥰🥰🥰Lottie- so sweet 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🤍🤍🤍
Cedar, Cypress, and Hazel are the middle names for my three kids, but I’m having a hard time figuring out our fourth! Juniper?
I love Cedar! My favourite combination is Ceder (Dutch spelling) and Rowan (for a girl). Other options: Birch, Wren or Elmer/Elm?
Rowan?
I could never use the name Moss at i just associate it with the character from the "IT Crowd" tv programme! He's the least wild Moss you could ever imagine! I do love "Vallie" as a shortened version of Valentina!
Pressing like before starting the video, because duh, it’s SJ and baby name Sunday, it’s always good:)
I once knew a lady named Vallie. I LOVED her name and never heard or even met another since then. I think it is such a gorgeous name!
Hi SJ, would love to see a video on UK middle names if such data is kept? X
Love these names SJ! Some other nature names I love are Wren and Meadow.
I love Calypso! It's on my list.
Am I the only one who though sleeping beauty was called Aurora? 🙈
It was, Briar Rose was the name the fairy godmothers gave her when hiding out in the forest!
Briar rose is sleeping beauty’s alias when she was hiding from maleficent
I did too 😂😂😂 Never was a princess kind of girl growing up 😬 I was a horse person.
Her name given name is Princess Aurora. While growing up with the fairies, they called her Briar Rose.
Currently have the biggest crush on the name River! It’s getting a bit more popular now but hope to use it one day for either a boy or girl 🥰
My 5yr old grandson is River and his new baby brother is Reef, my daughter’s name is Brooke
Xxx
baby name mondays are always my favorite part of the week! so lovely to watch your videos during these unpredictable times xx
I’ve always loved the name Oakley-Fox I just think they go together so well and I love the sound of it x
Thanks for adding Valley to my baby list! It's beautiful and matches the theme I would love to have if I had girls. Me my Mum (Valerie) and my Sister (Viola) all start with V so I'd love to keep that for my baby😍 Valley is also the name of a band I love with a lot of emotional attachment, so it's perfect
PS: Never heard Kestrel as a name for a person but it's really cool
I want to thank you. Our baby girl was born Sept 27th and I got her name from one of your videos. I love your videos 🙂
I would love a list of short cute names starting with letter A. Too specific? 😅 Also rare and beautiful Swedish/ Norwegian / Danish / Icelandic names would be nice. 🤩
I like Sigra, which is an old Nordic rune meaning to overcome or to win and also Berkanan, which is an old Nordic rune for birch.
I have a Montana Raine. And in Native American it means Mountain of Rain.
Valley is stunning I'm hooked! However I just changed the spelling & put 2 names together & this is what I'm using Vallierose
I'm so in love with Boy Meets World, so my heart skipped at Topanga! 🥰
Yes it’s such a cool name too! X
Same
Thinking of outdoor ocean sailing adventure names for a boy.
Ridley - small sea turtle
Tropic - short for tropical
Reef - ocean coral/rock
Coast - seaside
Ocean - the sea
Anybody have other “unique” ideas similar to this theme?
hey! on a show i watch some of the babies names are on your theme and i really like them!
here they are:
saylor- gender neutral but i definitely love it for a boy!
layke- i would personally spell it traditionally, just lake, but i love this name!
rivers- this is a little girls name in the show, but i think it could work for a boy! (especially if you drop the s and leave it at river)
blu- this isn’t quite on your theme but you could probably stretch it to “the ocean blue” or something like that
i also think that cory could be good, a shortened version of coral!
hope this helps!
One of my friends has a Briar-Lily and a different friend has Briar Meadow, so I definitely can’t use it, but it’s my favourite on this list 😍
Peregrine is another good name from a falcon species :)
The typical Spanish nickname for Ignacio is Nacho. I think it’s really sweet and quirky
That is adorable!
Yes it is :) I have a cousin Ignacio that goes by nacho or iggy
Yes I know a Nacho!
How cute!
My uncles name is Ignacio and he goes by “Nacho” 🙃
loved the theme of this list!!
Briar Rose is one of my all time favorites. I love all things Disney, we went to Disney World on our honeymoon, and I read the book Briar Rose in college and just fell in love. Still working on convincing my husband, but hopefully one day.
I had that on my baby name list with my last baby but we went with Daisy I wanted a Disney inspired name
@@deborahhawkins9939 Daisy is so sweet! I love it.
Awww thank you
YES!!!! haven’t new gotten through the beginning ads yet but I’ve been waiting for this one!!!! ☺️
My current audio book I’m listening to is Before We Were Yours, the names are so good. Queenie, Briny, Rill, Silas, Camellia, Lark, Fern, & Gabion. I definitely recommend a listen
Lark & Fern as girls names totally fit this list
I absolutely LOVE Moss- it’s my favourite baby name! Unfortunately, my boyfriend’s grandad used to have a dog named moss... I’m thinking maybe Amos as a nice alternative with Moss as a nickname?
Happy New Year SJ to you and yours and thank you for another great list 😍
Another wild nature name for girls that I think would be a great, less popular alternative to Ivy is Fern or Ferne!
I also like Bryony which is a wild climbing vine.
I love Bryony as an alternative to Ivy and Fern is so sweet, gentle and quirky , just like Ivy but as you said both are far less common than Ivy and also quite lovely.
Can you do the teen lists again? Really loved the idea!
We’re bringing home a new puppy in a month and we’re going to name her Sidra, it means like a star in Latin and I feel it’s a refreshing change from the popular name Stella.
I agree!
As soon as you mentioned the place Tuscany I wondered why that hasn't been snapped up as a baby name yet? It's a very beautiful place and seems to fit as a name all on its own. Place names are popular and Tuscany sounds cool.
Tempest is gorgeous
With Falcon I have to think about the late Austrian singer Falco.
in Spanish, Montana would actually be written as Montaña and pronounced mont-anya which is a nice idea for a name that's is kinda similar to Anya. thanks for the video SJ :)
i’m only 15 but i LOVE baby names and my dream is to have a boy named denver and a girl named montana and call her mo !!! (i also love the name arizona with either ari or zona for a nickname. as you can tell i love place names haha) what do you think ? are those too out there ? denver and mo ? let me know ☺️
totally love✨
I live in an area with a huge native American population (Navajo specifically) and I think they have some great names! Talon, Nizhoni (pronounced ni-sho-nee/means beautiful), and Shandiin ("shan-deen" which means sunshine) are some of my favorites! They're also pretty popular here but I doubt anyone outside of the southwest U.S. has heard them.
A nature name I have always loved and never heard anyone talk about is Larkspur. I think Lark is such a strong nickname as well.
Oh wow that’s stunning! 🥰😍
Hii i have a few from my list hopefully they help
Hadley
Carter
Alma
Vera
Evelyn
Maylin
Roma
Miriam
Bliss
Poppy
Sylvie
Vega
Otilie
'i would personally go with a shorter middle name. rosabel marie, rosabel anne, rosabel lu, rosabel may
Thank you everyone!
@@Hannah-ov8ho These are absolutely beautiful suggestions! Love the idea of Sienna and Elara- thank you!!
