Ah this finally uploaded!!! Hope you enjoy the names; I'm a bit in love with Jericho right now! And do suggest any names for the lovely Bree who is this weeks viewer dilemma SJ xxxx
I’m not 100% sure I have the correct meanings but since Bree seems to like somewhat “unusual” names, some i love, that she might like, are Elwood meaning “noble woods”, Evander which means “Good man” and Rockwell meaning “rock spring”.
With your adorable accent all names sound nice. I watch your videos and my husband said..” Are you trying to tell me something?” I’m 76 years old . lol
Samson sounds a bit like Samsung, which is the only reason I thought could be an issue with that name. Kind of like how people might not like to name their child Alexa for similar reasons. I like both names but I can understand the reasons against.
My grandfathers name was Francisco and I was thinking of naming a daughter Francisca. But I didn’t know if it sounded weird. But I also don’t like Francesca.
So happy to see this video eek! My name is Maisie Moonbeam and my sister is Niamh Starlet so I have always wanted to incorporate those themes into names for my own children someday! I also recently lost my Mum, who to everyone was ‘the Sunshine in their lives’ - I will carry her name and the Sun theme into my future kids names too. Can’t wait to get more inspo from you! Thank you!💘🌞🌜🌟
I'll just add some Arabic names: Shams شمس(female): sun. Shurouq شروق (female) : sunrise. Fajr فَجْر (male) : dawn. Qamar, rhymes with summer, (female) : moon. Badr بَدْر (male) : full moon. Bodour بُدور (female) full moons. Hilal هلال (male) crescent, the female version is Hilala هلالة, but in some places they can sound old fashioned. Hala هالة (female) : aura or halo. Layla ليلى (female) : night sky. Najm نَجْم (male) : star, the female version is Najma نجمة but again some might consider them old. Thuraya or Soraya ثريا (female) : constellation. Tariq طارق (male) : bright star. Shihab شهاب (male) : shooting star.
My husband's great grandma was Badra, is that just the female version of Badr? Interestingly, we named our daughter after his grandma Rahel but we used the English variant, Rachel. Her nickname is Rue, a lot like you.
@@msaijay1153 there was a period of time where it was common for people to just take the male name and add the a ending to make it feminine, and you would find siblings with the same name basically, the majority of the these girls are grandmas now, so it is very old fashioned. Actually my name is Ruaa, which means visions and dreams, but Ru is just a nickname 💙💙
@@ae6805 I didn't know that! I knew that Turkish people used a lot of Arabic names, and Arabs used a lot of Turkish names as well, but now you've mentioned it I think a lot of times the "genders" of the names get flipped.
For anyone looking to use many of these names, I would suggest doing more research into their true provenance. For example, the biblical origin of Jericho. Oberon is medieval/Shakespearen as is Cressida taken from Homer. Celestial bodies are often named after people, places etc from antiquity, so prudent to research further to avoid any meanings or associations you might dislike.
Phoebus is also a sun name with mythological connections. You could have Phoebe as the female form. I love the idea of having twin girls called Phoebe and Stella ( sun and star!).
You missed out one of my favourite names - Andromeda - the closest galaxy to our own. I always thought the nicknames Andi or, slightly braver, Meda, were quite cool.
Moon is our rescue dogs name, he was already called that when we adopted him and I just love it. I do think we'll keep the theme for future human children 💛🌚🐕
I died when you said you liked Danica and Hesper together... those are the names of two sisters in my novel and I was like "what are the odds she's going to say Hesper?" haha! :)
Poor Aussie Momma stuck for her baby name...how about Tullius nickname Tully meaning "heavy rain" i think its beautiful and goes really well with her daughters names...good luck in finding the perfect one x x
I'm French and this kind of name doesn't exist in my country, even if I agree with you with the fact that Soleil is really beautiful, it would be considered so ridiculous in France
I love the Oberon/Orion type of name, it’s not star related but Orson is my favorite that has the same vibe, it means bear cub and I am in LOVE with it.
We are adopting sibling girls. We are adding a first name and they will be Lulani which is Hawaiian meaning sky or heaven, Zohara which is Hebrew for light or splendor, and Solana which is a Spanish variant meaning sunshine or more literally the place the sun hits.
Why are you renaming children when they already have a name? Is that cultural? Never heard of doing that and would have thought they already had an identity in their names?
@@bettyjoy6361 It's actually quite common with young children to change the first name. But even older kids sometimes want the new names, to start a new chapter. If you have a conversation about it and the children want the new name (sometimes to fit in culturally if it is international adoption, sometimes just to start over) it should be fine.
Are you picking those names to fit in with your Hawaiian culture or just because you think they’ll fit in better with those names in your community? I’m a name fanatic so I’m not trying to be rude, I’m just interested in the origin or what goes into re-naming children.
For the baby name dilemma I was going to suggest the name Ariyon Walken. Ariyon I came up with because I was googling "after the rain" and somehow landed on an actor called Ariyon and I just really liked it and thought it went well with Day. Walken is Australian Aboriginal meaning Rainbow - I thought being Australian and meaning Rainbow (coming after the rain and their rainbow baby) might be appropriate. I am so sorry for the baby they lost and I am so glad they have a little brother for their two daughters now. I wish them all well x
Oooo Going off the rain meaning and I thought went really well with the viewers surname. Indra Day. Indra means "possessing drops of rain" in India. Indra is a Hindu God of Lightning, Thunder and Rain
My oldest daughter is named Eliana - daughter of the sun . And my youngest daughter born last April is named Lua- Moon (in Brazilian/Portugese/Cabo verde Creol)🥰
You had asked on a podcast about names having influenced career paths... my initials are M.D. and I became a physician and my brother is Francisco and he is an astrophysicist (I had no idea it was a moon of uranus... it's just a traditional very common name over here)
I knew a Marisol in highschool, It's a nice name but she wasn't very nice to me so I don't think I'd use it. But Cyrus is my brother's name so that's cool, eh? Also Cressida and Danika are beautiful.
I've always thought 'words which would be nice names if they didn't mean something else' would be a great theme 😅😅'chlamydia' for example.. anyone else??
For the baby name dilemma, maybe zephyr? I think zephyr day is such an amazing cool name, similar to the name she was interested in, and goes well with her girls names
Love this long list! I know an Eliana and a Cyrus. Blaze (and also Blaise) makes me think of the slang for smoking marijuana. I think Cressida is gorgeous!
Marisol is a very common name in Latin countries …not a particularly pretty one for me ….I think is one of those names that might sound exotic and unique for English speakers but not that special or nice for Spanish speaking people
I love celestial names and this give me so much inspiration for an upcoming book series I'm starting plus I've recently been loving the name Ryzin (I have no idea what it means but honestly it sounds like a futuristic way of spelling Rising like the rising sun)
I'm from St Ives in Cornwall and have a Cornish tattoo, of the sun , moon and stars; Sun - Howl Moon - Loer ( pronounced L~Our) Star - Steren Love your videos! Xxx
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟💕💕💕💕💕❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ such very awesomely awesome cool and fantastically fantastic names I so very very very much enjoyed and loved loved loved the names on the list. I got a lot of inspiration for my character names in my book and inspiration for my invented names 😎😎😎😎😎🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍😍😍
We gave our daughter the middle name Etoile, meaning star in French. Her first name was Evie. She sadly passed away before she was born and we felt strongly we wanted a star name. My husband is half French and our eldest child already had a French middle name so it was important to give her that too. Also crushing on Jericho, you sold me completely on it being a great girls name!
I’m 22 weeks pregnant with a baby girl. I have loved watching your videos for years and I can’t wait to pull all of the name inspiration for my baby girl!
💖 your channel I just given birth to my little girl 10 days ago and named her Amabella Ivy 🌿 Got the name Amabella from the tv series Big Little Lies 😉🥰
As an Spanish person, I am familiar with the name "Marisol". In fact, this name doesn't mean "Sea and Sun" (although it's literal traduction is so, it's meaning isn't that one), but it's an abbreviation between "María" (Mary) and the name "Sol" (of Latin origin, which does literally mean "Sun"). Also, "Francisco" means "belonging to the people of the Franks". Anyways, a very good video!
Baby name suggestion: Calder! Apparently it means rocky water...I love the idea of a babbling brook carrying rain water to the sea...stepping stones..."Pooh sticks" ...seems a bit magical to me. Calder Brendan Day? Beautiful!
My oldest is named Oberon but spelled Auberon. Same meaning. We were going to call him Bear as his nickname but it didn't stick, we call him Obie. But everyone asks "like Obi Wan Kenobi?" Haha not bothered by that though
Best Sun 🌞 name (in my opinion) - Eliana Best moon 🌙 name - Phoebe & Best star 🌟 name - Lucien To the viewer - I love their choice in going with Amaya Rose 🌹❤ (for their little daughter) Lilith? Or Lilia? Zara? Serena? Hope these help, good luck to Bree choosing the perfect name 🤞
There was actually a girl in my neighborhood that was called Emilia Sunshine. Her and all her siblings had Sunshine as their middle name. I didn't think of that for years until you said "Emilia Sunshine" and I had immediate flashbacks 😂
How do you pronounce it, please? I dar lia? I absolutely love it and am currently 22 weeks pregnant, but just interested in people's pronunciation of it. Any help would be fantastic if possible. TIA x
@@heidiloveridge390 we're Hispanic so she pronounces the I as you do in Spanish. So for us it sounds like E Dal Lia. The Lia sounding like Leah. I hope that helps? :)
@@sorasgirl101 Ah, such a beautiful name. Thank you so much for your help. Not sure if it's right for us, but it certainly is lovely, as is its meaning x
For Bree… How about Raiden Fiore. Raiden meaning thunder and lighting, and Fiore meaning blossoming flower. Or Faro Zeypher. Faro meaning lighthouse, something you can see in the rain and Zeyher the name she’s not set on
I know a couple girls called Blaise, which might be a more appealing spelling for some people who feel like Blaze is a bit to masculine for a girl. It is a different name though, and it means lisp or stutter, which isn’t the most alluring meaning, but if you’re thinking the meaning of blaze with a slightly softer spelling, I think it’s a good option!
I love the extra long baby names list! I have a third on the way and I also absolutely cannot figure out a name! Hoping to find a good one in your videos ❤️
@@Claire-f Some names I think would fit well: Jude Milo Atticus Lincoln Leon Andrew Alexander Sawyer Thomas Augustine Sage Ezra Adriano Angelo Collin/Collins Silas Sterling Percy Apollo (a more “out there” name for Paul)
Olen came to mind. Theodore, Fae and Olen. Or Orrin. Olen was on my boy list because I love the nickname Lenny. But I feel since for have a 3 syllable and then a 1 syllable, a 2 syllable flows best and O name echos the dominant sound in his brother's name without being too matchy
For Bree; how about ZERU ? -still a 'Z'name. It is a Basque name meaning 'sky' or 'from the sky' A friend has just named her baby Eliana. I know a Filipino Marisol and a French Solange and Lucien.
For your dilemma 2 possibilities that have lovely meanings. Dalfon A highly unusual weather name with a distinctive sound, Dalfon is of Hebrew origin. Dalfon is a boy’s baby name meaning ‘raindrop’. Sulien A rare name Sulien is a boy’s name of Welsh origin. The name Sulien means ‘sun born’.
Francisco is a very common name in Brazil! A popular nickname for Francisco is Chico (pronounced She-Ko), which is really cute! But there's a famous cartoon character here, Chico Bento, and I immediately associate that name to him, so I could never go with that... Might work for a pet, though!
Always shocked when my name makes any list! ☺️ Chandra is another Indian “moon” name. For star: love “Tara” (Sanskrit) or derivatives like Tarini, Tarika
@@TaraLyz my daughter’s middle name…when hubby’s “from Ireland” boss heard it, he was confused. “Why’d you give her an Irish name?!” Especially as her first name sounds Irish, as well! 😅
I'm so happy to see Neoma on a list!!!! It's a favorite of mine and no one ever seems to like it. 😭 Others from the moon list I'm loving include Francisco, Jovian (😍), Celena, Phoebe, Oberon, Diana, and Artemis (my cat's name lol) Some other moon names: Altalune- "over the moon" Evaluna- compound of Eva and Luna Qamar- Arabic name meaning moon Osbert is honestly so cute. 💖 From the sun list I adore Marisol, Idalia, and Sunniva. Some other sunny names I love: Sóley- Icelandic name which literally translates to "sun island," but it's also the icelandic word for buttercup flowers! Sounds very similar to French Soleil, but the emphasis is more on Sol. Apollo/Apollonia- Apollo was the Greek God associated with the sun, twin and counterpart to Artemis. Solana/Solara/Solaris/Soleil- "sun" Domingo- Spanish word for Sunday a name sometimes given to boys born on a Sunday. Oriana/Oriane- Latin/French from Latin "sunrise" Kiara- Korean name meaning "first ray of sun" Iliodor- "gift of the sun" Russian variation of Greek Heliodor/Heliodoros. Liodor is another Russian variation. I like Esther/Estelle/Estela/Estella/Estrella a lot, and Hesper is intriguing. Also loving Sterling, Lucien/Lucian/Luciano, and Galileo (or Galilea!) Other star names: Etoile- French, "star" Yvaine- "Evening star" literary name from Neil Gaiman's fantasy novel, Stardust. Maristela- compound of Maris and Stela/Stella, "sea and stars" or, "star of the sea" Svetlana- Russian, "star" Seren- Welsh for star Izar- Basque for star Polaris- Latin, "North star"
We are using Lucian also spelled Lucien for are boy due in September ive never heard it pronounced the way you pronounced it we pronounce it lu-she-in or lu-sh-in
Been watching your videos since I found out I was pregnant in March of 2019. I named my baby girl Isla💜 This is, by far, my FAVORITE list of baby names!!! Who would have known that there were soooo many beautiful and unique baby name that we could find by looking towards the heavens😊
Cosmo for Bree’s boy gives me night vibes! Or Elian/Elias/Elio are all really nice. The first 2 are Hebrew religious names but elio means the sun. Also Maven meaning one who understands has a watery feel to it!

Funny to see my name is on the list! I really love the name Eliana so pretty
My oldest daughter is named Eliana🥰❤️
Did not expect to see my name on this list!!! Another lovely video as always!
Baby name suggestion: Calder! Apparently it means rocky water...I love the idea of a babbling brook carrying rain water to the sea...stepping stones..."Pooh sticks" ...seems a bit magical to me. Calder Brendan Day? Beautiful!
What about Jonah Sage. She likes nature names. Jonah means dove which is a symbol of peace. Sage is a plant name but it also means wisdom.
Starla is a beautiful name for a girl 🤦♀️
My oldest is named Oberon but spelled Auberon. Same meaning. We were going to call him Bear as his nickname but it didn't stick, we call him Obie. But everyone asks "like Obi Wan Kenobi?" Haha not bothered by that though
Best Sun 🌞 name (in my opinion) - Eliana
Best moon 🌙 name - Phoebe
& Best star 🌟 name - Lucien
To the viewer - I love their choice in going with Amaya Rose 🌹❤ (for their little daughter) Lilith? Or Lilia? Zara? Serena? Hope these help, good luck to Bree choosing the perfect name 🤞
I had a friend growing up named Jericho and her nickname was Echo. I've always absolutely loved it!
We have a daughter named Echo
There was actually a girl in my neighborhood that was called Emilia Sunshine. Her and all her siblings had Sunshine as their middle name. I didn't think of that for years until you said "Emilia Sunshine" and I had immediate flashbacks 😂
Idalia is my grandmother's name :)
A friend has a little boy called Francisco and I LOVE it! He also gets nicknamed Frank or Franco. So sweet.
Francisco short is Pancho
I love the name Atlas since forever, it’s always fun to see people use the name more now
For the Baby name dilemma Jorah might be a good fit? It means early/autumn rain, I think it goes well with their last name 😊
Thank you Sonia, that is a beautiful name.
Artemis and Apollo would be perfect for twins. Artemis is the goddess of the moon and Apollo is the god of the sun
For Bree…
How about Raiden Fiore. Raiden meaning thunder and lighting, and Fiore meaning blossoming flower.
Or Faro Zeypher. Faro meaning lighthouse, something you can see in the rain and Zeyher the name she’s not set on
Or combining your ideas, i think Faro Raiden is a stunning combo
I know a couple girls called Blaise, which might be a more appealing spelling for some people who feel like Blaze is a bit to masculine for a girl. It is a different name though, and it means lisp or stutter, which isn’t the most alluring meaning, but if you’re thinking the meaning of blaze with a slightly softer spelling, I think it’s a good option!
Love my immaturity of laughing every time you said orbiting Uranus 😂
Meeee too
I love the extra long baby names list! I have a third on the way and I also absolutely cannot figure out a name! Hoping to find a good one in your videos ❤️
Do you have a particular name style you like? Or what are your other two children named? I would love to help!
@@rashna3585 thank you! We have a Theodore and a Fae. This third will be another boy, and we love vintage, elegant, or literary names!
@@Claire-f Some names I think would fit well:
Jude
Milo
Atticus
Lincoln
Leon
Andrew
Alexander
Sawyer
Thomas
Augustine
Sage
Ezra
Adriano
Angelo
Collin/Collins
Silas
Sterling
Percy
Apollo (a more “out there” name for Paul)
@@Claire-f I read your children's names and finished your list with James. Theodore, Fey and James.
It is a Basque name meaning 'sky' or 'from the sky'
A friend has just named her baby Eliana. I know a Filipino Marisol and a French Solange and Lucien.
For your dilemma 2 possibilities that have lovely meanings. Dalfon
A highly unusual weather name with a distinctive sound, Dalfon is of Hebrew origin. Dalfon is a boy’s baby name meaning ‘raindrop’.
Sulien
A rare name Sulien is a boy’s name of Welsh origin. The name Sulien means ‘sun born’.
Love Sulien.
I know an Indu!
I always forget my name has a Sanskrit meaning. I’m more familiar with the Irish meaning.
@@donnabednarczyk786 it’s actually fairly common! :-). So fun!
@@TaraLyz my daughter’s middle name…when hubby’s “from Ireland” boss heard it, he was confused. “Why’d you give her an Irish name?!” Especially as her first name sounds Irish, as well! 😅
I have a grey cat called Luna and an orange and white cat called Sunshine 😅 (we call them Noodle and Sunny/Stinky)
I knew a girl called Star 🌟 but her name was Anastarsia
I'm so happy to see Neoma on a list!!!! It's a favorite of mine and no one ever seems to like it. 😭
Others from the moon list I'm loving include Francisco, Jovian (😍), Celena, Phoebe, Oberon, Diana, and Artemis (my cat's name lol)
Some other moon names:
Altalune- "over the moon"
Evaluna- compound of Eva and Luna
Qamar- Arabic name meaning moon
Osbert is honestly so cute. 💖
From the sun list I adore Marisol, Idalia, and Sunniva.
Some other sunny names I love:
Sóley- Icelandic name which literally translates to "sun island," but it's also the icelandic word for buttercup flowers! Sounds very similar to French Soleil, but the emphasis is more on Sol.
Apollo/Apollonia- Apollo was the Greek God associated with the sun, twin and counterpart to Artemis.
Solana/Solara/Solaris/Soleil- "sun"
Domingo- Spanish word for Sunday a name sometimes given to boys born on a Sunday.
Oriana/Oriane- Latin/French from Latin "sunrise"
Kiara- Korean name meaning "first ray of sun"
Iliodor- "gift of the sun" Russian variation of Greek Heliodor/Heliodoros. Liodor is another Russian variation.
I like Esther/Estelle/Estela/Estella/Estrella a lot, and Hesper is intriguing. Also loving Sterling, Lucien/Lucian/Luciano, and Galileo (or Galilea!)
Other star names:
Etoile- French, "star"
Yvaine- "Evening star" literary name from Neil Gaiman's fantasy novel, Stardust.
Maristela- compound of Maris and Stela/Stella, "sea and stars" or, "star of the sea"
Svetlana- Russian, "star"
Seren- Welsh for star
Izar- Basque for star
Polaris- Latin, "North star"
NO NO NO! I hoped you would never put Galileo on a list! It was my secret gem! 😭
Galileo Dinnertime! I laughed so hard haha
We are using Lucian also spelled Lucien for are boy due in September ive never heard it pronounced the way you pronounced it we pronounce it lu-she-in or lu-sh-in
Ah, congrats, great choice 👏👍
Love it! There‘a a “Lu-shin” Lucien in my brother’s class and I thought the name was gorgeous
I love Sunniva, Cressida, and Oberon so much!
Been watching your videos since I found out I was pregnant in March of 2019. I named my baby girl Isla💜
This is, by far, my FAVORITE list of baby names!!! Who would have known that there were soooo many beautiful and unique baby name that we could find by looking towards the heavens😊
When I hear Cressida, I keep thinking of the character in Bridgerton series, Cressida Cowper who is a meanie lolol
Cosmo for Bree’s boy gives me night vibes! Or Elian/Elias/Elio are all really nice. The first 2 are Hebrew religious names but elio means the sun. Also Maven meaning one who understands has a watery feel to it!
for the dilemma
