If bubble worked like the one in Deep Rock does where it fears enemies so that they avoid going in it I think it'd be really good. Add like a minor passive healing so that it can be used like an emergency recovery, and it'd be perfect imo

It's such a small touch but I really appreciate how the original viewer chats are put on screen for additional context. Isn't necessary at all, and I imagine it's time consuming to go back and find those messages but it adds a lot to the video imo
Roguelikes are definitely more fun the more random it is, I agree there. I do think there needs to be some consistency, otherwise you run into the issue of no-win situations, but good roguelikes require more skill than RNG to win.
RoR2 is def more skill than random too. You could win without items and just rush the teleporter. I know cuz I used to do that, lol.

Personal argument: any map where Pests naturally spawn automatically are graded half a grade lower given all other variables are the same.
I know it's a "Skill Issue," but I also just hate the Pest enemy.

I think instead of removing bands on aquaduct every stage 2 variant should have a unique guaranteed item. That way you don't feel like you lost out just because you didn't get a specific stage.
What would the other Stage 2 Items be, and how would you procure them?

Maybe green utility or healing items for the other stage 2s, since aqueduct gives you green damage items. Could be a key that can be randomly placed which would be used to unlock a unique chest on stage 5.
Idk something for the other stage 2s would be really nice.

bubble shield might be better if you get barrier standing inside and all allies inside get a crit/fire rate boost and maybe bump small enemies backwards if they try to walk inside

I had an idea listening to the bubble shield conversation of giving Engie and his turrets a small defensive buff while outside the shield and a offensive buff while in it. Idk if that would solve the main problems, but it could probably be tweaked to work
The demons souls elder lemuiran bit was incredible
One idea I had for engineers shield would be to make it similar to Newcastle’s in Apex Legends where it’s directional and you can move it around, that way it gives the player more agency. It could also now have any sort of interaction with items like its speed and defense
I think that getting a buff if it blocks attacks would be cool.
Maybe, like 20 armor every 3-5 hits for 10 seconds after it breaks for you and all allies?
Or, they could give it hp equal to like 10x your base hp(maybe have it scale with items?), but when it breaks, you get like 20+% barrier.

@@FishieUwU merf launches fireballs around the enemy on proc. Cherf is the one that strikes lightning vertically from above. It is also the only bluish boss item. I have almost 24 hours in this game, I know what I'm talking about.
If bubble shield blocked enemies from entering it, it would be good, then you could actuality have a defensable area. You could protect your turrets and give you a save space to charge the tp

In the beginning though, i'd like to point out that if you are looping, the card was always going to be better. The card would give too many extra items that would out value the churf. However, if you're going to the boss right after then the churf is most likely better. Now if it's just the molten perf, then the card is almost certainly better unless the shop items are dogwater.
Edit: I think bubble shield is misunderstood. Bubble shield pretty much is there to stop enemy ranged attacks. If your turrets (or teammates) can stun, slow, kill, tentabauble, or somehow prevent enemies from entering melee range, your turrets are effectively invincible for the duration. If in multiplayer for example, a beacon and bubble can save you from almost anything. The real issue is that you have to choose between harpoons and bubble. And engi really likes harpoons. I'd also like to point out that if enemies couldn't enter the bubble, cooldown reduction would be insanely broken on engi.
counterpoint, if you're looping you have infinite items anyway because you can just keep looping to get more, so card isn't that useful. Looping as a concept breaks down all of the balance of the game so I prefer not to talk about it in relation to such things
@@RacesVideos I usually loop if I'm playing captain and I don't get a hopoo feather cuz eff fighting mythrix with no feather, or if I'm fighting false son because you kinda have to if you don't get a gold shrine. But also I usually only loop once which the card does make a noticeable impact on your power level. If you're looping twice though it is pointless.
What really breaks looping is scavengers though. An additional 10 items every stage is insane
Assuming that you have the wungus or healing for vields, do you think it's ever worth it to do a full clear for the red and to make full looting it easier?

I think engi shield should be changed to a smaller size, monodirectional use with a shorter cooldown. Let it be used as a way to block attacks at will and react to certain enemies which gives players a way to avoid damage without relying on solely speed and safer spaces
thunderstore marked the cooler stages mod as deprecated but it was updated last a month ago. is that an error or is it not getting any more updates?
Nuxlar has said they don't plan to update it to the DLC patch, so the only way to use it currently is to downpatch your game. They did mention there was another mod in the works with a similar purpose though
I screwed up my mod list a little while ago.

I used to have the same patch as you and the fight played out identically to yours.
Because I accidentally changed the Umbral Mithrix version, the mod dev changed the fight somewhat and now its not nearly as fun as before.
Eargo they removed the invincible stage 4 endurance test.
2.2.1 for downpatched or the newly updated version both have p4 (have to enable p4 in config for newest though)

I think captain's heal beacon should be changed to an interactable like remote caffinator but with no cost and unlimited uses. As it is, there is literally no reason to take it over the other beacons.

In my opinion if Gearbox decided one day to patch out pot rolling I wouldn't care. Pot rolling is more often than not more frustrating to pull off than it is to just go to a different stage.
Everyone has their own views of it, but if you get good at it it’s very quick and easy for a free powerful upgrade to the run, which I mean, is the problem I have with it, it’s too easy to get a game winning build imo

My opinion on ror2 as a whole is that the survivors make the game replayable, the game has no where near enough items and item synergies to be replayable with one character where are a game like binding of Isaac has a lot more difference per run

Is it just me, or does the director spawn too much too fast in the new update? Maybe it’s a console thing, but when I get to stage 3, the enemy cap is reached and if I kill an enemy, another one spawns immediately. Elites also spawn more often than they used to, and if I kill an elite, another elite spawns immediately as well.

How about a small bubble shield that dealt damage on contact. 1.0 proc but really low damage to compensate like 50%
