    You did a great job of filming and making sure that you explain and show how it goes. Very clear and concise. Step by step in order. out and in. Good dialogue as well. Thanks.

    I did the same job on my 06 4wd and removed the bolts from the engine and saved a lot of time.
    Shops charge 1 hour per side there is no way they are doing all that work for free.

    Thanks for the video! We have an 05 Envoy XL 4X4 with 189,000 miles & I've noticed a vibration that comes and goes. It almost feels like a misfire, but the tachometer operates butter smooth so I'm sure it has to be the motor mounts. They are the factory units with almost 200,000 miles on them lol😅. I'm about to install new Bilstein 4600 struts on the front so I think I'll throw in new motor mounts while I have the strut assemblies out.

    Did mine without disassembling any front suspension. Just removed PCM and bracket it shares bolts with. No drilling of bracket either just unscrew bolts in plastic manifold.

    Good Job Sir, thank you. I have the same truck. I tried going thru the top to get drivers side mount out be could not do it. Did not have the proper swivel tool. Going to try as you did , thank you again. Yes yes buy the GM brand because aftermarket only last about six to nine months. Sir, this is several days later. I went through the top of engine to get drivers side mount out after I purchased the swivel tool to access the top bolt. Of course with I utilized some extensions and swivel tool. Much much easier.

    Came here to see how to remove motor mount bracket. I'm having to replace the front differential in a 2005, 6 cyl 4x4 Envoy right now. 😢.
    It's not wanting to come out thru the motor so far, looks like i need to remove that whole bracket to get the old one out and new one in.
    This is an unfair amount of beuleshizer right here!!

      @@aidanbaker8459 I got it done successfully. I KNOW FOR SURE how to get it out now. You DO go thru the top. You have to pull battery, battery box, alternator, A/C compressor, loosen both motor mounts at top nut almost all the way (for movement later). Remove the driver side motor mount AND bracket. (Thats a whole awesome experience right there. It was hard, but I'm glad I did. I learned so fkin much). The computer was already out also. I put a ratchet strap thru 1 bolt hole at top, wrapped it around the body of it and pulled with that.
      You do NOT have to remove any cross member under the frame AT ALL.
      Once you have the AC pump out, and the motor mount, you'll see how massive a hole you created, you could chunck a cat thru it! 🤣. Whole process took ME...
      6 weeks and 2 days 😔. Most of thst was struggling with which way to go, not being SURE WHT I'm doing will work... once I got it out, I had the replacement in and ALL THAT CRAP back on in 2 days. It was SO FAST to put back lol. Hard bolt at the bottom of th diff... can only move it like 1/16" of a turn with an open end wrench since I didn't have a swivel 😔.
      Advice: loosen that HARDEST TO REACH BOLT, FIRST.
      If you mess up like me and losent the easy ones first... you're binding up the hard one, making it SUPER HARD to turn.
      If you start with it, it won't be in a bind.

    Do you think it is possible to remove those 3 long bolts holding the bracket in without removing the strut tower?

    • @Swainsgarage11
      @Swainsgarage11  7 місяців тому

      No way have to remove it it’s the best way to do this job

    This sure is a lot of work taking the shock tower out but you got the mount out.

    • @Swainsgarage11
      @Swainsgarage11  8 місяців тому +1

      It’s the easiest way

      I had no problem with getting the passenger mount from the top but the driver's side is a lil' tricky getting out from the top but it can be done.

    This was the best video on the topic...the only one who actually did this the right way...the other way seems so much more difficult...yes this is more steps but well worth it once it's all said and done...
    My mounts are definitley bad on my 2008 trailblazer...i have 175k miles...i know theyre bad because when in drive it vibrates bad and when i put in neutral it goes away...im just hoping that it also helps smooth out the entire ride...i feel a little roughness while going highway speeds too...tires are fine...did you notice the car ran better after changing the mounts? How many miles were on it when you changed?

    • @Swainsgarage11

      Thank you! And yes ran lot better I have 2 envoys and one had 240000 and this one was done at 130000
