You do not need to raise the platform.. You also dont need to hammer him twice, if you set up your party since he starts with soiftened armor, you can frontload your partys damage quite heavily on turn one, just make sure the last person to hit him is standing in the middle. If you get him to half health or lower, he can die immediately the following turn. This prevents him from spawning the adds
I had my paladin/warlock and gale cast cloud of daggers in the spot where the adds spawn they only have 12 HP on balanced so it is a 1-2 hit kill so they never get to move if you kill grym within 10 turns you never have to worry about the adds
I gave my Level 6 Berserker Karlach a two-handed maul (it's weak to bludgeoning), Enraged her, and smashed it to bits over four turns right by the grate it pops out of. Also popped an Oil of Accuracy right before starting the fight.

Forget about all the weapons - they're not worth crafting and a waste of the Ore. IMO, the shield and medium armor are the best options for most parties. The heavy armor is alright, I suppose, but the medium armor is *almost* as good protection-wise, plus it'll allow +2 to AC from DEX and more folks in your party can potentially wear it. The shield has been a given on all my play-throughs so far because it stays useful probably the longest out of all the items - and lots of characters can use it, even folks like Gale or Wyll who shouldn't be running armor. The only time I'd recommend the heavy set instead is if you have someone in your party constantly who needs heavy armor (basically for fighter-Tavs or Lae'zel fan-bois). Then again: Having 14 DEX for those +2 to AC is good for *any* class and like that, the medium set will grant the same AC as the heavy one. So I guess the only *real* scenario where I would craft the heavy set is if I plan to not use it at all but to sell it on. It does have the highest value of all the Grymforge gear.
instead of misty stepping back and forth you can just misty step the first time to the mould platform and then shoot either lever with a bow to activate them from there. on a fighter you can almost kill him in 1 turn with action surge and extra attacks.
9:05 It is possible to jump from the levers' controls location to the 'library' ruins further leftside, closer to the place where the Splint Mould is located. I used the forge to craft heavy armour and shield for my paladin.
I made a shield and medium armour my first playthrough. It worked for my party composition, but I kind of regretted it later. The shield isn't a bad choice, It depends on your party composition, but but it became obsolete fairly quickly. One of each kind of armour is the "safer" option I think.

If he gains resistances again, simply command him to flee. Then repeat. I was confused. I dropped the hammer on him, did a ton of damage, but then he gained his “immune to bludgeoning” and was unaffected. All you have to do it get him into the lava again, it will give him the superheated debuff. That debuffs his resistances for 2 turns. Side note: the weapons are garbage and get outclassed quick. Build the armor, even if you don’t have an immediate use for it. That armor will last all the way through act 3
The weapons look a little disappointing to me for what they’re hyped up to be. I’ve already got better or equivalent gear minus the resistance negation, but as far as that goes, I’ve either not ran into many enemies with resistance, or I just haven’t noticed it. Even if I run into an enemy with resistances up the ass, there’s going to be another way of killing them.
It's possible that you encounter the bug that stuck the forge for you. See the end of the video, there is a specific order you have to do for the second piece.

Hmm. Don’t see why not. It gives you back the mold.
TIP FOR KILLING GRYM:
Using shadowheart, or anyone with the “command” spell, makes this fight easy as hell. Command him to approach shadowheart when she’s on the edge of the hammer.
That armor will last all the way through act 3
my game glitched visually, so I didn't know tha tlava only lasted like two-turns. Needless to say, I still finished the fight regardless.
I made the heavy armor should have made the other type also but I made a mace first.
FINALLY, SOME ANSWERS
fak I'm on my something playthrough and i missed this entire area... twice! htf?! lol
Do the ore veins respawn?
Sadly no.
It only allowed me one item. Would not allow me to insert the next piece of iron
It's possible that you encounter the bug that stuck the forge for you. See the end of the video, there is a specific order you have to do for the second piece.
Splint and shield
I think you might be right.
Where can u farm the mithril?
You can’t. The 2 Mithril deposits showed in the video are the only two known in the game.
@@nixzxin meh thanks for this info, it's too late for me then 😅
If you character has misty step or flight , or even a jump spell, you can skip the first 15 minutes of this lol
i just hit the guardian with a tripping attack and it died instantly.
Do i miss something important if i killed the both dwarves and the humanoid plants after completed their quest? I mean, saving the groove and killing the soverein spawn, and the Nere one (i completes them all but killed the both factions since i came to the conclusion both of them were evil)
Thanks btw. That part of the map is kinda cryptic.
where is the helmet mold?
Hemet is dropped from the boss. Just loot him and you will get it. No need to forge.
Boss can be killed easily in 2 rounds with 2 tanks without using the hammer
I played on easy so it’s not that hard of a fight 😅
Do it once for the experience, but the items are underwhelming.
Adamantite splint is the best heavy armor until act 3 ...
Wrong.
The armours are best in slot well into Act 3. The shield lasts a long time, too.
are the dwarfs need for the process ?, i kill almost all the dwarf near the forge 😂😂😂, and free all the goblin, , i hate how the dwarfs talk to me 😆😆
So I used the forge once. Fought the Guardian. Picked up my Forged Armor and now can't use the Forge again. Any ideas?
That’s a bug. Always save beforehand doing anything in this game.
Did you eject the mould?
thats what happen if you do things wrong, dont forget to let the lava flow first Then you active the lever to hammer it down
some peoples also said dont let the guardian died around the hammer thingy so just bait it away and dont forget always save before and after killing the boss just in case shit happens, tho in my playthrough, my armor was forged while i am fighting the boss
Don't know if I'd call it rare.
this tactic is not working for me...
🙏🙏🙏
You forgot to show how to use the forge.
did u watch the end
Not worth the time and effort uless you want to for the roleplay aspect.
so basically the elder scrolls and baldurs gate are the same game just one is 1st person life action the other is group turn based
