After Patch #6 released in February 2024, this was made much easier to do. Check out the video in description for the new method if you want to also see the Siege of Emerald Grove, save the Tieflings and recruit Minthara at the same time!
I love this method and wanted to try it for the first time but there's currently a bug that ruins your entire run if done. For some reason knocking out Minthara and letting her live for moonrise tower will cause the game to think you killed guards before and you will be given the 'enemy of justice' condition, causing both the moonrise guards and the Harpers to attack on sight. You don't get it anywhere else in Act 1, only when entering the shadow-cursed land. Just to clarify, I have killed strictly the goblins and those in the underdark grym forge (minus the slaved gnomes) but Minthara was the only one I didn't kill and this has caused the bug to happen. Hopefully the next hotfix will address this since this was an issue before last August.
@@AkiraHitoshi115Question: If I knock out Minthara and then kill the other two leaders, will the Moonrise Towers be hostile to me and attack me immediately?
@@MichaelPesch-dz9nm See thats what i did, the bug, however, makes it where both the harpers and the moonrise guards will attack you. LS knows about this bug so hopefully itll be patch soon.
I'm glad Larian saw people going to all the work of doing the Sheepthara Heist and said "you know what, if people want this character this much, we'll just give them a way to recruit her on the good path." It's a better response than closing loopholes in the game people were using to recruit/keep characters when the game was originally designed to arbitrarily force you to choose. Players liking characters and wanting them in their party is a good thing!
@@PaulRGauthier That is a very good point. A lot of people would never have heard her work, because they weren't willing to do what was necessary to previously recruit Minthara.
Probably important to mention as it probably still works like the sheepthara heist, DO NOT LONG REST, Knock minthara out, Then deal with gut and Dror WITH NO LONG REST. The quest should then complete to say you have dealt with the goblin threat to the grove etc etc, free Halsin and he will go back to the grove as you have "dealt" with all 3 leaders. Now confirm Minthy is still knocked out, get some distance from her but make sure you can still see her, NOW long rest. If she is up and walking about when you return from the rest you should be golden, DO NOT interact with her anymore at this point until moonrise.
Or, as I do it, kill Guts in her room (cast Silence so she can't call for help) go free the spiders, and watch them tear things up. Go to the Worg pen and free Halsin, leave him there. Poison the goblins at the front (after making sure you get everything you want from the vendor) kill the survivors. Kill the goblins in the front hall (close the door so nobody sees, and destroy the drums so they can't call for help), kill the goblins remaining in the hall (make sure the warlock has branded everyone you want to be branded). Go down the right side, killing the torturer and nicking his stuff. When the Camp is basically empty except for Minthara and Dror, go knock out Minthara and blow up Dror.
I must have long rested then. Because I specifically made sure I knocked out Minthara instead of killing her in my Honour playthrough to see if I could get Minthara at Moonrise. I also looted her. Not sure if that affects things. She wasn't there when I got to Moonrise.
@@xenosaga8436 Looting her shouldnt make a difference, many people have done that and she appears naked in Moonrise. Even with the patch 5 update the whole process is super finicky and easy to mess up her not getting to Moonrise.
@@TheHustler245 Must be the long rest thing then. I wasn't paying attention to that. She was definitely knocked out. I even went the extra mile and healed her to full life while she was knocked out.
@@xenosaga8436 I also heard that you cant make her permanent hostile first. I.e. you cant for example use the dialogue options "you are my prey" or w/e and then knock her out. You have to KO her while she is a "friend" or only flagged as temporarly hostile
@@nixzxin LMAO, I too always roll something around 2 to 5 when i try to lockpick or roll something that is like 15 or above. Not even bonuses will help with such rolls.
Is because they cut all of her content in the the upper city they falsely advertised as being in the game. She has no real story progressing because all of the events that trigger it don't exist.
Minthara whom I luv... "The character" whom I luv. Did try (or did) to slaughter refugees and slaughter some Druids cause her "god" told her too. So yeah not suprising the camp is not super socialble to her. I always thought she was too embrassed that her moment of biggest weakness. Was seen by all so she keeps out the way.
@@JohnSmith-rr3jt Her interactions are still there, it is just MOST of her story steps are locked behind the Dark Urge. She is loyal, and makes a GREAT Good aligned DA companion. She is straight with the DA and wants you in control, not some god of slaughter. You cannot be Evil DA and maintain true control.
The easiest route to get her out is to turn her invisible then go out the doors to the dock and to the left. You can jump over a small crack to get out of the Moonrise domain really quickly 😊
@@freman007 Do you know if she shows up in the torture chamber if you've already killed the torturers there before speaking with Thorm the first time?
@@xDaPrincexmore of a prison break by sneaking out tactic bro, especially when trying to save hostages. Think she starts at the players level so you can get her to lvl12 by the endgame
Quick tip: you can cast invisibility or throw a potion of invisibility next to her and it should last long enough to get out of Moonrise if you run straight for the bridge. Also works for the elf lady you have to save in act 3.
@@chiarapictures263 Wyll's friend. The one you save from the burning building in act 1. Chancellor something. You can find her in the same castle where Gortash has his ceremony. Just go down to the basement
It would be virtually impossible to survive growing up in Drow culture without getting some of your morality twisted. They literally worship a demon after all. Minthara at least has enough of an independent streak to be able to undo some of that conditioning over time especially with the influence of good people around her.
I feel like we're seeing a different person. I'm almost 100% certain her alignment is lawful evil. She completely hates anything to do with compassion or empathy. All of her speeches drift toward dominating and destroying. If the grove was asked to be in destroyed for Lolth, I don't see her hesitating for a second. Unless you're doing a DUrge path, I don't see what she really brings to the party.
Thank you and the people who figured out the Minthara Heist, and the devs so, so much! Thank goodness the devs saw how much people wanted to be able to recruit her on the good path, and gave a good feeling way to do it! (This also feels a LOT better than the old way I saw, where she was tricked and gaslit into turning against the Absolute after recruitment. >_
It also works without taking care od Dror and Guts before. I knocked out Minthara right after killing Guts and she still appeared in Moonrise. In an unconventional way, since I've unknowingly looted all her undergarments too, so the whole scene played out like some vile intro to a prono flick, but it worked at least. And I think Larian isn't even done here with how they're already hyping up some upcoming content and how Minthara + Halsin is possible, but completely ignored by NPCs. She also have some remnants and reactions in her dialogues as if you've had a "evil path" romance started with her. So yeah, I'm pretty sure Larian is cooking something spicy.
i came looking for a comment about whether it was okay that i looted her as i get ready to approach moonrise. thank you for commenting, i’m excited to have her in my party 💕
Instead of leaving the front gates at 9:29 once you have Minthara following you, go straight past the two guards by the door out into the docks. Take a left far enough and she will talk to you and go to your camp.
Oh man! It would have been a nice feature if either you could travel back to her corpse and resurrect her OR have your undead friend at camp be able to resurrect her later on. There was no indication that you could recruit her or WHY you even want to recruit an evil goblin leader in the first place. I didn't think twice about killing her. Her outfit looks great on your other party members!
Yeah, especially when he says he can bring back his absolute members to fight for you. I thought he meant her, but it's only the hirelings. Maybe someone made a mod to fix this idk.
yea it's kinda annoying how they keep all these options so hidden. Like unless you already know about it, you're unlikely to ever find out. I really feel kinda sad for whoever has THAT much time to be the first to figure all the little tricks out. You'd have to dedicate your life to it, which is pretty pathetic imo lol.
A easier way I found, is that I used a scroll of Invisibility on Minthara, as the eyes are on a patrol, and used turn based to lead her and my party outside, wasn't even stopped!
Just be happy you can recruit her without having to slaughter the tieflngs. Larian would have perfectly justified keeping her locked behind an evil playthrough, but they decided to honour the fans and give us another way of recruiting her. @@khanhnguyen-tt3ff
I saw her in the ruined temple and “examined” her, saw shewasa Lloth-sworn Drow and decided to kill her immediately😂 When I looted her corpse and saw she had alchemy bags n stuff I realized she was a playable character! Still, I was playing a Seldarine Drow, so it was just roleplaying.
Tried to recruit her with a new playthrough after the last patch, but I didn't know about avoiding the permanently hostile condition and all that. And getting to act 2 after hours of other act 1 things, its frustrating to have to basically start over. But I'm glad that Larian has made this possible.
I did hear that eventually that an update with Minthara and Halsin interacting where the player will have to pick which character they wish to stay in their camp while the other leaves
Oh, that sounds awful. It would've been interesting if Minthara and Halsin had some sort of talking point about the Absolute and the issues it brought to two of them.
Nope. Had Halsin in the party when we rescued Minthara from Moonrise. No disapproval when rescuing or recruiting. He didn't like sparing the goblins in the throne room, but Karlach did, so no regrets.
😂 I’m in act 3 of my first play through and missed all of this. I walked in to the Goblin sanctum, and was like, “Well, time to start murdering everyone.” Vaguely remember killing Minthara, but didn’t even realize she had dialogue.
Thank you so much, you were spot on and I was doubting she'd be there and she was there! I even accidently looted her while knocked out, so I thought she was toast. but yay! ty~!
I poke and tease at people who requested a way to get Minthara on the "good" path but honestly it just felt like an oversight that she'd magically just be dead if you KO'd her before the patch. Good work Larian, yet again.
I’m happy I can save Minthara Not just because she’s cute and has a strangely lovable personality, but because deep down she was just lost and scared. I feel for her.
Can confirm this works. She absolutely must be temporarily hostile. Then knock her out. Must do Ragzlin after Minthara and without long resting in between. In my play through I did Gut, knocked out Minthara without talking to her, then Ragzlin, then freed Halsin. Didn’t long rest until Tiefling party. Minthara was present at moonrise.
@@nixzxin They should add a good boost of positive relation with her for freeing her, and a later romance scene for her. Currently you only get that spicy scene if you murder the grove.
One thing to point out that you did not make clear is Minthara was Temporarily Hostile at the time she was KO she will not appear at moon rise if you attack her directly in your video you attacked Indirectly thus causing the Temporarily Hostile status
I did this and it didn’t work. Probably a bug but still. Got her temporarily aggro with an attack. Knocked her out. And then after the tiefling party I checked and she was still alive and no longer aggroed. But when I went to moonrise she wouldn’t show up no matter what I did. I even tried knocking her out again and long resting. Same issue, she still doesn’t show up at moonrise. So I ended up having to do the old SheepThara heist. It still works. Only problem is it breaks her AI. Her common actions (jump, dash, throw, etc) don’t show up on her action bar. And she also doesn’t enter combat normally. But aside from that it still works.
Another note for anyone that's curious. If you knock out Minthara but still need to return to the goblin camp/temple location during Act I after a long rest, Minthara will still be flagged as neutral. This means that you should knock her out again; just be sure she's *temporarily hostile* before doing so - just pickpocket her or steal something in front of her to flag her as temporarily hostile. Also, make sure you finish your business in the goblin base before a long rest to avoid this. Although I knocked her out twice, she did show up in Act II nonetheless.
You can do everything but agro Dror Ragzlin and Priestes Gut first. It's still just better to go straight for her before doing anything else and never resting till the quest is finished.
@Quarter324 If i killed goblin leader Rozzak while fighting Minthara and then knocked her out, did that trigger permanent hostile? She was temporarily hostile, but i missed that if she turned permanent or not, after i killed Rozzak first.
Hopefully they patch what is obviously a bug. The ONLY way to recruit her in a good play through (not mentioned here specifically) is to make her TEMPORARILY hostile. Making her hostile by attacking the other leaders first and then knocking her out will result in failure and you won't be able to recruit her.
The easiest way to get her out of moonrise is to cast invisibility on her, you should also mention attacking menthara before talking to her. If you talk to her and then attack her it won't work
If you knock her out in goblin camp and take a long rest before leaving goblin camp/concluding the Leaders quest: she might be up again and you will need to knock her out again.
@@soniaromanova yeah I had to knock her out again. Then finish by talking to Halsin at the gate. Funny thing, the second time i knocked her out i lost reputation with her. She was too mad to all to me once she landed in my camp in act 2 (after we did the quest to recruit her)
if it wouldn't be double the line recordings, they should of had the options of some (not all) characters being able to be influenced to be shift alignments, to at least neutral, so you can try to romance Minthara as a good character, or at least get her on a better path, once she finds out that the Absolute was false and using her, and that Lolth isn't so great either, more like Lae'zel, but much more brainwashed
She doesnt even follow lolth anymore she renounced her for the absolute and after being rescued shr tells your tav she doesnt listen to the whispers of lolth anymore and something like shes happy shes free now even if it means being exiled from her home city
ok, so, TLDR: Don't speak to minthara at goblin camp, knock her out nonlethally, take out Ragzlin and Gut, free Halsin, progress to Act 2 without returning to interact with Minthara, save her in Act 2 as you would normally. its possible that long resting between knocking out minthara and finishing the goblin leaders quest could prevent this from working.
Thanks for the video, was already planning a second playtrough and will definitely try to get both her and Halsin ^^ Also, nice touch that you used "Flow" (or one of its many variants) for the outro /gcsalute
Do be aware, if you speak with minthara at all in the goblin camp, it won't matter if you knock her out - she won't be at Moonrise. EDIT: I imagine some people won't go looking through reply threads, so I'll edit this comment with the updated information; It's not about speaking with Minthara, it's about turning her permanently hostile. If you knock her out while she's Temporarily Hostile, she'll appear at Moonrise. I haven't seen it yet for myself, so until I do, I'll trust what the replies are telling me thus far.
I'm glad they fixed this because it never made sense to me that you couldn't recruit her without slaughtering the Druid grove, this fix was exactly what was needed. Now I can finally recruit her and see her story.
Thats not helpful if u have her in your party the guards will ask again when they see her with you if u enter the tower again you need to persuade everyone that you have the authority over her
gosh! thank you! i wanted to figure out how to get her without killing everyone! (i haven't done an evil run yet) so this helps a lot! i'll have to try this!
@@amukhb8608 I don't have any evidence for this, but I'm guessing you can still start the romance in act 2. But she won't give you the gawk gawk 3000 because that's tied to the act 1 camp cutscene.
Wow I did not know you could recruit her, I just threw her off the edge in my playthrough lmao. Also Halsin died while trying to free him and people kept mentioning his name, I was so confused
I wish I would have seen this video a few days earlier. I was really sad about slaughtering everyone in the hain and well, had an unwelcoming end with Halsin 😣. But I really wanted to try the evil way and get Mintahra 😁
WARNING! Do not knock out Sazza when she is by Minthara during her quest. If she is there, you have to kill her, otherwise, her quest won't close and Minthara will be broken and not interactable in Moonrise. Sazza also doesn't respawn like other temporarily knocked enemies so she can't be killed later to prevent this.
gonna try this on my second playthrough, in the first i'm just doing stuff like i dont know anything :D (only watched the first 30sec of the vid, but will come back to it)
So ive gotten to the goblin camp twice now. First time I attacked the other Leader which made her hostile. The second time I convinced some spiders to eat some goblins, which started a fight straight away xD I was kinda bummed. One day i'll talk to her.
It looks like they went straight up to Minthara (bypassing the other enemies) and knocked her out without talking to her. I think you have to follow the steps in this video pretty closely if you want to recruit her on a non-evil run.
I really wish that Minthara was in the list of origin characters or something to let you know that she is a recruitable companion, because i went into the game completely blind, and had no idea you could recruit her until I reached act II and had long since killed her. I’m super salty about it because I wanted to get every party member possible, and she seems really cool.
The important thing here is to make Minthara temporarily hostile before knocking her down. Do not start the combat through a dialog and make sure that she is 'knocked out (temporary)'. Otherwise, she will be dead in Act 2 and you will lose ~20 hours of your time to replay this %)
You can leave this to basically the last thing you do in Act 1. Once you stop the Rite of Thorns the Tieflings and Goblins are frozen in place until you go to Minthara and start things going again. So stop the Rite, and then do everything in Act 1, even killing the Camp except for Minthara and Dror, and then come back to them. Then it's just a matter of entering the Shadow-Cursed Lands via the Creche entrance, rushing down to kill the Convoy and Kar'niss, releasing Dolly to get her blessing, and trotting down to Moonrise Towers. As far as I can tell there's no time limit once she's in prison, I think there's even a choice to have her stay there while you clear the way, so kill the prison guards, I think you can rescue the Tieflings and get their boat, in which case you might be able to get Minthara on the boat as well.
See now this is why Larain is the best. They see the player base doing something completely unintended by them and rather than patching it as soon as possible they decide to make it into a possible option for the player base to actually do and make it easier to get said goal. They want to see people explore and reward us for doing it.
Apparently, I knocked her out in my first run by accident, when the game came out and there were no hotfixes because I remember seeing her at the tower after I thought I killed her (or maybe I didn't know she was there because I didn't get Halsin either, lol!). I barely remember my first run.
Question here: When you bring out Minthara this way, are you able to re-enter Moonrise peacefully and for example get the assignment to find Balthasar? This is rather important, since it pushes the storyline rather far and lets you get some additional aids on the way!
Yes, no problem, they didn't know I saved her. However, I needed to keep that as a secret and couldn't re-enter the Moonrise Towers with Minthara in the party if I didn't want the guards to attack.
I am so happy they did this. It literally made no sense in any way, shape or form that you could not recruit her if you only knocked her out or that there wasn’t an option to capture her or some thing else is part of the quest line, forcing you and pin hole-ing you into a situation of either annihilating, the teaflings for killing a potential companion, with literally no work around between that, weren’t reliant on glitches basically or exploits was a Single dumbest narrative choice, and most forced narrative choice in this entire game that I have ever experienced and what’s more wild to me is when I brought this up on the sub Reddit I got down voted into oblivion by morons who for some reason think it’s good to restrict players Imagination, creativity, and ability artificially for no good reason, locking her behind the annihilation of the Teaflings even though there were several Ways players figured out where you could’ve recruited her both mechanically and narratively without having to annihilate them, it took them a little while to finally cave, but I’m glad they finally got there better late than never as they say. I’m glad Larian saw reason, and didn’t listen to the moronic mob, for some reason had a hard on for forced locking her behind that evil only play through, even though it made literally no sense
Your voice is very loud compared to that of the gameplay in the video, apart from that, superb! Structured, good explanations which are easy to follow. WP
Final Solution to Minthara Question / How to KO to Moonrise *Will be updated as more attempts are finished. Premise: Find out under what conditions do you need to KO Minthara for her to appear at Moonrise throne room. Things I think are irrelevant for result to be the same: Probably entire set up, only thing that might have an effect on result is Grimforge area, which is untouched in these attempts. Guts death probably doesn't matter where is placed. If you regular long rest after you finish the "kill goblin leaders" quest, or your first long rest is the Tiefling party. If you save Halsin after you finish the "kill goblin leaders" quest. (I didn't just to save time) Getting into Moonrise tower via Drider or Harper route. (Drieder is just faster, that's why I choose it over Harpers) If there are any questions about set up, or you have an idea on another different attempt, write a comment. Also NO, I am not making another new game just to test different set ups. If you have different results to mine with same set up, I have no idea why. Bug maybe, or perhaps some other event not triggered yet in my playthrough (Grimforge for example), write comment about it, so others know.
Nice testing plan. In my own attempt, I did go through the entire Grimforge. I forged the 2 Adamantine items, saved and then killed Nere and gave his head back to Sovereign Spaw.
*APPARENTLY UA-cam DOESN'T LIKE ME UPDATING THE COMMENT SO UPDATE:* Different attempts and results: No talk, Temporary hostility via stealing, Minthara first, Gut second, Dror Ragzlin third, first long rest inside the goblin camp, second Tiefling party, third directly before entering Mountain pass, fourth directly before entering Moonrise. Result: PRESENT (Minthara awake confirmed after first rest, no crashes) Talk into attack, Minthara first, Gut second, Dror Ragzlin third, first long rest is the party with tieflings Result: NOT PRESENT No talk just attack, Minthara first, Gut second, Dror Ragzlin third, first long rest is the party with tieflings Result: PRESENT (effectively same as "No talk, Temporary hostility via stealing" method, because, by attacking her she gets temporary hostile debuff) No talk, Gut first, Dror Ragzlin second (Goblin camp hostile now), Minthara third, first long rest is the party with tieflings Result: NOT PRESENT Battle for the grove scenario, first long rest is the party with tieflings Result: NOT PRESENT No talk, Temporary hostility via stealing, Minthara first, Long Rest, Gut second, Dror Ragzlin third Result: BUGGED OUT, quest is at stage "all leaders are dead, talk to Zevlor", but event for tiefling party is not triggered and Zevlor ignores you, so quest can't be completed. No talk just attack, Gut first, long rest, Minthara second, Dror Ragzlin third, long rest, turn in quest + party with tieflings Result: PRESENT Lasting questions: Grimforges effect on these attempts - According to Nixzxin finishing Grimforge with Nere saved and killed afterwards has no effect on attempts. FINAL CONCLUSION: Based on experiments and informations gathered to get Minthara at Moonrise throne room, you need to make her temporarily hostile (method irrelevant) and KO her afterwards. Also Dror Ragzlin must be last leader to be taken out and he together with Minthara must be taken out in the same day, you can though take out Gut, long rest, than KO Minthara and kill Dror Ragzlin. If there are any questions, read through the comment, there might be answer already, if you don't find it, ask away.Apparently UA-cam doesn't like me updating the comment so update:
@lesserdad i don't believe she matters for this at all. Neither Nere in Grimforge nor Halsin in Goblin camp prison matter, so I don't see why Sazza should.
Don't forget the most important thing: if you talk to Minthara, the character is considered dead. When the character faints If you loot and find an illithid jar, Minthara is definitely considered dead.As in the video,Need to trigger war without talking to her
Thank you ! I am still beginning the game and as a fellow drow couldn’t just kill her like that. I spent 30 minutes since I’m under leveled trying to knock her out only for her to be dead at the end(does the non lethal mode works with arrows ? 😅 if not then Astarion cost me my drow waifu 😢)
So i told her where the druids were but then didn't help her, then I killed just the other two goblin leaders. All in all she showed up at moonrise, I rescued her, her tent is there, but she isn't at my camp
1st playthrough as a Seldarine Drow Oath of Ancients Paladin, killed her so quick in that section. Definitely worth a try to save her in a future playthroughs though.
You forgot the most important part of the goblin camp: summoning the ogres immediately after leaving the dungeon with Halsin so they can’t get to minthara, and instead wander over to the throne room, aggroing all the other goblins
Nice video, thank you. Just a question - wouldn't it be smart to go talk to Zrell and get that quest from her before saving Minthara? Otherwise I'm assuming you take her up to Zrell and get that quest and you get attacked on site.
There's no issue with her going anywhere in Moonrise, after her initial recruitment, as long as you're with her. Minthara even has approval bumps for some deception options in your dialogue with Z'rell.
This game is so amazing I am so happy I voted for this game instead of Spider-Man for Game of the Year. I have three playthroughs running at the same time and I have over 140 hours so far. And for Spider-Man I beat it in under 24 hours and did all the collectibles
Anyone else having problem where you successfully save her from Moonrise and she’s waiting for you back at camp, but after initial line of dialogue she won’t talk to you anymore and therefore you can’t add her to your party? Can’t figure it out.
Yes, this has been a problem since patch 3 on ps5 and they still didnt fix it. It’s so annoying. I’ve tried 3 playthrough from scratch to try and get her and its always the same problem
Yes this is happening to me too and I have no idea how to fix it. I was all excited to finally be able to recruit her and this really took the wind out of my sails
I tested multiple scenarios and leaving Sazza knocked out by Minthara was the only case when Minthara was broken in Moonrise.
Yea, you can do them in the rest of the game. Not sure if her scene at the end of ACT1 meant to happen if you opt in for killing the rest of goblins though.
I would like to know this too. I've seen other guides say you should not have the quest to save halsin or the quest to say you need to kill goblin leaders. I'm so lost. T^T
@@artcarranza93 I’ve seen other guides say all this other stuff too but from firsthand experience I did this before and all the other stuff they say is not necessary. All that matters is you do not kill Minthara but do a non lethal KO. This is by far the best guide with others making it unnecessarily complicated. I made a beeline to her just like in the video and it worked I also did another playthrough freed Halsin and she still was in moonrise. All that matters is that the game doesn’t label her with the dead tag even though the quest journal will say she is “dead”
Thank you for such an informative video. I was a little alarmed by the incorrect subtitles in the intro though (Around 0:27). You might want to see if you can fix that so people don't think the worst from the mouseover.
THANK GOD THEY FINALLY ADDED THIS! Was scrambling to find it cus my BG3 is opened. I know my PC can't handle having both opened at the same time, it might just POP like a balloon 😂😂
After Patch #6 released in February 2024, this was made much easier to do. Check out the video in description for the new method if you want to also see the Siege of Emerald Grove, save the Tieflings and recruit Minthara at the same time!
can i still use this method in patch 6?
yes, it still works as the OG method. Patch 6 just gave us more options@@herol-ib5bi
Yes.
And... Minthara's writer and voice actor deserves greater exposure. Their work was brilliant and they should have the widest audience possible.
@@PaulRGauthier

She was brained washed by the Absolute and when she joins the party she is protected by the artifact
It would be virtually impossible to survive growing up in Drow culture without getting some of your morality twisted. They literally worship a demon after all.

No new content coming for BG3
Instead of leaving the front gates at 9:29 once you have Minthara following you, go straight past the two guards by the door out into the docks. Take a left far enough and she will talk to you and go to your camp.

Oh man! It would have been a nice feature if either you could travel back to her corpse and resurrect her OR have your undead friend at camp be able to resurrect her later on. Minthara was present at moonrise.
i'm glad they made it a lot simpler to recruit minthara, genuinely the best companion for me!!
I’m convinced Larian will add in more questline for her in future patches.
@@nixzxin aaaa i would love that so much 🥹

Nice! This change was highly smart of Larian Studios.
I thought I was the only one who rolled that poorly. I didn't even know you could recruit her. Thank you for the video.
One thing to point out that you did not make clear is Minthara was Temporarily Hostile at the time she was KO she will not appear at moon rise if you attack her directly
in your video you attacked Indirectly thus causing the Temporarily Hostile status
You can sneak out of the dungeon by taking the door across from her cell. Once out just a quick jump across a broken bridge and you're out.
Imagine being knocked out by the same guy 3 times
Thank you! I was wondering why quest didn’t end when I killed everyone 🥲
@@soniaromanova yeah I had to knock her out again. Then finish by talking to Halsin at the gate.

if it wouldn't be double the line recordings, they should of had the options of some (not all) characters being able to be influenced to be shift alignments, to at least neutral, so you can try to romance Minthara as a good character, or at least get her on a better path, once she finds out that the Absolute was false and using her, and that Lolth isn't so great either, more like Lae'zel, but much more brainwashed

@@nixzxin and we should be able to make her OUR loyal soldier. grumpy all the time, kinda doing good, but bitching about Drow is something people need
ok, so, TLDR: Don't speak to minthara at goblin camp, knock her out nonlethally, take out Ragzlin and Gut, free Halsin, progress to Act 2 without returning to interact with Minthara, save her in Act 2 as you would normally. its possible that long resting between knocking out minthara and finishing the goblin leaders quest could prevent this from working.

Same, something for DLC I hope
This was definitely cool! Good job!❤
Really stupid such a small thing can change so much, i wastes that 20h because i started fight from dialogue
See now this is why Larain is the best. They see the player base doing something completely unintended by them and rather than patching it as soon as possible they decide to make it into a possible option for the player base to actually do and make it easier to get said goal. They want to see people explore and reward us for doing it.
Nice, now i can go for the drussy on a good playthrough

KO Minthara in various ways > finish "kill goblin leaders" quest > leave Halsin (he will make it on himself) > turn the quest in and have a party with Tieflings > go over Mountain pass into Moonrise > follow Drider (spiderman) to Moonrise Tower and protect him against Harpers > find out if Minthara is present at Moonrise (end of the test)
Different attempts and results:
No talk, Temporary hostility via stealing, Minthara first, Gut second, Dror Ragzlin third, first long rest is the party with tieflings
Result: PRESENT
Talk into fight, Minthara first, Gut second, Dror Ragzlin third, first long rest is the party with tieflings
Result: UNKNOWN YET
No talk just attack, Minthara first, Gut second, Dror Ragzlin third, first long rest is the party with tieflings
Result: UNKNOWN YET
No talk, Gut first, Dror Ragzlin second (Goblin camp hostile now), Minthara third, first long rest is the party with tieflings
Result: UNKNOWN YET
Battle for the grove scenario, first long rest is the party with tieflings
Result: UNKNOWN YET
Lasting questions:
Grimforges effect on these attempts.
Things I think are irrelevant for result to be the same:
Probably entire set up, only thing that might have an effect on result is Grimforge area, which is untouched in these attempts.
Guts death probably doesn't matter where is placed.
If you regular long rest after you finish the "kill goblin leaders" quest, or your first long rest is the Tiefling party.
If you save Halsin after you finish the "kill goblin leaders" quest. (I didn't just to save time)
Getting into Moonrise tower via Drider or Harper route. (Drieder is just faster, that's why I choose it over Harpers)
If there are any questions about set up, or you have an idea on another different attempt, write a comment.
@@nixzxin And still got Minthara in Moonrise. That is good to know, thank you.
*APPARENTLY UA-cam DOESN'T LIKE ME UPDATING THE COMMENT SO UPDATE:*
Different attempts and results:
No talk, Temporary hostility via stealing, Minthara first, Gut second, Dror Ragzlin third, first long rest inside the goblin camp, second Tiefling party, third directly before entering Mountain pass, fourth directly before entering Moonrise.
Result: PRESENT (Minthara awake confirmed after first rest, no crashes)
Talk into attack, Minthara first, Gut second, Dror Ragzlin third, first long rest is the party with tieflings
Result: NOT PRESENT
No talk just attack, Minthara first, Gut second, Dror Ragzlin third, first long rest is the party with tieflings
Result: PRESENT (effectively same as "No talk, Temporary hostility via stealing" method, because, by attacking her she gets temporary hostile debuff)
No talk, Gut first, Dror Ragzlin second (Goblin camp hostile now), Minthara third, first long rest is the party with tieflings
Result: NOT PRESENT
Battle for the grove scenario, first long rest is the party with tieflings
Result: NOT PRESENT
No talk, Temporary hostility via stealing, Minthara first, Long Rest, Gut second, Dror Ragzlin third
Result: BUGGED OUT, quest is at stage "all leaders are dead, talk to Zevlor", but event for tiefling party is not triggered and Zevlor ignores you, so quest can't be completed.
No talk just attack, Gut first, long rest, Minthara second, Dror Ragzlin third, long rest, turn in quest + party with tieflings
Result: PRESENT
Lasting questions:
Grimforges effect on these attempts - According to Nixzxin finishing Grimforge with Nere saved and killed afterwards has no effect on attempts.
FINAL CONCLUSION:
Based on experiments and informations gathered to get Minthara at Moonrise throne room, you need to make her temporarily hostile (method irrelevant) and KO her afterwards.
Does sazza have to be imprisoned in the grove?
@lesserdad i don't believe she matters for this at all. Neither Nere in Grimforge nor Halsin in Goblin camp prison matter, so I don't see why Sazza should.
One of the most interesting companions, and doesn't have her own quest, even a short one.
They cut her Content in the Lower City sadly.
@@togucvinw7 Only melee attacks work as non lethal, arrows and magic attacks will kill them. Found out about it myself while doing Auntie Ethel quest
So i told her where the druids were but then didn't help her, then I killed just the other two goblin leaders. All in all she showed up at moonrise, I rescued her, her tent is there, but she isn't at my camp
Does this lock you out of her romance, since you won't have the goblin party scene after the Grove raid?
This is the answer I'm looking for as well!
1st playthrough as a Seldarine Drow Oath of Ancients Paladin, killed her so quick in that section. Definitely worth a try to save her in a future playthroughs though.
So a question. No companion will leave your party if you do this? Subed
No, they will all stay with you. Thx for the sub!
Thank you, I was wondering how to do this without attacking the grove.
I love how eliminating the goblin camp somehow doesn’t count as mass murder😂
It ain't mass murder if they're murders, slavers, and torturers.
Sometimes to make a rotten egg omelet you have to crack a few rotten eggs.
You forgot the most important part of the goblin camp: summoning the ogres immediately after leaving the dungeon with Halsin so they can’t get to minthara, and instead wander over to the throne room, aggroing all the other goblins
When saving her from moonrise would it not be easier to just cast invisibility on her and get her past the guards that way
Based Old Sharlayan music at the end xD
Nice video, thank you. Just a question - wouldn't it be smart to go talk to Zrell and get that quest from her before saving Minthara? Otherwise I'm assuming you take her up to Zrell and get that quest and you get attacked on site.
Yea, I avoided being her along when I meet up Zrell upstairs. But I feel it would be ok.
The same happened to me now. Was trying to fix it for hours, nothing worked.
I tested multiple scenarios and leaving Sazza knocked out by Minthara was the only case when Minthara was broken in Moonrise.
@@milanhvozdik3379 thank you, this is what I did so I most likely have my fix now
I'm going to attempt this my next playthrough.
Minthara is Very chill, even she whould not agree with the mass murder
Yes, she most certainly would.
If it served a purpose, she would kill every man, woman, and child.
Save often there's a glitch that starts somewhere in this process at the goblin camp where you end up with a status effect for attacking guards.
I know you miss the intimate scene at the end of act 1, but can you pursue her relationship later through act 2 and 3?
Yea, you can do them in the rest of the game. Not sure if her scene at the end of ACT1 meant to happen if you opt in for killing the rest of goblins though.
@@nixzxin Thanks!
@@arturdobosz1999You don’t get the “spicy” romance scene… you only get a “kiss”
Nice, does Minthara has a redemption path? Like Shadowheart and Astarion?
sub'd - thank you for presenting without shouting.
Can you knock out temporarily hostile Minthara, then free Halsin, then kill the other 2 leaders? I just like using Halsin in the other fights.
I would like to know this too. I've seen other guides say you should not have the quest to save halsin or the quest to say you need to kill goblin leaders. I'm so lost. T^T
@@artcarranza93 Really? Where did you find these guides?
Yea, that’s was completely unintentional. Must have been my accent…
THANK GOD THEY FINALLY ADDED THIS! I DONT HAVE TO DO SHEEPTHARA ANYMORE, CARRYING HER EVERYWHERE UNTIL I REACH MOONRISE TOWER, BREAKING MY IMMERSION OF THE GAME 😭
Also NGL I kinda panicked and I thought I accidentally opened FFXIV and left it in the BG when Sharlayan music started playing. Was scrambling to find it cus my BG3 is opened. I know my PC can't handle having both opened at the same time, it might just POP like a balloon 😂😂
This is for all warriors of light.
the she says GOBLIN TRASH always makes me cackle, I love Minthara so much
