    The Glycine supplement I take recommends 1/3 tsp, which seems to be very little, however, now that I know most people produce and consume enough, the question is, can a person supplement too much glycine?

    I think we have a choice between supplementing with glycine and with collagen.
    We don't eat enough of collagen nowadays. So we are sure to get not enough glycine from food.
    Especially when older, both the bodys collagen production and the glutathion production diminishes.
    The way to fix this is with GlyNAC supplementation (for glutathion), and some extra glycine (for collagen production).
    Vegitarians, which avoids animal products such as collagen, has to supplement with glycine instead. Glycine is every third molecule in collagen. So we need much of it.
    Omnivores should supplement with GlyNAC (equal amounts of glycine and NAC). And get all the amino acids needed for building collagen, including glycine, from hydrolyzed collagen.
    Perhaps 3 g of NAC and 3 g of glycine for GlyNAC.
    And 12 g of hydrolized collagen.
    Research on GlyNAC has utilized more than that. Usually 100 mg/ kg bodyweight. But that much might not be needed. We really don't know the optimal dose.

      So if I weigh 55 kg I need 5500mg? That seems like a huge amount and is way over the 600-1800 recommended

      I just drink 1/8 teaspoon glycine with 1/8 teaspoon NAC in 4 oz of water before a meal & I notice a big difference in my energy, joints, sleep etc..

      .5 grams is 1/8 tspn.
      I started at low dosage to see its effects.
      So far so good.
      After 1 month I am now at 1/2 tspn daily which is 2 grams & if I still have no adverse effects I will increase to recommended dosage of 3/4 teaspoon daily which is 3 grams.
