In this video, I talk a little bit about my life updates, as well as how we can all be true to ourselves, love ourselves, and give ourselves some grace in this new year. Hi, Cody. NEVER be ashamed or embarrassed of being on medication and seeking help. I have been on meds for years. I'm now in intense grief counseling, as my husband died suddenly and unexpectedly a couple of months ago. Taking meds for mental health is NO different than taking an aspirin for a headache or insulin for diabetes. I am INCREDIBLY PROUD of you. I am so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine. I have been married to a wonderful man for 47 years. It would take the grace of God to pull me out of such a loss. Prayers.
I too am an addict. Recovered from opiate addiction, but still fall into the addictive behaviors even fifteen years later! We all love, respect, and admire you for your courage and the light that you exude. These videos are the best videos, in my opinion. Those of us who are addicts tend to be super hard on ourselves, and you nailed it- it's an addiction. Love you, Cody. You inspire me all the time, and have for years. Addiction has such a hold. I have someone that I love very much, and young that is in ICU as I am writing this. It literally was by the grace of God that he made it there just in time. Looks like he'll have many health issues to battle now. But the hardest battle is the fight with the mind after he gets well. It is brave of you Leah to share. You are not alone, and you can overcome.

I still work a program where I see a counselor and am tested for illicits - 15 years later, and I do use medical marijuanna, and those actions combined with the will to live freely is what keeps me motivated to want better. Great job on this video. Thanks for putting this out there. I remember one of the first videos I saw of you was one of you talkling about some of your history. You're right...we all have our issues that we work through and hopefully can share with others. I had to be open and vulnerable when I got esophageal cancer. (we nurses don't like to ask for help, etc. LOL) Still working on lowering my walls but being more OK with myself is such an f***g relief! You are so cool!! Hugs and love from Minnesota.

I'm a food addict, it consumes me. Some of my relatives are too - alcohol, drugs. It's exhausting. This bloke called Wim Hoff does this breathing technique which seems to cause a ginormous release for everyone. I want to do it, i'm too scared! Maybe you could investigate that, he does workshops and so on. He's on you tube and there is a little doc on here, and the bbc did a celeb series with him and the therapy helped every one of them. Freeze the fear with hoff, it was called. I think it'd be an interesting experiment!

So many influencers are not open and honest and it causes people to think their lives are perfect. I have lived long enough to look past that and to know this is not true in anyone's life. Cody, over the years you and I have become dear friends. We all have a past, whether things are done to us or we did them, that we have to own and deal with and then move on so we can have a wonderful future.
