I agree.." Shrimpin' ain't easy unless you have good help"....If either of those lovely young ladies has a spare sister shrimpin' could get easier for me..At the risk of sounding greedy it wouldn't hurt if the 'spare' sister could back up a boat trailer and rustle up a decent shrimp scampi once in awhile. Oh, it also wouldn't hurt if she didn't talk too much but it's not a deal breaker..
Great video btw...
LOL! Thanks, man. Shrimpin' definitely ain't easy, and finding a woman like you're looking for is even harder. We got lucky with hard-working women. How big is your boat.😂 A big boat might help you find one, 😂 as long as you don't tell them about all the bills and maintenance it requires. I love having a good laugh. Thanks.
@@SaltyReflections I don't have a shrimp boat and I'm not a shrimper...I have a small flats boat and toss a few crab traps over the side once in awhile..Truth be told I don't even eat shrimp but I'm not above lying when the need arises..I enjoyed your video and will watch a few more as time permits..Good luck out there and stay safe..
Stephanie you keep up the yacking about the catch, I like learning what all of different species are. Both of you keep up good work and videos. Glad y’all head some help.
Yehbudi! I will keep on yacking 💯😂 No doubt! Thanks for hanging out on the boat with us!
Love Stephanie knowledge of the wildlife
Thank you for coming along & listening to my yapping! 🤓🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣😁
@@SaltyReflections Not yapping knowledge
Nooo, don't rob us of the by catch video. 😢 Shrimpin' ain't easy, but by catch is entertaining. AND, Miss Stephanie loves to educate us. 😅 ❤
🤪 The video is great, just the way we videod it.
Oliver the Boat Captain, head mechanic Jack of all trades and Steph the Biologist. Love the videos.🦐🇺🇸
Thank you. We try our best at everything we do.
Good morning Stephanie,Oliver,Rob and Kendra have a great day
🖐
Nice to see all the dolphins!
We love seeing the dolphin up close to our boat.
I love seeing the sea life y'all get!!
It intrigues us to learn about all the things we catch in our trawl net.
Oliver I totally understand you can’t win for losing. I’m praying for you all and please 🙏 for us.
Prayers. Thank you.
Great Job Guys!!!! Your help today was some hard workers!!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks. I sure hope our friends want to go again. We had a great time.
Thanks guys..I've seen the boats going up and down the beach with the seagulls following..now I know what's going on...I love the ocean so much...Thanks for taking me along.
Thank you. We appreciate you leaving us a comment. It's always great to hear that someone found our video helpful.
@@SaltyReflections Thank you...I love the beach so much...now I get to go again through your videos...❤
Yehbudi! 🌊🦐🦀🐚👣🎣🐬
Love listening to you Oliver and Steffany! For a person that doesn't know I would love to see how you pop the heads off? Thanks for another good share!
Thanks. Stephanie showed how to pop the heads in this video.
Thanks for another delightful trip. Glad you are a nerd, enjoy finding all the different kind of fish!!!
Thanks for coming along shrimping with us! 🦐🤓
What a beautiful day. Not a cloud in sight. Amazing on how many varieties of small fish! Can you have a small tank with filter and sell live fish for aquarium use? As I'm watchin, shrimp recipes are clouding my head and not helping my stomach! 😋
We've never thought about selling aquarium fish or if we could. Great idea. Make sure you always buy wild caught shrimp.
Steph, you just keep teaching us! I've actually learned a lot about stuff I didn't know a thing about before. 😊 And, Oliver, I guarantee you get your fair share of talking in!😅 But that's what makes y'all's videos so entertaining and keeps us coming back! Looks like you had a great time even if it was hard work. Loved the ending!❤️
Glad you enjoyed it! & all of our (mostly, mine today 😆) yapping! Yall Saltaholics help us learn too, so we're all just sharing the love & useless knowledge! 🤓🤪
They are shrimping, hope that you get a bunch!♥️🦐
We had a decent catch.
Steph is calling the right fish a hog choker. I dont know what the others are either 😊
Dagnabbit, Stephanie was right. I wish yall would just agree with me every once in a while, even when I'm wrong. 🤣
Glade you had the help makes it fun for all
Yep, we were glad to have our friends along for the trip! Thank you for joining along with us, too! 🦐🦐
Enjoyed watching u all! A lot of work but fun😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Look at all those 🦐shrimpies ! Enjoyed the ride !
Thanks for coming along. We had a great time videoing for this shrimping adventure.
Up here in the Mountains N.C. I ❤ seeing the ocean. Thanks!
Our friends that were with us are from NC also! 😃 Thanks for coming along! 🦐🦐
We think
That looks fun!! Lol 😂 we wanna come help out. We are Shrimp AND SaltAholics
😆 Shrimpin" ain't easy.
Great Biologist! Keep them shrimp heads for crab bait!
We do sometimes. 👍🦐😋🦀
You supposed to save the heads. Crush a little, boil, cook down to stock for gumbo and such.
Sounds good.
Well another great salty Reflections video I really enjoyed coming along on that Adventure. You guys make it look so fun. I believe one of the small species of fish that you guys were asking about is known as a sailor's choice I'm not sure if that's the exact name but I remember catching them when I was a young boy living in Port Royal and when I was working on a shrimp boat as a young kid the captain told me they were called sailor's choice
Thanks for the info and coming on another shrimping adventure with us.
Ive noticed most of your pull you keep the trawl in the wheel wash, if you turn your boat slowly to the left for about 5 to 10 min then to the right for 5 to 10 min your trawl will be out the wheel wash and you will catch more shrimp, it being in the wheel wash makes your shrimp push through the tail ball and loose catch.
Thanks for the info. I'll try to keep our trawl out of the wheel wash and see if that helps.
B.O.A.T=Break Out Another Thousand
💯 ✅️🤑
Y'all used to cook would like to see more of that 😢
👍We'll see what we can come up with.
I sent your video to my sister so she could see the dophins!
Thanks for sharing.
Did Stephanie throw that mantis shrimp back? They're delicious.
We usually throw the Mantis shrimp we catch back. We've eaten some of the ones we've caught, and they were pretty tasty. The ones we catch are usually small.
Can you guys do a oyster picking video one day I think that would be great content also…..
🤔 Let me think about it. We've never picked oysters.
Awww, Oliver, people are pickin' on you. I know you're yacking. But you're also concerned about the boat and nets, as much as the shrimp. I also know you enjoy the "Stephanie lessons". You love having fun, but sometimes you gotta be serious.
😘
😂 I am who I am. People can think what they choose. You're right, there's times when I have to be serious. I'm the reason why you guys get to watch our videos. I'm not saying Stephanie hasn't contributed to the videos with lots of knowledge. We all think in different ways.
The reason your shrimp are red and pink is because you drop the net rather than wash it down I have noticed what when I make extra long pulls I end up with pink and deep red shrimp so when I see pink and red shrimp I start shortening the pulls but with you dropping the net shrimp get held in the front of the net and don’t move to the tail bag until the next pull or even the pull after it is just a by product of having the shrimp in the net for too long
OK
Hey guys good luck with the strimpys
Thanks
I love watching your videos. You guys do such a great job. The only thing I would ask is it if you could keep LaGgrand from being so hard on the animals.
Keep up the great videos.
What?
Tel Oliver he can help instead of making you work all the time. Lol
LOL. I hope Stephanie doesn't see this comment.
Again another nice catch everybody how is everybody doing ? They look like they will fetch a good market price for their size .
We were thankful to have a decent catch, for sure!
I wanted to see that second ray but camera wasn't on the shrimp catch anymore😔
Sorry. We try our best.
Oliver you quit picking on Stephanie about our biology class lol she really is very interesting but so are you that's why your on my list of favorites you two keep up the good work enjoy those shrimpies
I'm not picking. The struggle is real. 😫
@@SaltyReflections I'm just picking with you lol
where would be a good place to get ahold of a 25ft trawl,,,been watchin your channel,,awsome content
Thanks. Beaufort Marine Supply
WELL HERE IN FLORIDA THAT IS A MUMZELL NOT SURE ABOUT THE SPELLING THE HOG CHOKER IS CALL ANOTHER NAME HERE I CAN'T OR WON'T MENTION. LIFE TIME COMMERCIAL FISHERMAN AT 66, ENJOY YOUR VEDIOS
Thanks, and thanks for the info. I bet you have a lot of stories you could tell from your years of fishing.
Maybe bait. Lol😅
LOL 😆 🤣 Yep.
I had to redo a vid of mine i uploaded on you tube i found out the problem the sound plug was put into the wrong back part of the computer so i did another vid with sound funny thing is i got 25 views i did say i was sorry to the viewers .😭😞
Things happen.
For the record, I would rather hear Stephanie talking about sea creatures than listen to Mr. Negativity.
😆
How long before you expect the water to cool down and the shrimp to leave?
The hog chokers are flat. Not sure what that other fish is.
Thanks for the info. Stephanie was right again.
Boats will be trawling in our area until Dec. or Jan.
I was wondering are you allowed to keep legal fish
Yes
When can ya keep the flounder. What size do they have to be?
Flounder have to be 16" for us to be able to keep them.
Have you ever kept a flounder, or the larger crabs?
We have occasionally kept the larger crabs if there happens to be a lot in the catch , but we have yet to catch a flounder of keeper size.
The ugly flounder looking fish is the hog choker. Never caught one but heard of the being caught behind the dam on santee
Thanks for the info. That's a fresh water area, right?
@SaltyReflections yes but couple months ago there was a picture little further down the river someone said the caught a bonnet head
Wow!
You are a talker
I guess I am a talker. LOL
Historically farmers used hogchokers as affordable fertilizers for their fields. They received their unusual name because it's said that pigs would choke on them due to their rough scales. Hogchokers are a flatfish with a brownish-gray body and vertical lines and spots.
Stephanie was right again. 😫 I'm going to keep my mouth shut and let her do all the talking. 😂 Thanks for the info.
