- Shrimping ain't easy. It takes a lot of time, know-how and lots of investment to trawl for shrimp. We're trying to see if we can make a small trawl boat profitable. Our goal is to please our customers. Buy local seafood. #commerrcial #shrimp #seafood
Don’t want to upset the shrimpers… you are shrimpers! Enough ocean for the commercial and the smaller local shrimpers. So very awesome love everything you guys do.. shoutout to Stephanie as well!
Good point. 😄 We're all just trying to do what we love. 🦐🦐🦐🦐
You guys are funny!! I enjoy watching you all.
Thanks. We have a great time together.
Great video. Stay safe and hydrated. Praying for your shrimping business.
Thank you, I will
Well I've missed a couple shrimping videos, but, just so you know my heart's in the right place, I watched this video instead of the final Stanley Cup game!😁 Good job, guys!❤️
We work hard to share videos with others. Thank you! I hope everything has been going well for you.
This is the first time I’m watching your videos. I enjoyed every moment. You guys are amazing and hard working. Stay safe . God Bless
Thanks so much. We love this work.
If you could, show how you remove the net from the water when you're through shrimping. Enjoy watching, Thanks
We sit the doors in the boat using the winch and drag the net in the back of the boat by hand.
If you use a cat head to get your bag you probably need permits and shrimpers license if you don’t all you need is a fishing license and can have probably 250lbs a day! Great video nice boat looks like an awesome stern dragger
Man those are some fine looking shrimp. This is why I love looking at your video's. God Bless you guys and Please be careful.
Thanks so much. We've been very pleased with the size of the shrimp we're catching.
I always enjoys going along with y’all . Great Job!
Awesome! Thank you!
I hope you two have a great pull. It started out not looking so good.
Enjoy
Great catch today!
This was a good dy of trawling for us. I enjoyed every min.
I am glad you guys did not have any jelly donuts before you left
😂🤣😅
hey guys great video as always to make thing easier you could put in more rings about 2ft from other set you have in cod end and split the bags when hauling
Great idea. My buddy is thinking about adding another pole 2 ft on the rigging to give us a little height.
Great job 🤙
I try my best. Thanks
You hit them today!
We were pleased with our catch. The shrimp were large, too.
I love your brogans shorts brother you the man
Thanks.
Looking for some new crabbing videos. 🦀🦀🦀🦀
It's been a while.
Wanna come visit soon!
See you soon.
You should shorten your warps up should only need 5 to 1 ratio ie 10 feet depth 50 feet wire out.
10/4. Thanks for the info.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks 💯👍
You guys are doing a fine job down there in south Carolina but you all need to stay out of the shade
I told my buddy, "we don't need a cabin with a top.
What’s the pitch on that prop!?!
I'm not sure.
Shrimpers Slip Knot/Cod End Knot--STILL NOT PROPERLY TIED!!!! Pliers to undo a knot…UNBELIEVABLE. Check youtube “chain stitch cod end slip knot”!!!! Good Luck…greatly needed. Unnecessarily still working hard..,🦐🦐🦐🦐🦐🦐. ps: ADD another 10 ft of tope yo lazy-line (rope from tail bag to board)…then NO need to muscle that rope to cathead to pull in bag. Use picking-rakes (buy plastic/homemade wooden) to save your fingers/hands ! Lengthen/add another 18” of SS pipe to your pull-rack…easier to retrieve bag!
I hadn't tried tying a cod not in a couple years. I pick the wrong time to try. LOL. Great advice on all the issues. The boats rigging and our setup is still a work in progress. Thanks.
The problem is they won’t do anything to change. A little bit of work to that rigging and that could be an easy working one man operation. They won’t listen to anything. They always say they’re having fun. Well it’s really getting old watching them break their backs not to mention the inefficiency in the operation. The time it takes them to pick up and set out a couple times I’ve done made another drag or two at the end of the day. But I’m a shrimper I don’t know what I’m talking about apparently
@@kyleleago9744 Trust me we're listening to all of the suggestions and seeing things that we need to do to make shrimping out of this boat easier. I've only been aboard this boat 4 times and I've shared our trips with others that are coming along to see how things go for us. I never want anyone to think we're not taking into account what they're suggesting. I'm just happy to have the opportunity to shrimp with my buddy and share our adventures with others while my boat is down. I've also shared videos where we're using a smaller boat with no rigging to help out. I love trawling and catching lots of shrimp is a bonus.
What’s the winch setup? Hydraulic or electric? Can it be purchased someplace
It's electric. It was already on the boat when my friend purchased it. I'm not sure where to purchase one like it.
@@SaltyReflections thanks for the reply, is there any markings on it?
@@fishinmoriches I'll take a look when I get a chance and let you know.
The ones crying about the bycatch are the ones that got NOAA to outlaw longlines for sharks .Did they cry about the 2 young kids that were killed by sharks in the Panhandle ,And the Young girl that had a leg amputated, all in 1 day. Bet they cry about the bycatch and the sharks that are way overpopulated thanks to theire types
.
We have way too many sharks in our area.
Is that an aluminum prop? Much performance with a load going to stainless! No flex under load
It is aluminum. It was on the boat when my buddy purchased it. The boat is pulling hard.
@SaltyReflections efficiency will go up with stainless but aluminum does give you some cushion if you are working shallow or risk hitting objects.
@@lathammarek927 The boat landing where we're launching the boat has lots of rock as you can see in the video. It's easy to hit one of them. This landing gets too shallow to use on lower tides.
Do you still have any big welk shells on EBay for sale?
I don't think so.
What do you do with all of the shrimp?
We sell them. We're commercial licensed to trawl and licensed to sell them.
What size doors and HP motor to pull that 48ft net?
150 hp 5 ft doors
@@SaltyReflections thank you for always answering questions and giving details in your videos. It’s helped me out a lot.
Do you have a Facebook just curious if I could find you on there I got a similar set up I'm close to the finish line on it
Yes. Look up Salty Reflections on Facebook.
I LOVE LIFE IN GENARAL AND WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT BUT SOME TIMES I JUST DON'T KNOW . ANYWAY HOW ARE YOU DOING IN LIFE ? GETTING READY TO SEE A BUNCH OF DOCTORS NEXT MONTH > IWISH THEY WOULD LEAVE ME ALONE . HEALTH BILLS ARE PILING UP .
Sending prayers.
Came across your channel and love it. I live in Goose Creek so it’s nice to see another Carolina guy out there.
Thanks. We're after shrimpies here in Beaufort.
Awesome. Do you guys keep all of your haul or do you sell the majority?
@@sadlersquad We sell all we can. The money helps pay for our time out on the water and expenses. And we love trawling.
Love this content. Shows all that is involved in a small time trawling boat. Those sea birds were excited😊
Thanks.
You guys are taking it easy to much
LOL. That's a big part of trawling.
Looks like things are working great
We still have some things that need attention but we're working some of the issues out. The little boat is a shrimping machine!
I always enjoy your videos but I really enjoyed this video. How often do y'all cover to North Augusta with shrimp and when you do come where do you come to? I hope to get some shrimp from you soon. And do you ever catch any mullet? I love mullet! A lot of people only like the smaller ones but i like then all! Even the latest ones! I like the fishy taste! Once again, thanks for the video and taking this broken down old fat man along for the ride!
My buddy carries shrimp back to N. Augusta every weekend when we're shrimping. He should have some there this Sunday. Look him up on Facebook Philip McFerrin.
@@SaltyReflections Thank you! I'll do that!
🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍 you almost there on the knot...that first one and last one....that'll hold the world...😂😂
😂 It's been a couple of years since I tied one. I'll work on it.
Great catch wow what big shrimp
Yes, thanks
❤️❤️❤️
