Engineering at it finest...lol. I've never understood why filters can't just be standard.. as in the same filters for the same class, or size tractors across the board. And have them all easily accessible, but protected. Nice service video! Thank you Chris!!
It gets better Ed. Two former employers limited the engine to a single engine model for that reason. Current employer owns Cummins, Detroit, and Paccar engines. It was worse, but the two Maxforse engines died.
@brycewiborg8095 lol. And we have a little of everything.. only things in common are the service truck, combine and the IH tractor all take the same engine oil filters. Both Case-IH tractors are the same too.. otherwise, everything is different.
@FarmallFanatic Yes. I bought a new A series years ago. It had problems from the moment I got it. At one point, it was gone from the farm for over 6 months while they tried to fix it. About 4 months into the 6, they gave me a brand new tractor as a loaner. That had some of the same issues as mine. Finally, they gave me a replacement tractor because mine was still broken. They replacement tractor was 2 horsepower sizes up from mine, which was a nice upgrade. However, the first time I drove it, a warning light came on. That was it for me. I traded it in on a Kubota. No more new Case IH stuff for me. I understand than things will have issues, but the company drug things out for a long period of time before they finally did anything about it. Customer service is very important to me. There are various videos along the way documenting this. I should probably put them in a playlist.
Thank You Chris, this was awesome, I like that NH, I experience the same with comment notifications, as a rule I checked every morning on my channel Community for replies from my previous videos, it sucks to get no notifications
It is an extremely versatile little tractor to have and important maintain it properly. I did watch and comment on your last video too. Thank you Jan 🙂
@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin I have lots of unanswered comments on my channel so lots of people probably think I am a jerk 🤣🤣🤣 After the first 24 hours or so, the video notifications seem to become random.
@dehavenfamilyfarm lol.. notifications are random from the very first comment. Seems like I'll get notified of the third or fifth comment, then maybe the tenth.. might get a notification of a random reply. So I spend some time going and looking. And of course, always 2 to 5 minutes late. So it's not like it used to be, where you can have a conversation as if you're texting.. but that's Gooble for you 🙄
Seems like I didn't always have problems with filters. There was more room, and my fingers were more flexible. I tend to be loyal to elder vehicles, and tractors for that reason. Thank you Chris.
Man yeah, a good service and ready for the season!! Looking fwd to seeing the Milwaukee light 😁 I would LOVE to have an indoor shop one day that had a door! Thank you Mr Chris for bringing us along, look fwd to seeing what's next😁😁👌🏻👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇲🇺🇲
@Pennies_on_the_dollar I have only had one chance to use the new light, but I really like it. It took me over 10 years to get to the point where I am with my shop. I have no doubt you will get there too. Thanks Nelson!!
@Jason1Pa Definitely challenging to get to. I suppose if the tractor didn't have the loader frame on it, it would be very accessible. But you don't see many of these tractors without loaders. Thanks!!
Nice job Chris, I've got to get my 504 Utility service but can't find all the points. I need to get a service manual ordered. Thanks for sharing and hope you have a blessed week coming up my friend.
@RandWFarmstead-TonyWalsh Owners and service manuals definitely make maintenance easier. I try to buy them whenever I purchase another antique tractor. Thank you Tony!!
@HumbleHaymakers Thank you. Yes I have. They were only 4x4 dry bales though. Both rear tires are loaded. These hydro tractors are so efficient when it comes to loader work.
Chris, do you plow or move snow with your New Holland? I was thinking about getting a tractor with a snowblower attachment but worried about not having a cab cover. Would that be an issue with blowing snow? It would not be fun to be covered in snow while snow blowing during a snowstorm.
@nonshlnt yes I have. I used to have a 6' snowblower for the three point hitch. If it was windy, and the snow was fluffy, you did have to be careful where you blew the snow so it didn't come back on you. If it wasn't windy or the snow was wet, it wasn't really a concern. Mine did have a hydraulic chute on it so if it was windy you could change direction quickly.
Nice work Chris. All ready to go for another season.
@farmerpete Thank you Pete 🙂 I sure hope so!!
Good morning Chris ☕☕☕

Didn't you have a new CaseIH that you returned? Gonna have to go check out your old videos.

Notifications SUCK! I do the same. Very time consuming, but I don't want people thinking I'm a jerk..

I agree. New technology just keeps packing more electronics and crap on trucks and equipment taking up space. Thanks Bryce!!

Nice thorough maintenance - good to go come spring. Question - you moved any round bales around with that tractor?
