    Wow! Have been watching plant videos on Peperomia for past three years, but yet to see something as big and beautiful as your plant... Hats off!!! I have killed a few peperomia; they grow well initially, but then roots start to rot, so i take cuttings, and grow them... So my plants usually remain small... Still have not figured out right kind of soil for them in Delhi NCR weather...

    Does pruning the little flower spikes off encourage more foliage growth?

      Hi Manasi, Pruning this plant is very easy. Just cut the top ends from wherever you want depending upon the size of your plant. You can use these cutting for propagation.

    Hello, I'm a brand new plant mom, and I just picked up one at my local grocery store ysday. I'm wondering when I should change the soil, some ppl/Chanel's say right away some say after a few days some say Dnt at all. However with the other few plants I recently bought I found changing the soil has been a game changer for me with keeping them alive. Do you suggest I should do the same , or wait ???

    • @Homemakr
      @Homemakr  2 роки тому +4

      Hi Erin, Regardless of whether your plant is new or old, I would suggest you to keep your Baby Rubber plant in the same soil/ pot till you see the roots coming out of the drainage holes or you think that your plant has overgrown. Baby Rubber plants actually love to be root bound. You can change the soil during next spring season.
      Otherwise also, it will be a good idea to let your new plant first adjust to the new environment and once you think that your plant has settled well, you can start fertilizing your plant or changing the soil if you really want to. Thank you😊

    Hi ,what would you suggest ,down watering or watering from top for peperomia obtusifolia. I recently received one as a gift and don't have much knowledge about indoor plants.
    Thank you

      Water from top!

    • @Homemakr
      @Homemakr  2 роки тому

      Hi Radhika, Peperomia Obtusifolia is a very low maintenance plant and a wonderful indoor plant. It does not need very frequent watering as the leaves and stem can store water in them. You can top water your plant and let the soil to dry before watering again. Also make sure not to keep it bone dry as it can affect the plant adversely.

    I had one that I got many years ago and it got neglected at work and only has one stem.. I am trying to bring it back.. any tips?

    • @Homemakr
      @Homemakr  Рік тому

      This plant is extremely low maintenance plant. Just follow the tips in the video and your plant will pick up its lost vigour. Peperomias are slow growing plants.

      You can repot the plant if the plant is sitting in the same soil for long time or just loosen it up using a stick or garden fork.

      Bottom watering works best. But you can water it from the top as well. Dont over water. Let the soil dry out before watering.
