"The Mechanix" was the original version that later would be called "The Four Horsemen". Mustaine increased the pace from the original version of the song, renamed it simply "Mechanix", and included it on the first Megadeth album "Killing is My Business... and Business is Good!".
This Demo is a Fan Made Bootleg.
Recording:
Recorded in Ron McGovney's garage in April 1982.
And the drums still sound better than the St. Anger...
@@justdead99I know everyone has their own opinions but holy shit this one should’ve stayed in the drafts
@@justdead99 Ain't no fucking way St. Anger is better than AJFA and Black Album. Hell, it's even worse than ReLoad. I want what you're smoking...
@@justdead99 the drums in justice are good
@@justdead99 What?? St Anger is straight trash, not thrash. I actually felt bad for the San Quentin inmates who had to be exposed to that nonsense to make that video. It's not bad enough they are in prison?? Now they have to act like that horrid song was entertaining?? They should have sued for cruel and unusual punishment. The drums on that album sounded like Hunter Biden banging on a hotel room trash can after a 3 week crack binge.
@@DexusazBlack Album lol.. Technically just better sound quality, but Top 40 Rock verging on AOR at best..
Mustaine's backing vocals meshed so well with James lead, I bet they were a fucking great duo on stage.
I've never heard this!! How did this cat get a hold of this and publish it online. I'm definitely not complaining. Before Cliff. Crazy...very cool 🤘
So much reverb and delay on the vocals lol. Man, they must've been so young then, 18-20? To be this young and put out music like this. I'd like to see that happen today with the younger generation. Good luck.
You ain’t kidding. Dave’s backings is super cool on this
@@CTGDesigner sure. Children of Bodom recorded their debut when they were 15-17 years old.
Gojira made their debut when they were 18-20 years old.

@@dannie2712 Yup. When they first formed they couldn't afford drums so Igor had to play on buckets. Its why he hits them so hard because he had to beat the shit out of the buckets to be heard.
Mustaine even posed as the lady on the albumcover. He is much more important for Metallicas early success than most people realize!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
He was very important to their early success, but I do think he reaches a bit too much when he starts claiming he wrote parts of master of puppets. And Megadeth fans who grope his nuts about all that are all weirdos.
I love me some Megadeth, I love me some Dave Mustaine, but he can be a total premadonna about things.
Good one.
@@g-mancollections5264 Indeed, he had his part, but he’s always just been a crusty dude, he would have tried Daivify Metallica if they kept him, he has to be the top guy in everything, the fact that Elefson is gone says alot about his loyalty, mainly that he has none!!!! I agree, Megadeth nuts are some strange people!!!!😂😂😂😂
Metallica sucks and they haven't written a good CD in 30 plus years..... Mustaine was a big influence and did write some stuff off Master of Puppets. Sorry Metallica fan boys.
Are you kidding me? That's their best album cover ever!

Awesome to hear Mustaine shredding on these!
sounds very Diamond Head, thanks Lars for that european sound
It's amazing how much you can hear diamond head in their style in this demo. Great to hear early Dave licks.
I was thinking the same thing . Definitely can tell the influence Diamond Head had on them .
They recreated their style of sound in this song with perfection.
Yes! Het's vocal style was VERY Diamondhead influenced.
The bass guitar has a Motörhead sound to me.

Very similar to Diamond Head
Sean Harris from Diamond Head, more like it.
Dude, eeeeevery single damn thrash band in the early 80s just soaked their vocals in reverb.
@@lt.bagelbites6969how dare you even consider comparing James to the masterful majestic perfect vocals that come out of Michael Kiske to this day. Helloween literally blows 90% of every other band out of the water.
It amazes me how talented these guys were at like 19 years old.
Mustaine sounds so good here mixed with them. Just shredding, and the vocals. Awesome.
Seriously just a bunch of 19 year old kids! Who made the most raw and aggressive sounding demo in history!
The leads are awesome. Kirk did a good job on the album but I personally think he came into his own on RTL.
Best backing vocals you could ever want for a thrash group. What a duo.
They would still be today too if James wasn't under the influence of that Philosopher Napoleon Urlich.

This was when James was trying to sound like the lead singer of Diamond head with the way he held on to the end of words
Before a good producer said "don't do that"
Llllllllllllll I’ll pplplllpok ❤❤
@@EricMartinSmithOfficial Having listened to these cats like 40 years to date i must agree. I DO really dig this early, young, raw, fist fighting and hungery sound but guess its because sometimes I like to hear the evolution of a killer band within several years apart. Example Led Zeppelin on their b b c sessions then fast forward just 5 years and everybodys playing, vocals etc are just way tighter, but its still cool for me to hear the progression of hard work, focus and dedication to bring me jams that still crank in my house, my car and at work. Good call though man. Rock on
The Diamond Head influence is thick....

I always assumed he was a hack. He’s actually keeping ip just fine.
It’s amazing how James’ vocals evolved over the years. Even between this and master of puppets, only FOUR YEARS later, it’s a night and day difference. On a side note, these guitars actually sound pretty good. That roomy, distant sound is doin it for me for some reason. Goes to show that tone really is mostly in your hands at the end of the day…
The crazy thing is that I enjoy James voice from the early years more than now. I kind of wish he'd go back to this style personally but it's all still rockin!!
yeah its a great comment. Personally I found the biggest shift in his voice was Puppets to Justice. Black album was the point i think it fully ballanced out to mostly what we know today. Somewhere between Black album and Load, as the story goes he blew his voice out and had to have coaching to save it which taugh him a bunch of vocalist techniques he now references and credits today which has very much changed it again too but before Jutice it very much was all in the upper register, which is guess was appropriate for that time too.
@@wythealexander3885wow, personally i loved dave mustaine voice circa 80, 90...now he's vocal just gone and that's sad
Dude this is like NWOBHM. This is bad ass.
Evolved from vocalist to thinking he could sing.... Never should have sang... Money's money.
You can definitely hear the Budgie influence in James' singing. Glad he kept at it and got better (and hit puberty).
I fucking love how much more rock and roll this sounds, to be honest Metallica are practically responsible for popularizing the common metal guitar tone so to see how they sounded like just before they moved on to that heavier tone really pulls into perspective how melodic their first songs are.
Hit the Lights is a better version than Kill em all session.
