I was there on the Saturday morning. Nice little show 👌 The club stand was very good 👍 i picked up 10 various open wagons for £10 and got a boxed Hornby open wagon with coal load for £2.50 really good value 👏 👌 I also picked up a lovely boxed Hornby j94 for £50 and a boxed Hornby county class for £45 😊 so i got some really good 👍 bargains 😊
You got some good bargains, the club stands are always you and sometimes you find the models have been weathered and detailed. All the best Rick
Nice model layouts and traders, thankyou for showing. The Exley coaches were a standout. I owned a Southern bogie baggage car.
Lovely coaches and I was tempted! I will keep an eye out for them in future. All the best Rick
I went on Saturday. A good show. I bought some wagons from one of the trade stands. As I was paying for them, I noticed a man in his 60s, well dressed, pick up a locomotive and walk off with it. I thought he was going to pay for it. But he had actually stolen it. I informed the stall holder but we couldn't find him. I think he is on cctv though. And they may have his car reg as a result. Apart from this. The show was really great. It was my first time there. I noticed that the standard of the scenery on the layouts was very high.
Hi Philip, cheeky bastard some things beggars belief. It's nice to think that our filming can act as a deterrent. At one fair I noticed a couple of dodgy characters point us out and it was only afterwards that I thought that the reason they clocked us was that they could have been up to no good. This was at only our second fair and it is something we are more conscious of now. The thing is nobody would expect this of a well dressed chap in his 60s! I do hope he is found as all the traders at the show we consider friends as we see them on so many occasions. You're right about the scenery as well! Many thanks for watching Rick
@@wellchuffedrailways it was our stand he stole from. Hornby Merchant Navy Limited Edition, second hand, in a red presentation sleeve.
Certainly keeps the finger on the pulse of what things are going for these days! Thank you both.
That's us Andy, reporting from the front line! Thanks very much for watching. All the best Rick
Several amazing layouts, a pleasure to see them all. What I really liked in this video was Rick picking up models from different companies and showing how they were really the same exact or near-exact models from the same molds. He did it 3 or 4 times and I really enjoyed that.
Glad you enjoyed it Anthony. So many of the same moulds used by different model companies over the years, hard to keep track of them all. All the best Rick
Super video guys. Such a great day out and what wonderful layouts. Some good N gauge stuff for us small people ( being only 5ft 5” tall) lol . Magic. 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks very much Paul, actually filming N gauge is pretty good as Pauline can get more in shot. All the best Rick
Loving the 00-9 gauge layouts! ❤ fantastic video guys. Lots of very nice layouts. Keep the videos coming 😊👍 thank you 😊
Thanks for watching Rick
Those Exley coaches looked absolutely stunning.
To think they are over 60 years old too.
You must of been tempted…..
I was a but not enough. Thanks for watching Rick
Some great layouts there very good video thanks for showing n gauge for the little people lol👍
Cheers Clive. 😃
The Exley coaches at 25:42 were the top of the ranges OO and EM coaches to have in the fifties into the seventies.
Even back then more expensive than any other RTR coach.
The Railway of the Month or even Year in the Railway Modeller magazine would commonly have these coaches as the staple of the fleet on huge layouts most can sill only dream of.
Edward Exley was a small specialist firm that concentrated on UK coaches mostly RTR but some kits.
Exley top of the range coaches. But back then there were not alternative plastic models of a pre nationisation coach. They cultivated a steady stream of well heeled customers that were prominent in model railways back then.
Thanks for the info, I haven't had time to do some research on these and on another occasion I might have been tempted. I particularly liked the LNER model. Thanks for watching Rick
A great collection of excellent layouts which I’ve never seen before. Today’s standards of scenic modelling are incredibly high.
It's awe inspiring isn't it. Thanks for watching Rick
Good content
Thanks very much 😀
Some brilliant layouts
Good layouts there and some.lovely coaches
Those coaches were fab weren't they.
NICE, good-looking start!!!! And some Car's too but they do look American lol :)?. ... You know you have done a lot of great Layouts. But I do like this one a lot of Rick!!!! You just need to buy$$$ this one for you mate lol!!! And now more to look at wow you sure do tempt me on it all lol!!!! mmmm Passenger cars lol I do like my English PC :)!!! Nice video you too all the best to you all:)!!!! Cheers mate!!!!
Thanks very much Brad, glad you liked the American cars! All the best Rick
@@wellchuffedrailways Well done you !!!
Nice exhibition, to me the best part where these metal GWR coaches, never seen those before, they must have been made in very limited editions.
And in such pristine condition for something out of the 60's, and what's even better they could be standing next to modern stuf, they haven't lost their flair.
great to see love them…
£40 each you can say quite expensive but on the other hand, new coaches retail go to about £70, so if you have the money to spend I think that should be a good investment, I do hope that the one who buys them, buys them all, it would be a shame to separate them…
cheers,
Danny
I completely agree with you Danny.
Not a Bad Show some good Stuff goin on.
fab video guys always entertaining and informative
Thanks very much Geoffrey
👍🚂🚞🚞🚞
Amazing collection of layouts there Rick and Pauline, especially 29th Street Wharf. Did you buy anything Rick?
Hi Deano, I spent the princely sum of £8 which got me 2 wagons. Cheers Rick
liked the american 1950s layout , including the routemaster double decker bus. was waiting to see if a tardis would pop out of no where .
Some fab layouts there and we see TARDIS on quite a few layouts. Some might just be police boxes though. 🤔 Cheers Rick
4:00 Why do Welsh narrow gauge trains have such a toy train look... Is it because the vehicle design and color schemes never evolved past their very early origins? Continental colors, especially German ones were never that bright (usually green coaches, brown freight cars and black locomotives with red chassis).
5:13 Shunting puzzle, what type was that
6:10 One of the UP Heritage schemes. The numbers are the approximate year of the mergers
12:26 That shallow relief background is a great idea
22:05 These are so small to be able to fit on a flatcar without disassembling the cabin, as the top speed is only 30kmh or so. Also used for branch line freight and as industrial locomotives. Some of these did end up at various UK heritage lines
22:30 RhB Ge 4/4 on normal gauge bogies. These are actually narrow gauge locomotives that operate in Switzerland on one of the larges narrow gauge networks in Europe
Thanks for the info Ivo, lots of great scenery at this show. All the best Rick
Just that bit too far for me to go, thanks for sharing
Cheers Tim
