Yes, I think I took way too long to share because I felt embarrassed that I couldn’t just “handle it and love it” then when I watched a video the other day on Chinese confinement and all the support they had… I had this lightbulb moment. OF COURSE it’s hard… we are just not set up with the support required 💞

I was blessed to have a food train with several friends committing to bringing food for our family a couple of nights a week for the first month. It was absolutely amazing! Every pregnant woman should organize something similar for herself. Sometimes we’re so afraid to ask for help, but dammit, we can’t ALWAYS be Superwoman! The postpartum period (I’ve heard it referred to as the fourth trimester) is SUCH a time when we need support from as many people as we can get! We are so vulnerable, our bodies are healing from birth, yet so many of us push ourselves to “get back to our normal life”. I see women in the grocery store with babies that are only DAYS old! It’s honestly just shameful to see women having to do that. We need to wake up and get real about the challenges (and epic beauty!) of the postpartum period and BE THERE FOR EACH OTHER AS WOMEN!!! ✊💪💃🏻🤰👩🍼💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
I’m 8 weeks postpartum today and this is my first real workout. But it was just what I needed today, and now I think it's probably more just what I need most days. This video really has it all, in terms of the blocking, the timer, the affirmations, the actual pause for a water break, the what's up next, the variation in movement- you hit all the spots! Just letting you know I think you are doing a great job! Also my daughter and I LOVE your dance videos with your daughter!

Thank you for this video! I am 6.5 weeks postpartum and this is the first workout I've done since my delivery. I had an emergency C section with terrible complications and was in the hospital for two weeks post delivery. I didn't recognise my body and was scared I would never feel like myself again. I'm still healing but I'm so proud of myself for being able to do this video. Thank you so much for this and especially for the affirmations at the end, they made me tear up in a good way. I had my last daughter an year and a half ago. I tried some DR exercises and when I check for the gap I feel there is only a finger gap but still over it I feel loose muscles and tissues or maybe skin. So now what to do with it. Is it a tummy tuck that's needed?

It depends on your recovery … usually 6-12 months to return to full-impact and “HIIT” style intense moves.
