    I just went into a store in Shanghai, so amazing. Their crown piece is a DOUBLE tourbilion. These get expensive, but the regular daily watches are super affordable for the quality. If you know anything about luxurious watches, you can instantly tell these watches are selling for about a third of what they are worth.

    Nice looking watch! As to the strap... leather straps need to break in just like leather shoes. As they absorb oil and moisture from wear, they conform to your wrist. Also, there's nothing wrong with Chinese watches. I have a couple of them, and they totally rock. Thanks for introducing this brand.

    4:18. If it makes you feel better about the cse design, it's just like the Seiko '62 mas diver, and is considered a classic of mid-century watch design. Personally, I like it a lot. It also resembles a lot of Vostok Amfibia watches from Russia.

    I have a version of this watch which I bought new around the early 90s. it has the same case and caseback and second hand but the dial is plainer with Arabic numerals.its branded"limit" which is a budget UK brand which is still operating today.

    That's a pretty cool little watch. I like the red on the second hand, and the overall look of the dial. A bit small for my 7" wrist but a watch like that would make a great, affordable gift for someone it fits, and you never know, it could launch another watch fanatic.

    That watch is a re-issue. I have seen the used ones. The logo is not underlined on the older used models. I have this watch. They are quite nice.

      That's what I was suspecting based on google image searches of Shanghai watches. But I agree, they are nice nonetheless.

    Hello, first of all, thank you for your review.
    I would like to ask you a question: is this watch an official reissue or a simple clone?
    I've a similar watch, different brand (Baoshihua), coming from Shanghai factory too, in really bad conditions (was a grandfather's watch).
    Should I restore it (spending a lot of money) or not?

      @NameNr123 3 місяці тому

      If the watch has history and restoring dosen't break the bank, i would bring the watch back in wearable condition. Wearing something that your grandfather has is a special thing, nothing new can give.

    I would say Rolex of China would be a Sea-gull watch. Superior to Shanghai watches.
    The Shanghai watch you have there is a reissue of a 1980s watch they used to make. A nice retro look.
    The chrystal is acrylic and scratches can be polished out with Polywatch.
    20mm straps can be squeezed in to 19mm lugs.

      Official Shanghai reissue or a clone?

    If I wanted to buy your first Shanghai watch, where to start? Which chronograph/aviator/racing should I choose first?

      I think the only way to buy a for-sure authentic Shanghai watch is the visit one of their boutiques in China.

    Hi, friend. How often do you have to turn the crown to the fullest per day so that the watch does not stop? That is, how long in hours does the watch keep running with a full charge? Thank you very much and greetings

    • @AChannelAboutWatches
      @AChannelAboutWatches  2 роки тому

      I've turned the crown 30 times max, which made it last about 30 hours. I haven't risked turning it any further in case I damage the watch.

    Save your money. New old junk. Mine ran for about a month and then the mainspring snapped. The dealer in China ghosted me. AliExpress ghosted me.

    Comparing this watch to a 4 dollar chinese watch dosen't make it Rolex material.
