Probably my favourite Flieger watch. I love the finish of the case, design of the crown and the lugs, although I wonder if they might not give a wrist hugging angle to the strap. The 42 would just about fit you I think?
In my opinion, I dont think its too big at all, its just uncompromisingly true to purpose. Until a watch obviously overhangs the wrist, I think its still up to the wearer; and I agree, with the flieger, its go big or go home!
It‘s not likely, that I am going to do it in the near future. However, the differences are significant: Better movement, better crown, temperature blues bs black colored hands, bead blasted vs brushed case - I would pay the premium for the more authentic watch.
@@Watch-Maxe_En thank you for the reply, I have a 16.5cm wrist, flat shape (quite like yours). I know laco has a 39mm version which is safe for me but I don't like 18mm strap and would like push to the size limit on flieger watches so thinking about the 42mm version, tks for your review I know 45mm won't fit my wrist well.
Not sure what you are looking for - the price for the watch or the strap. BTW: New Videos (also in English) will only be published on my other channel: ua-cam.com/users/WatchMaxe1
Ive got the Laco Dortmund and love it
👍👍👍
I love the new Laco originals in 39mm
Yes, it‘s a great but small watch.
Well done 👏 thank you
You are welcome.
Great review. Love the wing shape of the lugs deliberate or not. This is making me seriously consider Laco over Stowa.
Talking Flieger, I prefer Laco over Stowa.

Agree. But I always feel Flieger must be BIG.
WatchMaxe_EN Yes but I’ve modified that rule to “big for me”!

you are right. Flieger need to be big
Would enjoy a comparison video of Laco Speyer 39 and Aachen 39. Am curious whether the Speyer is worth the difference in price. Cheers.

@@Watch-Maxe_En Thanks. That tells me what I wanted to know-that you believe the Speyer 39 is worth the extra money. Cheers.
thank you for the review, do you think the 42mm version will fit a smaller wrist?
What is you definition of a smaller wrist? Additionally it does not only depend on size, but also on shape and form (fully round vs flat ellipse).

I would go for the 39mm unless you are ready to accept that pilots watches „need“ to be on the bigger side.
If 45mm is too big would 42mm suit better a wrist of 17cm circumference?
With 17cm my sweet spot would be around 40mm
Sir...I own an original,55mm. Has a canvas band with metal grommets. Can't find the value of this piece anywhere. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Was this made in 42mm?
There is a 42mm version. But I think I covered prices and variants also in the video.
WatchMaxe_EN I found it. Model 861695 Manheim
@@desmobc It's the 861749 Paderborn ;-) The Mannheim is an older model which isn't any longer available...
The best Laco fleiger made today
how to remove the back case and adjust accuracy?
I am no watchmaker.
