Hello Mark Just received the ballast watch i ordered from you; thanks for sending so quickly. The content you present on your channel has taught me much and has been much appreciated. Take care and thanks again.
Thanks for another well done and informative video. The first watch you showed stole my heart, but sadly out of my budget. The orange monster still looking great 😁
firstly . THANK YOU for the great review. i just wanna say that there's a sudden change in me !!!. when the distressed models came out. i didn't like'em at all. and now i'm in love. don't know why it took some-time to warm up to them. well maybe i'm a little late to the party but never too late. cheers
Always love the Paderborn Erbstuck. Been wanting one for while now, but just haven't pulled the trigger. It is no inexpensive and I've found other ways to spend the equivalent amount for other watches. But, almost certainly, that's the one for me to get some day. I am always warry about faux patina and distress. BUT, Laco has the historic chops and authentic design to make this totally ok for them to do this... and they do it very well. If it were another brand that was doing a flieger style watch but didn't actually have any historic contribution and one of the 5 original manufacturers producing pilot's watches for the Luftwaffe back in WW2 originally, then I couldn't go for that. . it would seem too fake to me in that context. Thanks for sharing and having a closer look.!
Erbstück is pronounced like 'airb-shtewk' (and the 'ew' is really like rounded off and cut short- it's tough describing the u umlaut). Nice looking piece, something I'd never have to be paranoid about putting the first scratch on! I really like the grade 3 look too, yeah usually the faux-distressed design is hokey in clothes (especially if you're actually putting rips in jeans) but it'd be really cool to have a new, functionally straight out of the factory piece that looks like its dial has been through hell and back
Nein, ich bin Amerikaner, aber habe ich fünf Jahre von Deutsch im Gymnasium studiert (and forgive me I'm quite rusty it's been more than a decade since then)
Great vids!! Love the watches especially the Bronze self patina is super cool. The new distressed kinda seems in-genuine character unless it's a movie prop....
Love Laco but a £300 Augsburg in a 42mm will do me. Soon real soon. Another great review though even though some people really don't get it on here, I do and love the distressed patina ones (made to look like real WW2 Luftwaffe of course).
I love the t-shirt. I am not a fan of faux distressed, and certainly can't see paying extra for it ( Too bad my Afghanistan battle distressed G-Shock isn't worth a grand more, I put some serious time into "aging" that watch ). That said, it is a nice range of pieces, and good lord that Munster Blaue Stunde is really sharp. Laco is a brand that I have always respected, and would be my first pick for a Flieger.
Mark! Please show us the new seiko 5 divers (srpb91 and family) they look stunning but I want to know how they look on the wrist because of the 44mm case size
That first watch reminded me of a Bell & Ross WWII Reg. they sold and I had some years back .. was a very cool watch .. but to pay an extra $1100 for them to spend a week or two dinging it up to look distressed seems a little much!
i bought a seiko turtle padi 2 days ago .After 3 different sales staff tried to resize the pin and collar bracelet before they handed it to the jeweller , it now looks like that first laco you showed us . arrrrrrrrrghhhh
Hi mark- couple of questions. Does the crown recess further in. I've noticed in your video the crown sticks out more than other videos. Perhaps a feature with the newer model. And- How is the hand winding feel? Thanks
Aged Laco originals is pure dope! But a bit overpriced I think. And I could`ve understand it in case if there were oldschool historical Durowe inside, but they don`t resurrect it, so i`ll better spend my monet on something else.
Had an Orange Monster with a strapcode super engineer. Cool watch kinda wish I still had it. I’m sure people are into it, but I’d rather patina a watch myself lol
I agree, Mike. I love my Friedrichshafen but would never pay the tab for an artificially "vintaged" Erbstuck. They're beautiful, though, just too rich for my blood.
This is not working for me - everything is distressed/patinaed except for the modern sapphire crystal. They should have added an acrylic crystal and then left it up to the owner to "naturally distress" it.
Sorry Marc but I just don't get it. It just seems like a classic case of The Emperor's New Clothes to me. I'll take a Munster and in my hands it'll look "hand distressed" in a year for free.
I agree with Marc on this. I have a black B-dial Friedrichshafen that I wear very frequently. I don't baby my watches so it has acquired some scuffs and scratches on the case. The crystal , dial, and hands, however, are pristine. A definite contrast to the Erbstuck watches, which genuinely (if falsely) look like they've been around since the '40s.
There is no such thing as a high-end Laco. All low-end discount from inside and out. Period. They do deserve some credit for keeping the ultra authentic design, but otherwise it'sthe poor man's IWC...
There's high-end everything, high-end Casio, Timex, etc. I use it to tell you it's the most expensive watches they make. Many would say a low end Rolex is an Air-King.
I never thought I'd like a "distressed" model, but I stand corrected... it is beautiful.
It sure is.
Great video and love the process Laco has introduced on these timepieces. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for checking it out.

Thank you for watching and your business.
I just ordered a Laco from you.

It happens!

The blue dial is awesome. I like the blued hands as well.
It's mesmerizing.
That Laco looks like a grade 2 ageing. Grade one supposed to have almost no case dents and that had several.
Thanks, I enjoy watching your reviews. They add a lot to what I can read about the watches.
Thanks for watching.
They got second world war vibe. I actually like it

seems to be some fellow Germans to be here 👍
Thank you for the help!

Interesting watches,Mark.Another great review. Thanks . Adrian in Sheffield England. Best wishes.
Thanks Adrian. Enjoy!
😂 just saw the first 2 minutes - great shirt - now I watch the rest vid - 😂😂😂😂😂 can't stop laughing 😂😂😂😂
LOL!
Nice ! I like em all
Me too :)
Great video, Mark!
anonymous George ahem, it's cark
Thank you! :)
Great vids!! Love the watches especially the Bronze self patina is super cool. The new distressed kinda seems in-genuine character unless it's a movie prop....
Understood; still looks cool.
Nice review, love the blue dial.
Both of us.
That actually looks so amazing
Looks better in hand.
the erbstuck has become my new dream watch, it looks like such an amazing piece of history!
Love Laco but a £300 Augsburg in a 42mm will do me. Soon real soon. Another great review though even though some people really don't get it on here, I do and love the distressed patina ones (made to look like real WW2 Luftwaffe of course).

I absolutely love these watches, I will have to settle for the budget steinharts though!
That's nothing to sneeze at!
I love the t-shirt. Thanks for watching John.

Eventually, sure.
Lovely B
I have a 2008 B Uhr manual wind limited edition (22/50). I have original black and brown straps, receipt, and box. Any idea of the value?
That first watch reminded me of a Bell & Ross WWII Reg. they sold and I had some years back .. was a very cool watch .. but to pay an extra $1100 for them to spend a week or two dinging it up to look distressed seems a little much!
I understand your point!
i bought a seiko turtle padi 2 days ago .After 3 different sales staff tried to resize the pin and collar bracelet before they handed it to the jeweller , it now looks like that first laco you showed us . arrrrrrrrrghhhh
That's one way to age it :)
Love that Erbstuck, but a hand-wind movement would really kick the authenticity up a notch.
There is one. You just have to take the "Leipzig" instead of the "Paderborn"
Exactly.
Hi Marc, sorry about the misspelling my brothers name is Mark, just natural for me to spell with a k. Good video..yep I love that bronze version!
No worries!
That’s an admirable shirt
Thanks.
I love the bronze. Historically, I understand not having a date, but getting a watch without a date would be tough for me.
I agree with that.
German is my first language. I got ya ☺️
I see a 42mm A Dial Munster Erbstuck in my future.
How would you compare Laco vs Zenith? And what do you think of the cheaper Lum-Tec Combat B18 or B19? Hope you can share some thoughts.
Hi mark- couple of questions. Does the crown recess further in. I've noticed in your video the crown sticks out more than other videos. Perhaps a feature with the newer model.
And- How is the hand winding feel?
Thanks
Is the bronze version available in 42mm?
Is it worth the money to upgrade from the basic to the next level movement?
Aged Laco originals is pure dope! But a bit overpriced I think. And I could`ve understand it in case if there were oldschool historical Durowe inside, but they don`t resurrect it, so i`ll better spend my monet on something else.
T-shirt high five, sir.
Reminds me of "the Todd" from Scrubs!
Had an Orange Monster with a strapcode super engineer. Cool watch kinda wish I still had it. I’m sure people are into it, but I’d rather patina a watch myself lol
Something with some personality!
This reminds me of the idea of pre ripped jeans!
Yes, they are still popular, aren't they?!
I love the distressed look but hate how it came to be that way. Just being honest.
This model Laco is great but paying about twice as much for a fake beat up version is absurd!
I get your point.
I agree, Mike. I love my Friedrichshafen but would never pay the tab for an artificially "vintaged" Erbstuck. They're beautiful, though, just too rich for my blood.

Laco o iwc ?
You can't compare, they don't make the same thing any more
If you can get Laco to make a 42mm bronze, I'd buy one in a heartbeat. 42mm is as big as I can go on my 7 1/4" wrist.
I agree there.
A dream watch for me. I prefer the type A type. Good review!
Thanks for checking it out.
A dial or B dial.... NONE of them are pilots watches, they are ALL navigators watches. The B dial is just a later design.
Hello, sir. Tell me please, do you ship to Russia?
No longer, sorry.
Long Island Watch what a pit. I would like to buy some time pieces from you, I'm afraid to buy fake watches, I trust you only))).
Sorry Marc but I just don't get it. It just seems like a classic case of The Emperor's New Clothes to me. I'll take a Munster and in my hands it'll look "hand distressed" in a year for free.
There's more to it, in my opinion. Look at the dial and hands, how they are aged. It's done with the effect that it's accelerated aging.
I agree with Marc on this. I have a black B-dial Friedrichshafen that I wear very frequently. I don't baby my watches so it has acquired some scuffs and scratches on the case. The crystal , dial, and hands, however, are pristine. A definite contrast to the Erbstuck watches, which genuinely (if falsely) look like they've been around since the '40s.
nice video. The name of the first watch is Erbstück, not Erbstuck. That is german for heirloom.
genau 😉
Thanks! I avoid special characters since keyboards in the USA generally do not have them.
And all this time I've been saying Mark :(
See, now you know!
blue dial best
Quite striking.
personally i dislike artificial aging of any new products including watches or even jeans :D
Well, Erbstück means heirloom and if you want it to look like one from the drawer of your grandfather you need to make it so. 😉
agreed... but that one does look really good to me
CARCK...Marc wit a C..... lol... give that kid $15.00 an hour
:)
