Huey Lewis is one of the most feel good rock n roll artists to ever do it. So underrated. What a voice & his band is SOOOOO GOOD. Harmonies, instrumentals, vocals, beats, combos, & transitions are all elite & top notch. What a group 👏 🙏 👍 💪
In BTTF, when Marty's band is auditioning to play in a Battle Of The Bands at school, they are playing a rock version of "The Power Of Love", and the teacher who stands up with a bullhorn and says the band is "too darn loud", is Huey Lewis. Huey specifically wrote the song for the movie and it was nominated for a Best Original Song Oscar, as well as reaching #1 on the charts.
It kind of makes me wish I had been born just a bit earlier. I was very young when this song came out and the movie came out. For the longest time it was literally the only 80s song that I could stand to listen to. (No worries! I have expanded my preferences tremendously and 80s were one of the best decades for music) But I wish i'd been born earlier so I would have had the opportunity to possibly See this guy in concert because he looks like it would be a lot of fun. He seems to be just the right amount of arrogant....like Tony Stark, or Stephen Strange.
@@natecloe8535 I was 15 years old when BTTF came out...When i saw it at the movies i fell in love with everything to do with that movie...I thought MJ. Fox was the coolest guy ever and Huey Lewis And The News were the best band ever...Saw Huey and the News in 1988 at Wembley Arena and they did not disappoint..They were the first gig i'd ever been to......BTTF is still my fav movie of all time....Edit....When George punched Biff, everyone in the movie theatre went fucking crazy lol.
@triplejazzmusicisall1883 Yeah! That's my favorite version of it. I love the sax solo and also when the other guy (I guess it's Chris Hayes) is going back & forth across the stage pretending to be Marty playing the guitar. The first time I saw that I wasn't sure what was going on. So, I rewound it and heard Huey say "Get back, Marty". Then I got what was going on and laughed 😅 I'm not sure he was a part of the band except for that song. But I could be wrong.
Back to the Future is voted on as the best 80's movie ever. Therefore, by just using simple logic, and since you can't have that movie without this song. It's the best song from the 80's.
That was so fun! Have you guys ever seen the Back to the Future movies? They are a hoot. Love that song, makes me wish I was in that club watching them live! Those were the days. Love seeing Shawn clapping along, great enthusiasm brought joy to my heart as always.
Huey Lewis & The News we’re popular, they did studio & especially live video performances & their songs were used in movies! This band always gets people moving & grooving 😊
Looking back, I realize that Huey Lewis was kinda an exception among ‘80s singers. A frontman for a mainstream pop-rock band with a low, baritone singing voice. Higher voices were much more the norm at the time, but Huey still managed to find success with his lower notes.
I loved watching this with you two! Thanks for doing this and appreciating them so much! These guys are my favorite band ever! I saw them in 1991. Best two hours of my life so far! No joke. Check out more of their great performances and videos.
Met him at the tire shop I was working at in the late 80s such a cool guy. Then saw him years later at the Mercedes dealership I was working at and he remembered me, well at least he said he did😂 in real real life he still wears old Levi’s jeans and t shirts
You must check out “Hip to be Square” by Huey Lewis and this song was featured in the movie American Psycho and the video is showing a specific scene from the movie where the actor plays the song “Hip To Be Square”
This song was played in the 1985 movie Back to the Future a few times and the singer Huey Lewis had a small part in the movie. That's why you keep seeing the silver Dolorean car at the beginning of the movie. The car is a time machine in the movie. They accidentally go back in time to 1955 and have to try to get Back to the Future 1985. There's actually a trilogy. The second movie they go 2015 (movie was made in 1989. The third one they go waaay back in time to the old west 1885. ZZ Top has a cameo appearance when the band plays.
Huey also is in some episodes of hot in Cleveland that i laughed so hard that i cried. You might recognize him from the we are the world video. He sings after Michael Jackson with Cyndi Lauper and Kim Carnes
Hi i think you would love the Nolands sisters, I'm in the mood for dancing and Gotta pull my self together. Best regards Arna from Iceland. Love your channel and your reactions.
If you think about it, with actual physics, when doc time traveled it would be a different universe right? So he could possibly make it to one where they made a movie about him😂if it could happen it would
Yes, Back to the Future. This song cuts in at a pivotal moment in the film. It's unforgettable. The film really made their career - they contributed three songs that became major hits.
Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.
I just knew I would not be able to get through this, Love the song but you two simply ruined it. I wjsh you would be quiet and then tell us what you think about the song when it is over. But no you couldn't do that so thumbs down to you.

Nice to see someone else notice that 😂

Ahh, that brings me back to my teenage year. Nothing like the 80s music. ❤
That simple keyboard part just keeps this song so joyful!
I Love Huey's voice!! These guys are Awesome!!
Love The News since the 80s. Seen Huey in concert a few times and these guys have never lost it❤
I'd like to hear Huey Lewis & The News' other song from Back To The Future "Back In Time".
@triplejazzmusicisall1883 Yeah! That's my favorite version of it. The 80's was without a doubt one of THE greatest decades ever!!!🤘🤘🤘
I think it’s THE greatest decade ever.
I loved this!! As per usual!!! ❤❤❤
Huey Lewis and the News made so many great songs. Thank you for reacting to this one. ✌️😎
Back to the Future is voted on as the best 80's movie ever. Therefore, by just using simple logic, and since you can't have that movie without this song. It's the best song from the 80's.
You guys are so fun
This was a massive hit for them.
That was so fun! Have you guys ever seen the Back to the Future movies? They are a hoot. Love that song, makes me wish I was in that club watching them live! Those were the days. Love seeing Shawn clapping along, great enthusiasm brought joy to my heart as always.
Their acapella song, "It's Alright" was one of my favorites growing up
Check out the aong (if you havent already), We're not here for a long time, We're here for a good time. Excellent song

Huey Lewis & The News we’re popular, they did studio & especially live video performances & their songs were used in movies! This band always gets people moving & grooving 😊
I saw Huey Lewis and News in 2012. They opened for Joe Cocker.
It was a concert I'll never forget.
This song & "Heart of Rock & Roll" are among my favorites from this band
Power of love!!! Love Huey Lewis and the News!!! ❤❤LIVE AT 25 album is great!!
Such a great song. My favorite line in the song : "The power of love will keep you home at night." Absolute truth. Great reaction.
The 70's are my favorite decade for music, but the 80's were great too. Huey Lewis had a string of hits in the mid 80's. Great band!
Huey Lewis and the News - Couple Days Off!
That guitar solo by the criminally underated Chris Hayes
Looking back, I realize that Huey Lewis was kinda an exception among ‘80s singers. A frontman for a mainstream pop-rock band with a low, baritone singing voice. Higher voices were much more the norm at the time, but Huey still managed to find success with his lower notes.
Classic 80s. Even the unofficial anthem of the movie Back To The Future
Damn! What a trip thru the 80's. Great tune...Great movie!!!
Now Stuck with you!
BTTF is my all time favorite movie. Its just perfect throughout and the music and score add to that.

They have never seen this Movie.... Wow!!! I think I saw it 4 times in Theaters... LOL
I believe Christopher Lloyd, who played Doc in "Back To The Future", was the one driving the delorean in the video.
Back to the Future is my favorite time travel trilogy ever made.
❤ you need to see the movies back to the future 1,2,and 3!!!❤❤
You must check out “Hip to be Square” by Huey Lewis and this song was featured in the movie American Psycho and the video is showing a specific scene from the movie where the actor plays the song “Hip To Be Square”

Studio version of course but Huey and The News are a great live band!

Back to the future
Offff the Hoooook 🤩
Yes, Back to the Future. This song cuts in at a pivotal moment in the film. It's unforgettable. The film really made their career - they contributed three songs that became major hits.
They had plenty of hits over several years before Back to the Future. They helped draw people to the movie and make it a hit.
❤
Good stuff!
You need to react to more 80's pop and rock music!
Love the tunes just subbed
If you haven't watched "Back to the future", you really need to.
Love this band! Have you listened to Joe Cocker ?
You need to watch the Back to the Future trilogy, by the sound of the way you reacted to it, doesn't seem like you have.
Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. Doc I need ur help getting back to the year 1985
I go find out if my cancer is back
