Fun fact Huey Lewis is the man who tells Marty McFly that his music is too darn loud in Back to the Future. The song he was paying was a Huey Lewis song. 😊
My favourite movie of all time is Back To The Future and I'm a time travel Sci Fi geek who first saw it as a teenager in the eighties. Despite all this I only found out about Huey Lewis playing the part you are referring too only a few months ago through a UA-cam video although I've always known that he sung the movie's main song" The Power Of Love"DOH!!🤪
Huey Lewis and the news were sort of unicorns. While other bands were following the crowd playing hard rock and heavy metal In flamboyant costumes, hair, and make up, HL&N came out clean-shaven in suits and singing wholesome, lighthearted, throwback, message music. It was refreshing, and it’s what made them stand out from the crowd. And it didn’t hurt that they were also great musicians and singers.
Is it just me or is Huey Lewis & The News extremely, ridiculously UNDERRATED. They are one of the Greatest Bands I've ever heard. This is one of their best songs ever. As far as I'm concerned, Like Daryl Hall & John Oates, Huey Lewis & The News never did a bad song. Jay and Amber already reacted to "The Power Of Love", "The Heart Of Rock N' Roll" and "I Want A New Drug" before this one. Jay & Amber need to react to "Hip To Be Square" next!
They are awesome. They were also never underrated. They were one of the biggest bands of their era, with their hilarious videos constantly in rotation on both MTV & VH1.
So funny! That's our ringtone, too! We've only been together for 31 years so you've got us beat! We tell our kids they owe their existence to this band
Love me some Huey. I think this makes five of their songs you've done... but there are so many more! You can still do "Workin' For a Livin'", "Heart and Soul", "If This Is It", "Hip To Be Square", "Jacob's Ladder", "Perfect World", and "I Know What I Like".
Huey Lewis & his band were the definition of a polished group, they were so tight together but also gave themselves space to be spontaneous. That's the mark of a truly great band. My wife works in San Diego at a live theater. Last year they put on Heart of Rock n roll a play that Huey help direct. She actually got to work with him for 6 weeks. He would go back stage joke around with the staff talk to everyone. Just over all a super super cool guy. I have pretty much all of his work . I think my personal favorites would be. Naturally , Bad is Bad , do you believe in love and working for a living.
“Naturally” is my favorite song of theirs. “Doing It All for My Baby” is my favorite video. Got to see them at a small venue in the early 90s. Was able to meet them. The band was ok, but Huey was really sweet to this shy gal. There were hottie groupies hanging off the band members, taking the band’s attention. But, Huey was all about the real fans. He gave his time and hammed it up, being silly.
Such a romantic, catchy song, eh? I love it, and that Hammond Organ was really gettin' down! Some moe HL&TN: Hip To Be Square, Trouble In Paradise, Doin' It All For My Baby, Do You Believe In Love?, It's Alright, Perfect World, Finally Found a Home, Heart And Soul, (lots more...)

Just so you know, their song "The Power Of Love" was in the movie Back To The Future, which you reacted to; and the music teacher that told Marty that he was just too loud was Huey Lewis himself. Their best song was "This Is It".
More Huey: "Workin' for a Living" goes at a breakneck pace and has a killer harmonica solo; "Doing It All for My Baby" "If This Is It" "Hip to Be Square" "Heart and Soul"
Huey and his band had some real rockers. While not my favorite band, the best concert I ever saw was in a Dallas club with a few hundred folks - Huey and the News. Totally awesome, brought the house down. Try the Power of Love, I Want a New Drug, or Hip to be Square.
You guys STILL need to check out Elvis's 68 comeback special!! The black suit sit-down jam session!! SO many to choose from!! One night with you, trying to get to you, Lawdy miss Clawdy , you have NEVER EVER seen Elvis like this!!!
J and Amber, glad you love another San Francisco Bay band!! I hope you two will do *Hip To Be Square* next!! I don't believe you've done that one yet. Glad to see you both smiling ear to ear on this one!! 😀 Much love and respect to you! @RobSquadReactions
Like me Huey is a very big liver of 60s & early 70s soul music so it's a huge influence on his music and his singing. I was in a bar/club in Fairfax, CA watching live blues bands with Joh Lee Hooker, Elvin Bishop and others when who happened to be in the joint but Huey Lewis. He got on stage and played his harmonica for several tunes. It was so amazing just to have that talent come together when you weren't expecting it.
Always a great tune. Huey has such a great selection of amazingly upbeat tunes that make the world feel like a better place after you hear them. Remarkable band. Great reaction. Buckets of Maple Syrup love from Canada ❤️❤️ 🇨🇦 🇨🇦
What a coincidence, I was listening to this song the other day and thought to myself that you two ought to hear it. I knew you would love it! This was my favorite band when I was a kid in the 80s.
I'm surprised that "Mandy" is the only Barry Manilow song you've reacted to so far. He has a catalog of many great songs. They include "I Write The Songs", "Even Now", "Can't Smile Without You", "Weekend In New England", "Daybreak", "Looks Like We Made It", "The Old Songs" , "I Made It Through The Rain" and "Copacabana". Barry Manilow is one of the best.
@@RobSquadReactions Thanks. I'd also like to suggest an artist you have yet to introduce to your channel. He is Neil Sedaka. His classics include "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do", "Calendar Girl", "Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen", "Oh Carol", "Next Door To An Angel", and "Laughter In The Rain". You would definitely love his music.
@@RobSquadReactions how do I get through, I've been requesting more Mr Big, collective soul and newbies (to you) 😁 Level 42, Something about you and Jason Mraz l won't give up 😁❤️
I went to a Barry Manilow concert at the Fox Theater in St. Louis. I was amazed by his show. Loved it and was surprised I loved it. The ticket was a gift and it turned out to be a great gift. 💗
Huey Lewis and The J Geils band were two of the best live bands I ever saw. They had their records and were tight live.. never a sloppy show that I saw. Springsteen is in that category with the E Street band. I never saw Seger live but I would think he was the same.
This is my favorite song from them, second only to "If this is It," a fantastic harmony -filled ballad. For more up-tempo Huey Lewis and the News, you two should DEFINITELY check out "Hip to be Square."
Love, love, love Huey Lewis and the News. I have posted this song to my husband several times over the years on our anniversary. We are coming up on our 52nd Anniversary this weekend. We have sure had our ups and downs but we are very happy to be stuck with each other
I 💕 love that cameo he had in Back to the Future! But my other favorite is when he played the husband in Reba Mcentire's video "Is There Life Out There". He didn't have any vocals, but he gave a great performance as her loving and devoted husband. The song is beautiful, it would make a great pick for Female Friday.😄
It's true Huey Lewis and the news was a band of rock and roll old school music in the 80's. That's why they were so special when they comes out in the 80's. Nobody was expecting that with so many hairy rock bands and pop. I love this band so much.
Working for a Living, and so many more. Huey Lewis has so much talent. Such a fun song and band. One for movie nite he's in Duets, surprisingly fun. Thanks again.
Oh, don't you just love the timeless retro flavor these guys have? And their songs do hold up even after all these years... *It's All Right* is my favorite Huey Lewis tune and I know you'll like it too... Thanks S.W.
Ditto on all the great things everyone is saying about this stellar band. Another fun fact - Huey's female cohort in this video is Keely Shаye Smith, an American journalist, author, television host, actress, producer, and director - oh, and she's also the wife of actor Pierce Brosnan!
Another song I have loved ever since I first heard it! Also my favorite song by this band. Now that it is November 1st, I want to be the first to recommend some AMAZING holiday songs that you probably never heard before. The first song I recommend for the holidays: Christmas Is The Time To Say "I Love You" by Billy Squier.
For me Huey Lewis & the News will always be the sounds of a hot summer day at the lake. Were your friends and every one around (new friends) just hangs out listening to Huey barbequing swimming and enjoying summer.
You give us what we want. I wanna give you what you want. A guitar for him, and a sax for her. David A. Stewart "Lily Was Here" ft Candy Dulfer. Enjoy.
You're a phony.. I am a subscribe to the real Rob Squad Reactions. To the real Rob Squad, I'm the one trying to send you down another rabbit hole starting with Melanie's Lay Down w Edwin Hawkins Singers Netherlands 1970.

More Huey: "Workin' for a Living" goes at a breakneck pace and has a killer harmonica solo; "Doing It All for My Baby" "If This Is It" "Hip to Be Square" "Heart and Soul"

That was quite brilliant.💘💝💗
Great!! as usual😍🤩🥰
Huey and his band had some real rockers. While not my favorite band, the best concert I ever saw was in a Dallas club with a few hundred folks - Huey and the News. Totally awesome, brought the house down. Try the Power of Love, I Want a New Drug, or Hip to be Square.
L O V E Huey!!!! Power of love is my favorite, but this song is great too!
If you remember the second time you watched " We are the World" you didn't know who he was. He sang just before Cindy Lauper.
Always Love Me some Huey Louis & The News. :) Great Reaction Guys! :)

"There's always one in every relationship". Did Amber just throw Jay under the bus? 😂
"You look marvelous" is from an SNL sketch with Billy Crystal.
You guys STILL need to check out Elvis's 68 comeback special!! The black suit sit-down jam session!! SO many to choose from!! One night with you, trying to get to you, Lawdy miss Clawdy , you have NEVER EVER seen Elvis like this!!!

Love Huey Lewis & the news😉
You two would love Hueys “Working for a Living”
You definitely can’t go wrong with Huey Lewis and The News. So fun and refreshing. Great reaction
Bad Is Bad is a great song by these guys
Amber you nailed it. That’s exactly what the band was about.
J and Amber, glad you love another San Francisco Bay band!! I hope you two will do *Hip To Be Square* next!! I don't believe you've done that one yet. Glad to see you both smiling ear to ear on this one!! 😀
Much love and respect to you!

It’s nice to see younger people staying together instead of running every time things get tough
Always a great tune. Huey has such a great selection of amazingly upbeat tunes that make the world feel like a better place after you hear them. Remarkable band. Great reaction. Buckets of Maple Syrup love from Canada ❤️❤️ 🇨🇦 🇨🇦
Think you and I watch a lot of the same stuff! Must be a 60s Canadian baby ! Lol
@@Nana_Reads I'm actually a 50's baby. Just turned 70. 👍✌️🇨🇦
Huey Lewis and the News....all over the radio when I was a kid!! Great memories!!
Yes, please more Barry Manilow!!!
Could it Be Magic, It's a Miracle, This One's For you, so many more!
His name has been popping up so much lately for suggestions! We will get to him soon
Huey Lewis - Doin' It All For My Baby
This band defines the 80s for sure.they got really famous cuz of the 3 back to the future movies

Shoot I liked them a lot despite back to the future. Power of Love is one more my least loved songs by them due to overplay.

One of my favorite 80’s band
Huey Lewis and The J Geils band were two of the best live bands I ever saw. They had their records and were tight live.. never a sloppy show that I saw. Springsteen is in that category with the E Street band. I never saw Seger live but I would think he was the same.
Huey Lewis and the news are a great band! They had an impressive run in the 80's. Jacob's ladder is one you should play next.

Love Huey Lewis and the News! So happy to listen to them today. 😊
Of all the songs to cover, this is one of the best. This one is second to 'If This Is It".
This is my favorite song from them, second only to "If this is It," a fantastic harmony -filled ballad. For more up-tempo Huey Lewis and the News, you two should DEFINITELY check out "Hip to be Square."

One of my absolute favorite bands and songs. The back-up vocals just push this song over the top for me.
The 80's just hit different than any other music. Grew up on this music. Music can mold you into the person you become. Guess it's true
This was one of my favorite American bands in the eighties! Always upbeat and fun!❤❤
Amber is right . Huey Lewis and the News music was like updated 50s rock n' roll for the 80s
Try their song- heart and soul. It’s awesome
The man told him "Fore" the name of his album.
I have a new appreciation for HL&N. While they play blues they do it with such a clean sound and clean mix.
My husband and I have been together 26 years and I always tell him I'm happy to be stuck with him!❤️
Can we get a petition going to keep this reaction on UA-cam
Was just listening to this song in the car...LOVE this band. You can't help but dance along.
This song & "If This Is It" are my 2 favorite Heuy Lewis & The News songs
Huey takes me to a happy place. xo ^_^
For Veterans Day, Nov 11, you should do his song, Walking on a Thin Line. About Vietnam vets.
And "Goodnight Saigon" by Billy Joel - his tribute to Vietnam veterans. That song will give you chills
To me Huey Lewis was the voice of the 1980's.

I love Huey Lewis & The News. So many great songs that is apart of my childhood.
'Hip to be Sqaure' never fails to put a smile on my face
Oh, don't you just love the timeless retro flavor these guys have? And their songs do hold up even after all these years...
*It's All Right* is my favorite Huey Lewis tune and I know you'll like it too...
Thanks

Ditto on all the great things everyone is saying about this stellar band. Another fun fact - Huey's female cohort in this video is Keely Shаye Smith, an American journalist, author, television host, actress, producer, and director - oh, and she's also the wife of actor Pierce Brosnan!
Another song I have loved ever since I first heard it! Also my favorite song by this band.
Now that it is November 1st, I want to be the first to recommend some AMAZING holiday songs that you probably never heard before. The first song I recommend for the holidays:
Christmas Is The Time To Say "I Love You" by Billy Squier.
Great songs and videos. You can't go wrong with one of their songs.
Enjoy.
