Seriously!?
Is no one going to say something about jay’s t-shirt!!??
“Why do you keep calling me Calvin?”
My favourite movie Trilogy! Love his song!
OMG!! So funny! He didn’t even know, how ironic.
That just clicked with me. What a coincidence lol 😆
Cause it's written all over your underwear
Yep i get it
I didn't even notice that. LOL 😂 Thank you for pointing that out.
Still one of the best songs of the 80's. When I hear the opening I see Michael J Fox on a skateboard.
It always brings that scene to mind for me, too!
Spot on, I'm already hanging on the back of the cop car👍
You got that right!,,
Everytime!
Same 😆
Do you remember Huey Lewis played a cameo role in the first movie as a straight laced teacher who said Marty's group was too loud to take part in the competition/concert. I loved that 😄
...while Marty's band was playing the intro to Power of Love.
I'm afraid you're just too darn loud.
Didn't he say they were darin loud.
😉😂
And the guy sitting next to him was Eric Stolz who was originally Martyr McFly. They even filmed quite a few of the movies scenes with him as Marty
And in a deleted scene, as Marty was storming off the stage he says "Whaddya want, Huey Lewis?".
Oh my lord, are you telling me you were NOT wearing that t-shirt on purpose? It was pure coincidence? No way!
"I didn't know this movie was so old!" Oh honey, there you go, making me feel ancient again, LOL.
Lol... I definitely feel old now. My kids saw this movie when it first came out.
Jay, you definitely need to watch it again. All three of them... That's how my kids and I did it... Made it a movie night.
And the shirt!! I'm sure at least one of them were wearing one as we watched...
" Nothing comes between me and my Calvins"(in my best Brooke Shields voice😉)
🤣🤣🤣
Yeah that’s quite a funny coincidence!
More Huey Lewis and the News:
The Heart of Rock n Roll
Hip To Be Square
Working For a Living
Yes the 80s were the Back to The Future days🤭
Also Jacob's Ladder, If this is it
@@paulobrien9572 lf This Is It is a great one I'd forgotten!
also Stuck With You - video
all great songs, Jacob's Ladder too.
Great choices, how about Do You Believe In Love! Another Huey Banger
I've been watching your reactions for quite a while now, and, Sweetie, I think you were born several decades too late - your obvious enjoyment of the instrumentals and vocals to all these old songs says you would have been right at home in the 80's
You nailed it, ducky.
It's in "Back to the Future" 1985.
Love that movie👍👍👍🇭🇲🇭🇲🇭🇲
It was TOO LOUD!
That's a DeLorean, but don't set the flux capacitor to 2020!
@@RayRay-zt7bj you mean “I’m afraid you’re too darn loud, next!”
Best film trilogy ever in my opinion
Jay: Back to the Future was in the 80s? I didn’t know it was that old!
Thanks Jay 😒😂
🤣 felt the same
🤣🤣🤣
Yeah 3 years before I was born one of my favourite film trilogy’s ever
Want to feel older? The entire BTTF franchise takes place in our past.
That was the moment when I realized i was old.
Jovan is a humble legend ,we appreciate your wonderment
Speaking of 'Back to the Future'... Elsa Raven who played the "Save the Clock Tower!" Lady passed away this week... She was 91 years old. 💗🕛
The 80’s, GREAT time to be a teenager and young adult!!! Love this song!!!
My favorite is "If This Is IT." It really showcases his voice.
I saw these guys in concert in the 80’s..they were really good..totally enjoyed them
I've seen Huey Lewis & The News in concert 5 times. Every time they play anywhere close.... I go. It's perfection every time.
One of the best bands of the 80s, and mine! Lol Back to the future was in the 80s, there were 3 of them. God I miss the 80s!
Jay I was bumping it in 1985 and still bumping it in 2020🔥❤️
My other favorites from them: "Heart of Rock and Roll", "If This Is It", "Jacob's Ladder" and "Hip To Be Square"
And back in time that solo is sweeettt
Walking on a Thin Line
Nominated for an Oscar for Best Song - one of their biggest hits. Just great - underrated group.
Saw them in Toronto in the 80's. Those horns blasted !
If my calculations are correct, when this baby hits 88 miles per hour you’re going to see some serious $&@!
You mean this sucker is nuclear
And this is how pinball nearly killed Doc Brown.
That's heavy...
@@DominionStarcrye Weight has nothing to do with it! 😁
Shit....ffs just say it
The Power of Love was a pretty big hit in the 80s. "Back to the Future" was riding high and then they had 2 sequels to the movie, Back to the Future II and Back to the Future III that were released within 6 months of each other.
Other good songs: Workin For a Living, Heart and Soul, The Heart of Rock and Roll, Bad is Bad, If This is It, Back in Time and Hip To Be Square.
Hey, were you in the Back To The Future movie! Calvin Klein was in Back To The Future! Look at your shirt! Michael J. Fox called himself Calvin Klein in the movie!
One of my favorite songs from my favorite movie!
Huey has a great voice . Realized how good at some kind of awards show. His song blew me away. I think it was "The Heart of Rock and Roll."
This movie was one of the biggest hits of the 80's as was the song. And - omg - your t-shirt! Is that a coincidence? Too funny!
I swear man. Every time I hear them I am reminded how great they really were. Genius songwriting, melody crafting, and Huey had the power and tone in his vocal range to kill it. Cheers!
Back To The Future was the biggest movie of the summer of 1985. Subsequently, The Power Of Love was the bands first #1 song in the U.S. Huey himself had a cameo in the movie. Another song of theirs from the movie soundtrack called "Back In Time" plays during the opening credits. The Power Of Love appears in the first and third parts of the movie.
Love Huey Lewis and the News and they are even better Live" They were my very first concert in the 80's.
1:07 DUDE! It's Back to the Future, Huey Lewis was on the soundtrack, he was also in the movie when Marty is auditioning for the battle of the bands, you're even wearing a Calvin Klein t-shirt! Which is what his mom calls him when he goes back to 1955, she thought it was his name because it was on his boxer shorts.
If you liked this you should check out Level 42 which were a similar band from the UK around the same time. "Something about you" and "Lessons in Love" being their best known songs.
Running in the family too please.

I miss the 80's so much now 😍
Keep exploring the '80's Jayvee!...Best decade outside the '50's!...Go get 'em brother!
HUEY LEWIS & THE NEWS,
ONE OF THE BEST AMERICAN BANDS IN HISTORY ☝🔝🔝☝
Yeh JV, this was a jam by Huey and the news! Huey Lewis is one of the singers in the USA for Africa.
This song was on the radio in the summer of 1985! It truly emblemizes the feeling of that amazing decade! I loved your reaction to this amazing band. If you want another great band...more up North here in Canada. Doug and the Slugs had many a great hit that even made radio play. They just never had the desire to impress or venture down to the USA.
the movie, the song, the decade and 14 years old - what a blast! XX
Yesss! Huey Lewis & The News always kept it live! In the 80s. These were the best time's back in the day, just dancing, radios, & boomboxes cranked to the max to all that 80s music. #80s4life 💃❤
Hi from the UK, I remember Huey and all his music , so many songs , great voice , he was great considering he had really bad hearing , it was amazing how he coped , LEGEND 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗 .
They were so talented! Even my Dad, a pianist, loved them in the 80’s. Lol
Notice you love when groups sing in harmony's. You need to listen to The Eagles. They are incredible.
The Eagles don't allow reactions to their songs on UA-cam. They get blocked instantly. He has reacted to them, just not on UA-cam.
@@louisef1861 oh. Didn't know that.
Beatles has far better harmonies than eagles, Eagles are so bland yuk
He was very popular in the 80's The Heart of Rock and Roll is a good next song! Love the reaction!!👍♥️
However... money, fame, and a credit card may help!
Jovaughn, your next Huey Lewis song should be "If This Is It". It's got some doo-wop in it, very different... but also a big hit.
I remember seeing Huey Lewis & The News play at a bar when they first came out and there one big hit was 'Working For A Living"! Then they got real big!
My favorite group , I love Huey Lewis and the News !! Great Band with great harmonies !!
Isn’t it ironic you’re wearing a Calvin Klein t-shirt?
lmao, it is
😂
lol I still don't get it
Marty Mcfly, in the movie, pretends his name is calvin klein when he ends up in the 50's haha
@@JayveeTV me either dude😅
Huey is one of the best male vocalists ever, combined with an amazing band it’s no wonder why they are one of the most successful bands ever.
Back To the Future came out in 1985, my Senior Year of High School! More Hewey Louis songs to listen to: Back In Time, Do You Believe In Love, Heart & Soul, I Want A New Drug, Sometimes Bad Is Bad, Happy To Be Stuck With You, The Heart of Rock & Roll, Working For Living, If This Is It, Hip To Be Square. Jacobs Ladder.
i love Hueys voice ...
Huey Lewis is the artist who kind of led me on the path that you are walking now: Discovering fantastic songs of the past. When I was 13 or 14 I only listened to Hardcore Techno and stuff like this. However from time to time you would hear something on the radio and then record it on cassette when you liked it. It was „Power of Love“ and „Hip to be square“ which made me open up for music of the past. Back then I didn’t even know these songs were from the same artist. And ever since then I learned to love and appreciate good music, no matter from which decade.
If you remember when Marty auditioned for the show at school, this was the song he was playing.
Yes and one of the judges was actually Huey Lewis!
The heart of rock n 'roll is in Cleveland. 👌
Huey Lewis and the News was huge in the 80's. The production is really cool. The wall of sound.
Quintessential 80s song! Love it!
I saw them in concert in the 80s, and they opened with this song.......it was perfect!!!
This is one of my favorite songs. Every time I hear it I’m just ready to dance and enjoy life.
THE POWER OF LOVE was the theme song for BACK TO THE FUTURE whih came out in 1985
One of my top favorite bands from the 80s
Seen them in concert twice . They’re a good band . Listen to the heart of rock n roll .
Back To The Future Is one of my favorite trilogies ever
A month or so ago my hubby and I put on the “best of” playlist on Spotify on a whim and every song, we we’re like, OH YEAH this one, I love it...oh right this one too, love it...point is, so many great songs that we loved and knew all the words to but had forgotten how great Huey Lewis and the news were /are🙌. Thanks for taking us “Back in time”💕
Yes it was from the 80's!!!!! Fantastic Huey Lewis, just GREAT!! I was in my 20's!!!
I saw Huey Lewis and the News 30 years after the 80’s, at a winery outdoor venue,… He was still just as entertaining and had all the vocals! No one sat in their seats the entire set, we were all dancing like maniacs!
Try Huey Lewis’ “Heart and Soul”. That’s my favorite of their songs.
Boy this brings back memories
Huey Lewis and the News had a lot of hits. Definitely would recommend "If This Is It", "The Heart of Rock and Roll", and "Do You Believe In Love".
Love watching people's reactions when they listen to Huey Lewis and the News. Love their music and hooked forever! 😂🎉
Love some Huey. Has such a great voice. Rocked to it hard in the 80s.
This song and your shirt are right on time! I continue to be reminded of how much I miss the 80s 😍
Back to the Future man. it was insanely popular in the 80s! i remember when it came out! lol
Didn't know Back to the future was that old..... we have passed "the future" lol
Jay should have been born in the Disco 80's.
I love Huey Lewis. 😍
What a song!!!!!
Huey and his band were huge in the 80's, and yes "Back to the future" was in the mid 80's....and that was huge too. The 80's were amazing. Music, movies, tv.....so much better than now.
Huey had a cameo at the very beginning of Back to the Future, as a talent show judge. About twenty years later he starred opposite Gwyneth Paltrow in Duets. He played her father who followed karaoke contests across the country. It was the last movie directed by Bruce Paltrow, Gwyneth’s father. She and Huey reached #1 with a remake of “Cruisin’.”
Nice reaction Jovaughn! 👍
It’s impossible not to love Huey Lewis & The News!!! And Back to the Future
The Power of Love was released in 1985 on the soundtrack for Back to the Future and also in the European, Australian and Japanese releases of the album Fore!
The song hit #1 in Australia, Canada, Japan and it even hit #1 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
For the album Bob and Larry Sing the 80’s, the song was covered by the characters from VeggieTales.
Cant go wrong with Huey and The News. A rocking good band who, as I hear it, churned so tightly because they played together for years before hitting big. Lots of fun live.
Huey Lewis had a neat accapella song called Naturally that was kind of fun
They were so great in concert, BTW. Really fun and legitimate musicians who could PLAY!
"Tougher than diamonds and stronger than steel" is one of the best lines ever! I I always get goosebumps from that one.
Stronger and harder than a bad girl's dream 😆😆😜😜
I remember when this video came out on MTV and my older sister took me to see this first film good times
"If this is it" and "stuck with you" are greats by him.
My two faves, too. Well mentioned!
Don’t forget back in time
Huey Lewis was also singing in USA for AFRICA song.
This song has the feel of old time rock n roll, which is SO much fun!
Heart of Rock and Roll
Working for a Living
If This is It
I Know What I Like
Love Huey Lewis and the News! Saw them back in the 80s (actually Stevie Ray Vaughn opened for them) It was AWESOME!! They got together for the encore and it was legendary!
YESSSS one of my favorite songs from a movie!!! I LOVE HUEY!!! They have sooo many hits!! Love that voice!! THANK YOU!!!
Calvin Klein was such a sought-after brand in the day! Brooke Shields: “Nothing comes between me and my Calvins.” Jay probably doesn’t know Brooke Shields either. I’m feeling very old tonight.
Many of us are feeling that way since Brooke Shields is 55 years old now. Born in 1965.
Its ok. I feel old myself sometimes. Especially when the weather changes. But those were such wonderful days rock on 🤘
Im 77
Huey Lewis & The News are fabulous!!! Listen to more of their HITS!
I remember when this song first came out. I really enjoyed hearing it frequently on my way to work and back. The beat of it was just so infectious.
There are 3 BTTF MOVIES. The 1st one celebrated its 35th anniversary recently. And I find it funny that Jovaughn is wearing "Calvin Klein" which is the alias that Michael J Fox's character, Marty used when he went back to 1955. What a coincidence!!!
What I liked about the group was how they meshed between the solid band, whether they were just on instruments or adding vocals, and Mr. Lewis’ outstanding rough vocals.
This song was released as a single by Huey Lewis & the News, slightly before the opening of the movie BACK TO THE FUTURE in the summer of 1985. He later said he was asked to write, and sing, a hit song for this upcoming movie starring Michael J. Fox (no pressure), but he was only given the title of the movie, and never previewed any of the scenes. The song became a huge hit even before the movie was released, and was in heavy rotation on all of the pop radio stations around the country, creating tremendous anticipation for the movie, which obviously became a monster hit as well. This song, and the movie, were simultaneously #1 on the US billboard charts and US box office for a very long time.
If you haven't seen Back to the Future yet... highly recommend. The song was written for the movie. Great choice 👌
After 35 years, this song STILL does it! It's just such an incredibly fun song. And PLEASE be sure to watch the first "Back to the Future." That's the one that has THIS song in it. Also...thank you SO MUCH for playing this, Jay! I appreciate it! FABULOUS video! This is one that I'm going to save for when I'm feeling down, so that I can not only have some wonderful music to lift me back up, but to be able to smile at your AWESOME reaction! You're the BEST, Bro!
I’m not sure what I love better...this song or your reaction to it. ❤️
Love them! I used to watch them sing the national anthem at the SF 49 er games as a kid.
Huey Lewis & the News were a great bar band from the Bay Area who made it big. He had a lot of fun, & seemed to be at every big sporting event in the 80’s & 90’s. Great music & memories.
The shirt is hilarious!!!!
