    One thing id be careful with is nopox. its meant for a system with skimmer and the idea is to feed bacteria that will consume it along with no3 and po4 and then you skim them off with the skimmer set on vet skimming. thats how it is supposed to work but i can see it used to just keep a healthy population of bacterias but in my experience cyano love nopox :D

    I set up my Chaeto like yours and I’ve had a lot is success with running when the display lights off. In small tanks the pH swing is more noticeable and the chaeto seems to grow faster at night

    • @AquaSplendor

      Yup, a good idea for keeping the ph stable.
      For some reason in 2 of my aquarium, the ph doesn't change much, really weird. Big 8.0, but maybe my salifert test kit is not precise enough

    sorry the video could’ve been trimmed down a bit and some of the products you used counteract each other. i am currently dealing with cyanobacteria in an explosion as i write this, but my approach will be somewhat the same & different than yours. how is this tank doing now? please be honest

      I don't know how to not be lol.
      Tank is doing great, run on it's own, I don't do too much, leave it alone.
      But you are probably right on some aspects of my video that can be counteracted/get worst/get better.
      Honestly, the best thing is simply to siphon the patch for a while until it stops, nature finds a way to get balanced :)

    I'm having the worst cyano outbreak. Water changes every couple of days siphoning and blowing the rocks carbon and refugium. Changing filter pads each water change. Nitrates and phosphates undetectable and I still can't get rid of it. Chemi clean didnt wipe it out. When as far as some hydrogen peroxide for a day or two but that pissed off my corals and I stopped immediately. I feed every other day. No idea how to get rid of it. I'm at my whit's end haha. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Don’t feel bad about losing fish with the nopox I’ve lost several fish while using it, I found it’s best to dose in fractions. So if you are dosing 2 ml a day. Dose about .25 ml 4 times a day and that greatly helps with making sure there is enough oxygen in your tank.

  • @meakin2424
    @meakin2424 3 роки тому

    I’m fairly confident that you shouldn’t use NoPox if you don’t have a skimmer. It’s carbon dosing which increases bacterial load and lowers oxygen level. The skimmer than removes bacteria.
