Yep, super video! Now I'm so ready to start my own nano "haircut!" You should consider using a 5 gallon jug "always on" water change. That where you can use it little fishies 5 gallon salt packets and just mix your salt water and swap out the jug and it will continue your water changes and won't mess up anything in your tank. I can literally do a water change in under 4 minutes. Most of the time is just mixing the water and the salt but in fact that's not even necessary based on the fact that you're only moving a tiny bit of the water into your tank at any given time.
Here's a video: ua-cam.com/video/Ob3HTGZr9ZQ/v-deo.html You won't need the heater because you already have one in your sump. You can cut a bulkhead in your sump or do a siphon overflow and use an Apex Pmup pump which works really well.
You mean a continuous water change? Since couple months now I always have my bucket of saltwater that I mix in advance. Doing the water change isn't that long (around 5min?) the mixing I just let the pump for a while and once I feel like it I remove the pump and clean it (tap water...) put the pump back, store the saltwater bucket. I change my habit a little bit (by doing in advance) because I've notice in the past I was waiting for the salt to be fully mix or I was playing with the level of salinity (sometimes I put too much salt) Now think about this I probably should mark the bucket and mark a bowl for the amount of salt it need to be 35ppt... uh.. anyway, I'm lazy.
@@AquaSplendor Yes, it's a fixed volume continuous water change. It just makes it very easy to add a water change or multiple water changes to your system without having to empty the tank and fill it back up. It also provides a great way to add water volume to your tank because now you have five more gallons for everything.
@@ChippWalters Yeeaahh, I've been considering that avenue, but it didn't fit the phylosophy of my build, wanted to show something that doesn't have much equipment. My other issue is to put line around my appartment,... yeah, I still think about it time to time. I must admit that I love to remove big nasty chunk of water. Never know, maybe one day :)

Beautiful reef tank, I'm upgrading from my 125 gallon tank to an 180 gallon tank. I want to do an island aquascape and use a minimum amount of corals to allow them to grow to full sized colonies. Thanks and love your videos
That's torture! lol, I'm not that patient sometimes. I think even that Zoa I covered with the F product was still alive, but I cleaned one time I scratch a bit to get the stuff out when I was doing the water change.
I scraped the back of my tank and pushed my hand pretty har against a large zoa colony. I felt a little burn and went straight away to wash my hand. But it blister the whole area took many months to heal and the skin is still dark in that area over a year later. I have touched it many times before by accident without incident.
@@78matt oh jeez... That's yet another way to go wrong with them. Good thing it wasn't as bad as the others. We really need to have a regularly updated compilation of these reports so we can better protect ourselves
I've got a ton of tube worms in my sand bed any suggestions also some sharp things growing I think maybe vermetid snail 🐌 I've had my tank for 5 years and I just started noticing them one day

The first coral I propagated was GSP. I bought two frags of a nice looking GSP and sandwiched a bare plug between them. I think the next one I will do is Leptosaris as I could just use a razor to slice me a little piece. I've been thinking about taking a Dremel to a Chalice for a while but it seems a little more intermediate.
This isn't about fragging but will help you with aiptasia. Identify the aiptasia position. Heat a blunt hypodermic needle over a cigarette lighter until it has a lovely glow. Pull the rock out of the water and rub the needle over the aiptasia position. I've used this method for 20 years and it works 100% its very accurate and the aiptasia does not spread.

I will definitly try your method one day, just to hear the sound of cry/burn, like a omelette on the morning lol

how do you get all that frag glue off of your fingers?
I take a shower every day lol and probably wash my hand 4-5 time a day
The only part I hate is on the nail, that usually last longer
Be careful when fragging zoas. There are reefers who have been sent to the emergency room due to their toxins
