Was going to comment the same thing till I read your comment. Nice to see Vicky doing this show even after all these years. I hate petrol but I miss the sound, even if it is fake would love for it to be piped in. It's always been how we assess engine and speed when taking corners. Also i just miss the sound for my own personal pleasure, soundtrack of the drive.

No tesla can produce the sound and mighty roar of f.ex. a V8 engine.
I have owned a M3 for 6 weeks (Australia). It is an amazing car, and I only have the cheapest version. Literally kills every other car in its class for its price range. There is no comparison. I can't ever imagine going back to ICE cars ever again.

@Bernd DasBrot I never had more fun in a car then in my model 3. Everytime I put my foot down it draws a smile on my face :-D. And whenever I'm in boring traffic I just switch on autopilot and relax.

Kevin Tieman what Otter Cars die you own which you compare it to? I can Imagine That the initial punch is fun, but Themen the Power just decreases which is a Problem for me as an autobahn driver. I also enjoy autopilotstuff, but other companies have These Features, too

I never arm wrestled my dad, but I've got one massive hulking uncle who destroyed me all through high school when I thought I was strong. I came back from the military, having worked out for a little while, 25 pounds more massive. I still couldn't come close, but I did make him put in some effort, finally. He must be 60 years old now, still huge, and I probably still can't beat him. Typical cornfed Alabama uncle.
@Jonas Jonaitis I'd be curious to know what you believe are "real conditions" for driving. Isn't "initial start" the fun part and 90% of the useable uses cases you can push a car in the real world? I would believe this applies to quickly coming out of a corner in a race track. What is more important than lightning quick response time and acceleration in the real world for fun and for racing on a track with proper cornering (ex: not Nascar).?
Tbh comparing 0-60 times in an AWD car vs a RWD car is pretty dumb, electric or not. The C63 will pull HARD after 100 on the Model 3.

Ramon Zarat This all might be true, but I think she actually made the point that the Performance Model 3 gives comparable performance to ICE cars that are much more expensive and dirty like that tuned AMG Merc. I don’t think they were trying to be unfair at all.
Its starts to get annoying to have tesla fans under every car review video, asking state of charge, software version etc. After reading so many of these i'm starting to lose interest in the model3 slowly, seems like it has to be on track mode, fully charged, not too cold and not too hot weather, batteries already warmed up and so on to make a capable track time. Meanwhile the merc just does a good time anytime you put it in sport mode and turn off the ESP which takes like 5 seconds lol

Time to accept that the Tesla is now the new Beast in the automotive world matching and sometimes exceeding the worlds's oldest and best auto manufacturer....and they're just getting started.

@@matthewp9015 Nice thump up! But you can simply check the numberplate in the link I gave you, it's NOT the performance version. On top of it you can see the "dual motor" badge on the back of the car.
It’s actually more about the propulsion system than any genius on Tesla’s part. Most serious motoring journalists say it doesn’t handle that well. Even EV fans concede that build quality can be variable. In a couple of years once Mercedes etc have full electric drive trains Tesla will struggle.
zezizarjaars wrong. The Performance gets the ‘dual motor’ badging as well as the red brake calipers. There’s no way they could get such a 0-60 time from a regular M3. The license issue can probably be easily explained...
After owning F80 m3 and M140i picked up my M3P end of September. Haven't looked back. Phenomenal car.
What real world range are you getting?
@@Rascularvideos I haven't really being taking much notice as my wife only does about 25/ 30 miles a day for work. This can use between 10 to 15% of charge depending on weather etc. Just top up every night at home takes about an hour on 7kw charger. Longest run I've done in one go was from the Midlands to Lake District 165 miles from 100% arrived with 38% left. Just drove at normal motorway speeds 10c with light rain on and off. 3 people in car with boot and frunk fully packed. Was happy with that.

It looks like a space beetle, AIN'T environmently friendly, weights far to much and doesn't have an engine. If you have truly owned an F80 M3 and you prefer that hot garbage I'm happy for you, even though I feel sorry for ya. It's actually now in the neighborhood of 500hp with all the updates it's gotten.
And obviously not a single mention of that important fact. This review is already obsolete. And no mention the car was in track mode. We can only assume it was not. And no mention of the SOC either. and look at 1:24, a software update is available! so no 5% power upgrade either! Very poor review. As if they were trying to out compete Low Gear.

The off-centre screen is a little disconcerting when you first drive the Model-3, but once you've driven it for a few days, it is a non-issue, and after a week becomes second-nature. Getting used to the silence, and also learning how to "leverage" the regen braking also takes a few days' driving. If she had the car for 10-14 days, she'd know how to react to its handling, and in all likelihood would push a lap time equal to, or marginally better than that of the Merc.
The self-driving is also something that takes time to get confident about. I travelled from Cambridge to York 2 weekends ago - and 80% of the time the car was driving itself. You soon learn to trust it, and I felt much safer when it was on, from when I was in full control.
But there is so much more to this car - and you only get to appreciate it once you've driven one for a while... A one-day "test drive" simply is not enough time for anyone to discover how nice these Model-3's really are.
If you are keen to experience the Model-3, and want to make a "weekend" of it, you can hire one from evrent for a weekend for £299. Combine this with a fun weekend break to some nice part of the UK and you will be very satisfied that it was money well-spent. Great to learn more about Tesla, if you are serious about getting one for yourself.
Tag Makers Pet Tags facts: I have never seen a fast Tesla on the (European) highway. I had a race with one of them and all I can say is that it was way slower than my sl 63. So I’m not convinced yet. They are quick cars at lower speeds though.

@ciybersal Totally false. We have owned multiple Mercedes. The Tesla Model 3 is a better car in terms of driving dynamics, acceleration, comfort. Build quality is nearly the same.

@@zezizarjaars She SPECIFICALLY says at 1:00 that this IS the Performance model. The rear carbon spoiler, red calipers, and red underscore bar on the badge on the trunk underneath "Dual motor" are proof of that. All those things are exclusive to the Model 3 Performance.
That is, unless they swapped the car in the middle of the "test". That would be an order of magnitude worse that fake news Low Gear.

Bugatti Veyron 8.0 Litre engine.. Corvette C6 Z06 with cams and headers.. Subaru WRX STI's and Mitsubishi EVO's.. SUPRA'S.. to the raw harshness when tuned 4 cylinders kick in, to the smoothness of V6 or inline 6's, to the brutal and badass V8s, to the very sporty and thrilling V10's, to the even more serious V12's, I salute you all.
@@AlexanderPews Just ask the professional drivers. They usually agree about the tyre sounds being more helpful. The sound of a motor doesn't tell you exactly what is needed (a lot time noises change without equal response). Tyre noise lets you know exactly what they are going through and is more important (because it's the things that keep you on the track).

Most don't even try anymore. I had an Audi A7 stop behind my left shoulder instead of being side by side. I drove off gently and then he blew by me at high speed. He KNEW he couldn't win without a trick.

I think Rapid charging can be at the 150 and 350 kw CSS chargers as well. I seen them on You Tube charging at 200kwHrs in Norway.

Have to say that it comes to something when the customers and potential customers of Tesla cars know more about the cars than a car show presenting the Model 3. But unfortunately it's true.

A model 3 (in the UK) can run for 4 hours averaging 70 (hard to *average* 70!) With 59 miles spare, then add 150+ miles in 15 minutes on certain existing chargers. Can you drive 430 miles in the UK in one day? (Realistically?)
If you can, after 3 hours on the second leg, you'll be eating? So an easy 200 miles added in 30(?) Minutes?

Model 3 is no doubt a performance bargain but even Tesla biased reviewers admit they aren’t as fun to drive as cars like the C63s. Interior of a C63s is head and shoulders above a Model 3 thus the higher price.
There is so much more to a good sports car than the 0-60 time.

Model 3 Performance is £52k. Plus £5.8k for Full Self Driving. But EU have rules about how much a Car can turn the steering wheel. So you can't use Full Self Driving in EU. Its nobled to help the German Car Manufacturers. That still puts it £18k cheaper than the Merc, and that's without all those expensive merc options list.
@Bernd DasBrot I have been driving on motorways and country roads with Autopilot on. I've not heard of another manufacturer with all those cameras, radar, and Computer that is anywhere near comparable. But I'm sure you will enlighten us.
It's really cheap to run a "race" that short when comparing an electric car vs a petrol one. At least do a quarter mile.
Yeah that was ridiculous. Watch the top gear race and the tesla still wins at 1/4 mile but merc wins at 1/2 mile. Merc overtook the tesla at about 120 mph
@@jakewoolley9533 The Merc won just by a little and in the top gear race the Model 3 didn't even have the 5% power update then. It was still 450HP, the update would've took it to 475HP and there's an upcoming power update just rolling out now that will push the Model 3 to 500HP.

@@goodreason6462 It was current Tesla Model 3 vs current C63 S at the time they tested (to be fair it's pre-facelift C63 with older 7 speed gearbox, facelift has same power but 9 speed gearbox, don't know how that affects acceleration). It was fair and square.
You are also making predictions that Model 3 with update would be faster, but I am also making prediction if the road was 1 mile long Model 3 wouldn't stand a chance.
Plenty of petrol cars run 1/8 mile dragstrips all the time. Why not show how much better an electric is for daily performance driving, where you aren't accelerating 1/4 mile? It's a fair point I think. She also showed how it handled in that track circuit where the Tesla is wearing tires designed to balance performance and range, while the Merc is on performance tires.

141 MPGe, no oil changes, no oil filter, no intake filter, no fuel filter, no accessories belt, no alternator, no belt driven AC compressor and it's clutch, no timing chain tensioner that could fail, no timing chain or belt of course, no valves making noises......
No emission control systems i.e. no EGR valve, no charcoal canister, no fuel lines, no fuel vapors, no fuel injectors and mixture control systems, no oxygen sensors, no catalytic converter, no need for an hermetic fuel tank, No fuel pump.........
No starter motor, no clutch, no hydraulic torque converter, no automatic transmission computer, no automatic transmission valve control body, almost no brake pads wear, slight more tire life (the single gear smooth drive unit saves tires vs auto or manual transmissions that spin the wheels a tiny bit every time they change gear)

pay £95 a tank for a rewarding and special drive.
Its different, yes. I wouldn't want to change my Model 3 for a V8 as a daily, however, not being able to drive a good sounding car anymore would be horrifying. Thats why i keep a V8 as a weekend car.

I find it hilarious all the Tesla fan boys coming out of their hole the moment there is any criticism towards their brand. Tesla's are awesome, but just accept they aren't the best in every category when tested. Overall yes, Tesla from the Model 3 to the Model S is the best in its class. But there will be areas where cars like the C63s will be better. There is no such thing as a perfect car.
Yeah yeah yeah, we know teslas are fast. I know, I own a Model S P85. But as a former owner of both mercs and bmws i can comfortably tell you that tesla got no chance on the Germans in terms of comfort or sportiness

Have had both model x p100d (as a loaner while my S was in for service) and driven my friend’s model 3 performarnce, but there is just something about the build quality of Tesla that is not up to standards of merc, BMW and Audi. Plus here in Oslo Teslas are so common, they’re basically like the most bought car in Oslo I believe. Anyway, if tesla could up their build quality, comfort, sportiness and in some aspects their looks, they would be awesome.
I agree that Tesla’s interior quality is not quite on the level of Mercedes, BMW, Audi. However it’s technology is better in terms of navigation, speech recognition and auto pilot. The Tesla drive train is also better as in faster and more quiet, both of which makes the car a very comfortable cruiser. The Mercedes and BMW are probably more fun to throw around corners, not so sure about the Audi they were never that much fun. Overall I prefer the Tesla in the Model 3 guise, but I might pick a S-class over a Model S or a E63AMG Wagon perhaps or a M5. Although if I was in that price range I’d probably have a Porsche 992. I prefer driving the Model 3 over a Macan Turbo I drove however.
@@rbkfan200 they have improved their model 3 build quality dramatically over the last few months with more comfortable and supportive seats. This is why I said "newer"
The interior of our Tesla is not as good as our Lexus or BMW interiors. The technology however makes up for it in many ways. The Tesla makes for a more relaxing commute and takes the stress out of driving. I am still always amazed every time I mash the accelerator pedal down.
For her comment 2:38 on taking her eyes off the road to look at the screen in the Tesla.... Your peripheral vision is much better left/right vs up/down. So when you look straight down 20 degrees to see a typical car's display you actually can't see the road above in your upper peripheral that well. Model 3's screen sits up fairly high. So looking to the right (or left in some countries) 20 degrees and only 5 degrees down (where the speed is in the upper corner) you can still see more of the road in your peripheral vision. Try it where you are sitting right now and you'll understand why Tesla had no problem passing this screen off to the regulators as the only display.

Great to see a new review from you Vicki. With a little more practice you can beat the C63s hands down. Love both cars though. I'd have a Model 3 long range for daily driver and a previous NA C/E63 Estate for the weekend with money to spare for a convertible.

Noise is lame once you grow up. Once you get used to wheel noise, you can handle the car even better based on that rather than engine noise.

Shouldn’t the tesla be faster than the Benz around a small technical track?
It has awd, torque from 0 rpm, doesn’t need to shift… So if the (rwd) C63 has beaten it on a small technical course, i am very impressed by the Benz. Also i don't want to have to use a submenu of a display to be able to open the glove box, or to adjust the seat. Those are steps backwards in ease of use in my opinion.
Aloyghi the model 3 is track capable it was still designed to be practical EV for the masses.
from what I've seen. The tesla performance with track mode...is actually pretty damn soft with the suspension. There are upgrades that greatly improve the handling but it is a soft car.

All good :). Tesla's performance models smoke basically all cars. The P900D smokes most supercars and some hypercars. That being said, AMG's are not only about speed. The Merc's luxurious interior coupled with the soul melting sound is what makes them shine. Something no Tesla comes close to having.

@@MusashiSamurai Neither a problem. Keyed: you have the sentry mode. You'll get excellent video of the guy (plenty of vids all over the net to prove it). As for stolen: Almost no Tesla has been stolen that hasn't been retreived almost instantly. Your app always tells you where it is - and if worst comes to wors (e.g. the guy also stole your smartphone)t: one call to Tesla and they can tell you exactly where your car is.

@@dogphlap6749 Because those means of communications are obsolete. With Tesla, you place a service call directly on your Tesla mobile app and then a Tesla service truck shows up at your house or your work to do the repairs.
