  • This week, we’re exploring the question: “What if I’m already enough as I am?” So often in life, we’re looking to the next best thing thinking: “If only I can get that, then I’ll be happy…” But often we find that the issue isn’t that you don’t have something; the real issue is the relationship to what you already have.
Alex Howard is a London-based Therapeutic Coach dedicated to helping break the stigma around mental health and helping people make real, positive changes in their lives. Alex is also the creator of Therapeutic Coaching and founder of The Optimum Health Clinic and Conscious Life.

I too always wonder about ‘going home’. It’s so hard to figure out what the motivation is behind that. Because we can’t go backwards.
    thanks for a great episode!

I got so much from this session. As an ex-pat I feel a strong pull to go back to the UK but I ‘m older and wiser now and know it is an idealised dream. I do have another dream though that I am following through on, still a bit idealised but much more real.

This lady so like me, my DNA is from. Yorkshire and I live in the south, I feel like she does, I had a narcissistic mother and sounds like she did too. She is very honest and open, I like her a lot.

I hope that the 2 of you meet up. I agree with you that you share a lot in common. It sounds like you are further along on your healing path. Good on you. I hope she catches up soon too 🥰.

I have just realised that my inner critic is “SO” not serving me! - From the moment I open my eyes in the morning it starts. I am so weary of it bullying me. You have helped me so much 🙏

I am in the same place as Beverly (my mom's name btw ❤) is in life!!! No close relationships nor kids or family where i live. I am eager to move but finding it very hard to find my way... I am seeking a healthier environment and need to surround myself with easier access to people. I need to do the things that feel hard. Life is short!! Afraid of some of the points made regarding believing the unknown to be the answer. Will continue to become more aware of my inner critic and how these voices affect my daily satisfaction with work and interpersonal relationships.

Loved the music at the end. Very soothing! So much resonated with me. I too realised I need to work on my inner critic and it's OK to just be!

Beverly, you're originally from Huddersfield! I'm a southerner from Margate and I've been living in Slaithwaite, Huddersfield for 16 years. I love watching your sessions with Alex and seeing the work you've done. When you're in Huddersfield, I'd love to meet up!

identifying the inner critic, and how it was introduced [ the myth... ]] from the fact , no matter what i do, or how well i do it, it will never be enough, than, I'm already enough as i am. this one hit a chord. thank you to you both

This was painful to listen to. I moved back to Yorkshire after living in the south for 35 years. It was a massive mistake 😢.

Ah ha moment...maybe just showing up differently at what you already do would shift your happiness & bring joy. Not necessarily the new bright, shiny thing. Thank you for the In Therapy program! And thank you to the participants for sharing your life.

If I'm good enough just the way I am, then why the need for growth?
