Only a matter of time some hot-shot manager is going to look for ways to cut costs, look for efficiencies and and perform a time-study of the entire process.
Man that is a tremendously manual process, I'm surprised they aren't more expensive. Oh, right, Chinese labor. When do you add the Rogue/Titan/Rep/Ivanko/American Barbell name?
Dude to be fair, that looks pretty damn good. And the weights that China is producing are pretty damn high quality these days. But, still. If I am paying $3/lb I want my shit made in the USA.
Find scrap metals with high density (steel preferably), cast them and make your own plates, I was going to make plates with aluminum but its not worth tbh, the sad part is aluminum is light but the good part is it's low melting point 660C and much easier to melt even with average camping fire, while steel is 1500C and requires a proper furnace. that other guy mentioned make plates with concrete, unfortunately it will make a mess and high chance it'll break apart. a good source of metal would be car rims, a lot of people want to get rid of their old rims, so if you can find any, cut it into smaller pieces and cast your own plates ez. average rim weight is +10kg which makes it a sick source of metal to create plates. if you ever made weight plates out of scrap metal by yourself, feel free to share your experience (tips&tricks, things to avoid and exct..)
Iron plates are all you need really. They're cheap and basically indestructible. If you need to prevent fall damage to the floor then there's bumper plates.
This stuff is so high tech that there’s not a plant in America that can make this. Even plain metal dumbbells are so difficult to make that they have to come from China.

So lifting weights is supposed to make you bigger and stronger... these guys make and lift these weights all day long for a work week. How are they not huge!!??
@@SpartanThe300th no even though you eat, rest right, if you don't progressiv overloead, you won't grow bigger and thses guys lifting the same wieght or intensity everyday, that's why they stuck !
Just because you lift things doesn't mean you'll have a good physique. As an example, compare a bodybuilder to a powerlifter. Also these guys here aren't lifting according to form or technique, which is essential to build muscles the right way. Everything has to go together: form, technique, nutrition, progressive overload, and for some even gear.
Fun fact, this is the only person who makes bumper plates and that's why they're so expensive
I was gonna say and that’s why they cost so damn much lol
Sometimes there where two persons!
Lmao

they probably buy them for a few dollars there and sell it for 10 times more
Now i know why i have been waiting 5 months for a set
The cost of a 45 lb plate is insane right now.
I personally want to strangle all the facebook/craigslist sellers right now
A good alternative is old truck brakes, if you know anyone who works in a shope they might have some and they can get up to 30lbs
@@lonewolf604 me too, them fucker buying ti all up and reselling them for double the pricing. I'm still on wait-list looking for plates 🤦
Concrete weight plates are pretty cheap and strong enough (except when you drop them from OHP height)
you can't afford my finest plates traveler

Much respect for the hours of labor involved. Pay the man.
I just wish this was done in the USA.

Well then maybe you should open a factory and recruit college kids to do this
I belive then they would have no incentive to producer.
this is fine work
nice, what brands do you produce for ?
I‘d guess domestic.
Quarantine is rubbing it down
Nice work
You could live here in Brazil, here many people buy to set up their own gym at home. Is it possible to deliver to other countries?

hi Nyobain, it's urethane

How much to make bumper plates in China And sell for a fortune?
I looked up on taobao a Chinese shopping set and a single 20kg bumper plate costs RMB 220 in China. That’s about £25.
Unfortunately our friend donkey trump will increase the tariff more so the price in the US should not go down in a short time
