On the other hand i was so bothered by how they throw those 25 Kilo weights around with no regard for dents and so, damn. But guess they know what they are doing.

I worked in a brick factory in Italy an I can guarantee you it's the same thing. People also have died there for this very reason, but we're talking about glorified Italy and not China. As someone that worked there myself I can tell you you're kinda "obliged" meaning that if you wear all the protection you get bullied by other workers (stupid, I know, but through the years you'll feel it) and there were too many times when you needed to write something down for example and thus you had to take off your big bulky gloves and then put them on again and so on so forth that it just becomes easier to not have them. I can give you many examples... not to say it's right, it's stupid, but this shit happens everywhere, everyday, not only in China.
You are. If I ever owned a gym you can bet I'd only have he rubber coated type. Rubber as apposed to metal is a no brainier. Not to mention the reduced impact when added to a rubberized surface or pad.
@@krane15 Perhaps not such a no brainer if you were to factor in the additional cost of rubber. Each style of plate has its application. Rubber plates are nicer than raw iron but often theres no need to get fancy.
@@eccomi21 yeah thats partially true, you have to work towards the right things. digging holes in the hot son for 12hrs can be considered hard work but ur not providing any value to yourself or to anyone. besides getting some exercise but you can do that anywhere
And I'm going to be an ass and say that you are stating the obvious. It is a frikkin workshop where they forge the weights from the blanks they prepare in the foundry. All that anyone has to do is watch the video, you can clearly see the molds and the whole process 😶
@@c3N3q just for the sake of trying to stretch this out for fun, I would say you are wrong. Excelente trabajo. Siempre tuve curiosidad de saber como se fabrican estos equipos para entrenamiento... Sin duda ahora tengo aún más aprecio por mis discos y mancuernas.💪🏾🔥
You wouldn’t know it, but the technology to make weights is so complicated that we cannot do it in the United States. They can only do it overseas and then ship the weight to us.
So interesting.. Think about all the metal products around us in our everyday lives but few ever think about it or appreciate all that it takes to make it happen..
Thanks, that's cool. Respect for the work. That's something, I never knew every time I picked up one of those, the work that went into it. Thanks again.
I have always loved old iron weights, mine sit outside all yr so I give them a coat of silver or chrome paint every yr or 2, the old Weiders from the 60's/70's get gold on the name and weight for the fancy boy effect lol.
They dont have to if everything was calculated properly, the weight of the metal and the volume of the molds should be more or less the same weight every time.
I want to thank all these factory workers for the gains they brought me over the years. :)
You have no gains lol
You're not strong if your plates weren't made by Wong.
@ gay
next time I go to gym, I will pay much more respect to the equipment for sure, and most of all, watching this gave me even more motivation to workout

only requirement to work there:: rack your weights

Those must be some husky female to lift those 45 lb plates like that all day.
My fear of breaking a plate from dropping it just decreased a million percent.
I never realized how much abuse these plates took before use. Amazing 😂
Same here
how irrational that fear was up until today...
How were you not able to tell that metal doesn't break quick before this video? Wtf

This is a foundry, not a forge.
WOW, you are so knowledgeable
And once they melt the metal in the foundry, what process do they use to make the weights, could you elaborate on that? 🤧
I’m going to be “Pendantic” and say because they seem to be both casting and using pressure you could argue it is both a foundry and a forge
