I carry absolutely every day. I pocket carry quite a bit and it takes dedicated practice to become proficient. If a person picks up an average holster and doesn't practice with it results when the weapon is needed are going to be very inconsistent and those with a pocket carried gun more so than others. You may see a lot of wiggling around before the gun is presented. I never wear shorts even in the summer so no problem with the soft pocket and no belt for me. Happy to hear the get out of danger if you can comment. I think it's great that as a representative of us shooters you show that most of us don't go looking for an excuse to be in a gun fight. It's purely a defensive weapon unless you're in law enforcement
This episode was like watching one of the ‘90’s gun magazine articles jump off the page in real life. This is the sort of thing Mas, Ross and Taffin used to write about that I found so interesting. BRAVO good sir!
@ Better. Lol. Walked into my local gun store to leave with a 43x or P365. After almost buying the Sig, I was handed the Reflex. SOLD. Internal hammer fired and pulls a consistent 3.14lbs. Feels like a $200.00 Timney trigger. POA/POI dead on. I donnotice that the thin grip had me occasionally pulling left. Talon stick on grips solved that. New sub here. Great content!
First.. Don't wear gym clothes outside of the gym. If you are using kydex pocket holster make sure it has a thumb push off. Make sure you're able to pull your "open fist" out of your pocket. Practice.
Been pocket carrying for most of my CC time. The ruger lcp and now the max is the most often used tool. A proper holster is a MUST. I use the holster that came with it as it covers the trigger well, has space for my second finger to flick the holster leaving it in my pocket and my grip is already set. Same goes for the G19 or G26. A proper holster (Uncle Bucks with the cheap belt clip removed) is a must. Space for the finger to push off and the material has enough friction to stay in the pocket. I have yet to have found a kydex holster I've liked for any of these. Now if I could just figure out a way to pocket carry my 1911... 😉😆
I also PC often, I try and make up any draw delay by having a grip on the gun if I feel threatened or want a quicker draw. If you want to increase your draw by 50% start the draw with your hand on the gun.
I pocket carry everything all the time, including all my stack and a half 9mm guns like the Cr920x, Shield Plus 9 and 30sc, 365 macro’s with Radiant ramjet, and Hellcats. I wear shorts everyday in FL, but they are the bigger cargo/hip-hop style shorts with large roomy front pockets. Everything is carried in Sticky front pocket holsters, which even are cut for many of my pistols that have a red dot on them. I’ve even pocket carried my newest Echelon 4.0 recently, and a few times a Glock 19, but I usually stick to the 30sc Plus and 365 macros. The newest Bodyguard 2.0 and my LCP Max basically disappear in front pocket carry.
Ironically, I pocket carry more in the winter than summer. I will slip my BG 2.0 in my support hand coat pocket to have quick access while my EDC is under several layers.🤷♂ The few times I have pocket carried with my EDC, I usually put it in a light vest pocket that is made for it, this is rare for me though.
@@thegundungeon Vests are essential formal wear in the heat of the South, 🤷♂it beats a jacket when you are carrying a casket. I just re-read that, it wasn't meant to rhyme.🤣🤣🤣
I PC most of the time. Parking lots and convenience stores/ gas stations are the most likely problem areas that I go to. With PC, I can have my hand on my pistol while I cross a parking lot, pump gas, or enter a store and no one is the wiser.
I ran a few mags off the back porch this am with the TISAS 1911A1 45 Probably my fav handgun right now. The carry model all stainless has been on my hip lately. It’s hard to go back to polymer…very hard
First off I want to congratulate you on a most excellent point. The part where you spoke about having your hand on your pocketed weapon waiting for something to happen. Yet you made it very clear if you have time to wait, you have time to get away from possible danger. That was perfect! Was armed 24/7 as a peace officer. And if a threatening incident occurred in front of me, I'd react. It was my sworn duty. And I took it seriously. Today, in my 70s and in poor health I'd be a liability, even though armed. I'd make a better witness. The nerves are still there, but my body's shot. Balance gone. Nope, I know my limitations today. And no offense intended here, but a person with no training is as much or more of a liability. If going to the range and shooting from a designated boxed in station with 25 rounds at a paper target at 10yds is considered training? Hardly. As to pocket carry personally I seldom do. I carry revolvers with hammers un-bobed. No plastic guns in my world are allowed. 😅 Unless you consider a NAA 22LR mini-revoler in the folding grip-holster clipped in my pocket. The weapon is all SS but the grip-holster contraption is all plastic. 😉
I really dislike pocket carry, but there isn’t much choice when it’s too warm for a covering garment 5-6 months a year. That said, gym clothes have their place - in the gym.
I pocket carry a j frame 357 almost everyday of my life. But we have talked about that before, we know your feelings! Also ball shorts are gay, coincidence? I think not 😂
@@18wheelsandadozen6shooters5 lol ball shorts are the moo moo of middle aged men, it’s when we just don’t care to change into other clothes anymore lol
Being overly concerned about a carrying a pistol with a 30lb trigger with holster is a bit overboard. Load the damn gun put it in your pocket and do not put anything else in your pocket and there's no concern for the trigger to be pulled
Great video!
I believe the snub revolver to be the safest and best option for pockets and purses, especially the .327 chamber (6-rounds, multiple cartridges).

Good advice and yes summer pocket carry is the most likely way to carry.
