Welcome to another video of "Only seen in real life at a museum". I love all of your video, but this one is my new favorite! Not only are the clips well organized and well cut, but the well-rounded information, the beautiful voice, and clear pronunciation of Russian names is absolutely striking. Your videos aren't just UA-cam video, they are mini documentaries that really brightens your viewer's day and add sparkles to everyday life even when the viewer (like me) has no real understanding of the field. Love it!( ゚∀゚) ノ♡
OMG the color is exceptional and the size phenomenal! Really enjoyed this fantastic video! As always, your vast knowledge is obvious. Your voice, so charismatic! Well done, my friend!
@@AndrewPidor yes, Russia, I got that. That’s what makes it so exceptional and phenomenal! I wonder how long the Russians have been hiding that mine?! Makes sense since there are mines in Canada as well. Not just a Southern Hemisphere thing! Lol
Thank you Andrew, that was a beautifully made and narrated video. Congratulations on pronouncing those Russian names! Well, I suppose I better purchase this one too and add it to the large white Diamond from the last auction (😉). I like that you're making these shorter videos emphasizing a particular gem. Maybe you could do that with other varieties of gems as well which will hopefully cut down on your workload with them being shorter videos. Just a suggestion for the future. Although I wouldn't say no to a stunning pink, I do have a love for the blue, green and red. Imagine what an Argyle Pink Diamond of that size would cost? The reason they never have them found in that size in Australia is because the machine that crushes the rock will crush it to a very small size. You'd be lucky, if memory serves me right, if you got a 2ct at most from The Argyle Mine in the Kimberlys of Western Australia. That's why the gems you see at those special auctions are so small. Despite this, the prices are still extremely expensive. They still don't know what it is that turns those Argyles pink. Very strange. Looking forward to Part II of The Boucheron Story. Hope you are doing okay during your Second Wave. I was lucky enough to sneak in a five day holiday to the Alps and just got back a few days ago. It was delightful to get away and out of the monotony of COVID living. Unfortunately, we still had to wear those horrible face masks despite the weather being gorgeous. I'm going back again at the start of December for seven nights by myself this time. It will just be myself and my Motorhome. My parents came up for the recent holiday. It's better to meet on neutral territory. I had booked my holiday for the start of May this year but had to postpone due to COVID. I'm getting this trip in before they let the herds out of Melbourne who will swamp this area. Our town had a very close call when a knowingly infected truck driver got out of Melbourne but turned off just before our town but went everywhere he could think of in the other he went too. Luckily, only a few have tested positive which is good news. If we can't trust people to do the right thing whilst under restrictions, then what hope do we have when they are lifted? I think I'll just become a hermit when Melbourne is let lose. Take care my friend, Kris.🇦🇺💎🤗
Hello, love. I have to agree with you to a certain extent. I love his longer videos when it’s his own voice which I find so charismatic! I’ve got cabin fever and they say we are headed into a third peak of new cases. I’m trying to plan a road trip with my sister to some public mines to do some rock hounding! You should join us if and when we can go. Maybe next spring?!
@@constancekrischan9967 Yes, he does have a charismatic voice doesn't he. I like the longer videos also but thought that at present with everything going on that having a short video put in occasionally would cut down the workload. People in Melbourne can't travel more than 5kms away from their homes unless to work which is fine by me as they keep trying to escape and bring that virus with them. I can't tell you how close our town came to being infected by the escapee truck driver. He has upended our nearby regional town. It was wonderful getting away for just those five days and I can't wait to go again at the start of December. I would dearly love to join you but I doubt that we would even be allowed interstate by then. Our Premier is on a huge power trip and despite our whole region, which includes the Australian Alps in Victoria, have only had one case of COVID since it began but still have to wear face masks. I can't even go one hour north into New South Wales! Australians aren't even allowed to travel to New Zealand but a few planes did fly in from there the other day. They have to quarantine when they get back to N.Z. Most of the cases have been attributed to Melbourne but unfortunately the whole State of Victoria are paying the price. Anyway, being amongst the mountains again in this most beautiful township called Bright was wonderful. To get away from home was the break I really needed. It will be seven nights next time. Just me, myself and I in my dear little Motorhome. Can't wait. I used to live on the outskirts of this town and wanted to give back a helping hand after they were devasted financially from the bushfires. How are your fires going? I haven't heard anything recently. I wish we could give you all the extra rain that has been falling on us here. It's most unusual as I've lived here for five years now and it's never rained this much. I feel so bad for you all suffering for so long after the hell we went through last Summer (your Winter). That is such a tempting offer but I'll have to give you a raincheck. You live in such a stunning area which I know I'd love and I think you would love it here to. So very different. I'm sure you'd love to go to the Opal mines that aren't a great distance from me where the town's are underground. I've always wanted to stay in one of those underground homes or accommodation. It's like being on the moon at these places. We'll have to plan something for the future. If you'd like, I can give you my email. Just let me know when you're ready and I'll type it, then delete when you've written it down. Then you can show me some of your creations! I'll keep an eye out, Kris.
@@krisushi1 oh, opals are one of my favorites! Lightening ridge are exceptional! I’m going to go to Oregon where they have thunder eggs (Geodes) with opal material inside! Can you imagine? After a wild fire, we Californians know all too well, with rain comes landslides of really destructive proportions! I pray for you Aussies every night! Wanna know a little secret.....when I see a jewel i especially love, I go to my jeweler whom specializes in lab grown stones! They start with a chip of earth grown material and grow it in a vacuum. So it’s real but not millions of years old. Exceptional pieces for a fraction of the cost.
@@constancekrischan9967 Thunder eggs are a marvel of Mother Nature! Doesn't it blow your mind how they are created and "grow"? Your'e lucky to know a Jeweller who can help you with your "secret". Would definitely save alot that way. The one positive thing about the pandemic is that it's kept me from the temptation of my Jeweller who had to close up for awhile. So much emphasis is put on Africa etc. for gems when the US has so many too. Hopefully I'll make it over sometime in the not too distant future. Will catch up with you on the next Part of the Boucheron Story. Call me bias but I do prefer Australian Opal over the Welo from Ethiopia. Keep safe, Kris.
@@krisushi1 Australian opals, especially lightening ridge can not be matched in color or fire! Definitely the “cream de la cream!” All others pale in comparison!😘
This is a new one. I like the way that this video focuses on only one jewel. Makes me want to view more videos for the other gems. I wonder though how you came up with such brilliant idea.

Very beautiful...yet it looks just like a morganite lol! I pray I have 1/100th of that money in my bank account soon hahaha! Thx Andrew, looking forward to the next 'episode' as always! Love you! ~~Chanel
I found a pink purple gem earlier today that has a pyramid crystal formation so I thought it was a diamond and I was geeking out cause its a 91 carot rock and is the most beautiful clear pink purple I've ever seen in a rock. But I'm just gonna rule out the chances of it being a diamond and call it pink quartz lmao
Thank you for this mesmerizing video! The colour of this stone is amazing! It would be pretty in a necklace, with just white diamonds, to enhance not over power it's beauty. Orange is my favourite colour and I have seen one or two large vivid orange diamonds, but not many.
Hi Andrew! So hot in my tiny place I finally caved and turned on my window a/c. And wanted to see something beautiful, how did I miss this one?? If only they could have cut it so as not to lose almost half of the diamond. also pinky purple is like kunzite, if only they could cut one of those (I have a loose one now) to look diamond-like lol. I know, not gonna happen but there's hope. Will tweet this one, hope you get more views & subs! Love you friend! ~~Chanel
