Here is a look inside the Simply Good and Beautiful Math 6. This is the math that we had PLANNED on using with my oldest this school year. Some things have changed, and we will not be using this, but I did want to do a flip through and talk about our experience with TBATB math up until this point.

Have you used the Good and the Beautiful Math before? How did it go for you? Or, what are some of your favorite math programs in your family?
Great review! I believe Math 8 is officially their pre-algebra course. Currently under development and due out Spring 2025.
Yes, I have recently heard of that. Thank you for mentioning it! I do also think that some kids can skip pre-algebra and do fine, while others do need that extra year.
Thank you! I enjoyed seeing this ❤. I keep hearing people comment on TGTB 5th and 6th grade math and saying it is a lot of work. But I can remember being in 6th grade public school and doing a TON of math. Not just at school but then having so much homework. I think people just aren’t comparing it to other middle school math. They are comparing it to the elementary grades of TGTB.
That is very possible… and, it totally depends on the child as well. I have a child who could do this no issue, but he rest… definitely need to adapt.
I’ve heard a lot about Denison Algebra for kids struggling with math. The pre algebra he offers, is suppose to cover all previous math concepts outside of the basic add, subtract, multiplication and division.
Yes, Denison Algebra is actually top of my list for this particular daughter in the future. I don’t think she’s ready for pre -Algebra or anything close yet. So, I’m picking something for this year. If it works great, we will stick to it as long as we can, but if it’s only ok, we will probably move to Denison Algebra.

I like math mannoth but it’s dry!!! We use the blue series for gaps and a supplement!!! My kids find the TGTB teacher Is fun!!!
I agree. It is a bit dry which is why we have never used it as our primary. But great as a supplement!
